Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

This I checked personally and know for sure now. The brochure is wrong. All ATs in AX7 come with Adaptive Cruise Control (but without stop and go). The manual ones get regular cruise control.

AX7 (MT and AT) gets Rear parking camera only.
Also, it gets HILL START ASSIST, HILL DESCENT CONTROL but it misses out on AUTO HOLD and ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE.

Hope this helps

Request your kindly help on this one.

Thanks
I was in same dilemma while picking up AX7 and AX7L versions, the difference was too much as compared to additional features, but then having bought an AX7, I don't miss anything except 360-degree camera.

AX7 AT has an adaptive cruise control for speeding up and down as per traffic ahead. However, since AX7 AT doesn't get an electronic parking brake therefore STOP & Go that is coming to a complete halt and resuming automatically upon conditions match is not available.

I am not aware of any other ADAS feature not available in AX7 AT but available otherwise in AX7L.

Please let me know if my understanding is right here.

The sales advisor mentioned that AX7 automatic variant just comes with regular cruise control and was pointing out the brochure. The brochure from mahindra is also confusing.

I request owners to kindly confirm which is right? The brochure or the features section.

The brochure is certainly not wrong - and this confusion is there right from the beginning. Kindly go to the bottom of the page and carefully read the Note at the bottom right side of the page. The following is very clearly written :-

"Smart Pilot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control is only available on AX7 Automatic and AX7 Luxury Automatic variants."

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go is possible only in cars with electronic brakes. I clearly don't know the difference between "ACC" and "ACC with Stop & Go". A vehicle with ACC is supposed to stop when the car ahead comes to a stop.

ACC in AX7 slows down up to 50kmph or stops fully if the speed is below 50kmph. It cancels ACC once speed drops below, IIRC, 20kmph. You need to gain speed above 30kmph to resume ACC. In AX7L, it can stop and crawl in city traffic.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Looks like Adrenox has a bug. It's showing incorrect travel times.
I traveled between Pune and Goa in last 3 days. While it shows trip start and end time correctly, the return trip travel time calculation is way off.
For Goa-Pune 11hrs journey, it shows travel time 6.45 hrs. This is strange considering the Pune - Goa travel time is calculated correctly.

In the L version the ACC does not engage below a threshold speed limit; maybe 30 KMPH or 40KMPH - I am not sure what it is exactly. But once engaged, it does the job it is supposed to do and even comes to a dead stop if the vehicle ahead stops.

Personally I do not understand the logic of M&M engineers to not provide the same facility to the non-luxury variant also. I don't think there is any difference in the hardware here; and that be the case, why not let everyone enjoy the full facility specially when no extra cost is involved.

Actually the M&M marketing people lays a lot of importance on these safety features and also demonstrates these features in details in their test track, during the plant visit. I was of the opinion that the ACC feature was the same in the AT version of the AX7 and AX7L.

I have not gone through the manual for Petrol version, is same V4 oil required for Petrol version as well ? I have 1st 1000km service next week and plan to get the oil changed preemptively.

  • The L version has electronic parking brake [EPB], hence car can come to a complete stop.
  • When this happens, after vehicle in front moves, one has to tap the accelerator lightly or click on resume for vehicle to start moving.
  • I have tried this feature, it works where traffic is cultured, i.e. no one cutting across lanes randomly or coming in reverse direction etc. With this feature on vehicle maintains more than the distance we normally maintain from the front vehicle in the lowest distance setting. So its very likely that 2 wheelers will cut across.
  • Once has to be very careful when using it, in one instance a Harrier was coming in reverse direction and they decided to cut across our lane slightly, the ADAS system couldn't gauge it and was going a full speed as road was empty otherwise. I had to intervene to change our lane slightly, if that Harrier had come a little more into our lane it would have been a collision.
  • In addition to all these quoted by members, I think AX7L version has 12 speaker Sony Audio where AX7 has 6, also the knee airbag is extra.
On a different note, while we're discussing of ADAS and smart pilot assist, neither L or any other variant has a basic feature of in-built window shades on XUV700 , I wish Mahindra addresses this in next update. Here's the review for magnetic ones we purchased https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modif...ml#post5748235 (Magnetic Sun Shades for windows - An alternative to sunfilm?).

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Seeking inputs from fellow XUV700 owners, looking to buy a tyre inflator to be used in emergency situations only. For regular day to day use - I plan to fill Nitrogen and only in case of outstation trips etc might need to top up using the inflator. Some shortlisted options in no particular order :

Bergman Typhoon Analog
150W
Rs 2100
This seems like the best deal out there, has very good reviews and strong recommendations by BHPians.

Bergmann Striker Analog
120W
Rs 1597
XUV700 has 12V port hence, came across this while browsing Amazon and seems good value for money for emergency use.

Bargmann Vaccum + Inflator
few negative reviews
Rs 2200

Woscher Vaccum + Inflator
DC 12 V
has decent reviews
Rs 2300

The last 2 may not be as efficient as above inflator only products, but I get a vaccum cleaner as well - since this will be used on rare occasions to inflate, is it okay make a trade off w.r.t inflator quality and go for these. I'm inclined towards the Woscher Vaccum + Inflator, anyone who has used such products please help out a fellow mate. I'm open to consider other tyre inflators as well in similar budget. Thanks in advance.

I am using the digital version of this one and it works very well. Takes around 30-40 seconds to top up 10 psi.

Anyone with dogs, how are you all pet proofing the car? Do you use mesh separators? If so, can you please suggest some good products to buy? Don't want my second row seat covered with drool

Thank you, does it reach all 4 tyres or needs an extender?
Any feedback on the 2nd option in the list.

I had purchased this one about a year back but had to return it because it would not reach the front left tyre. If you want to use this then you'll need to buy an extensiion chord or find a way to connect this to the battery directly.

If you can extend your budget, kindly check out the Viair 87P. It is extremely reliable, powerful and has a long life.
