Thanks. The car is definitely worth it, considering it is a genuine full size SUV, with no other offering at a similar pricepoint (especially with petrol powertrains).

Regarding the audio quality, it is strictly okay, but nothing exceptional. As I am not an audiophile, I'll not be able to shed light on most of this, unfortunately, but I'm guessing unless there is a separate amplifier involved, the dummy slots should be easy to upgrade with some wiring. I am not exploring any audio upgrades though.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

A discount of more than 3 lakhs at least, should be extended for the so called smart bare pack.
After providing so many options for the customers , I think Mahindra should also extend one last option of hundred percent refund for cancelation.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Regarding transfer of ownership prior to delivery.
I was told by the dealer on 8th itself that name change is easily possible. Dealer will ask for documents of the transferor and transferee and 'upload' into system for 'approval'. I vaguely remember, he mentioned this will be approved by Mahindra - but i could be wrong on this.
Context here was that i have made the booking in my name but the registration needs to be on a company lease, so it's exactly similar to a situation where booking is done by one entity and registration by another.

Already there, if you cancel by Dec 21. Contact your dealer or customer care for confirmation.

Instead of this useless new variant, they should simply add automatic climate control and ESP to the AX5 variant. I'm guessing lot of AX7 bookings will switch to AX5. In fact, these 2 features should have been standard on the AX5 from the beginning. XUV700 would be the only car which has a variant with Panoramic sunroof but manual AC.

If you take the example of Ecosport before it got discontinued, it offered Auto AC right from second trim, the Trend.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Quick question to all. I saw a video today of the side impact test conducted recently at GNCAP. In that video it is seen the car is rolling over due to the side impact at 50km per hr speed. Understand it is an SUV with lesser centre of gravity. But since the car rolled over does it still warrant a 5 star safety rating?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

The chip shortage problem is real - a variant without these dependencies makes total sense. Kudos to them!

Regarding pricing: its debatable at 80K less.. But if they add ESP, it doesnt seem all that bad. Imagine how much other manufacturers are ripping us off for these features?!!

1) MicroHybrid is available only on Manual Transmission across all variants.

2) Leather gear lever is available on all Automatic variants.

3) 3rd row aircon vents, 2nd row seat with armrest and cupholder as well as 2nd row 60:40 One-Touch tumble functions are available only on the 7-seater configurations.

4) Smart Pilot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control is only available on AX7 Automatic and AX7 Luxury Automatic variants.

5) All-Wheel-Drive is available on AX7 only and comes with Electronic Park Brake.

6) Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is available on AX5 Diesel, AX7 (Both Diesel and Petrol), AX7 Luxury (Both Diesel and Petrol) and all Automatic variants.
This I doubt as I have read multiple times that AX7 AT loses on Adaptive CC and instead has normal CC. AX7 AT gets ADAS but does not get 360 camera and blind view monitoring.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Toy brands have a tactic - they advertise impressive , drool worthy new toys and short supply same to market. When parents visit to buy then do not find it in store and end up buying something in store to meet immediate ask of child. Toy companies run ad campaign again, this will unsettle kids again, when parents visit toy stores this time , they will find the new toy in shelves.

Seems like Mahindra is partly inspired by this tactic.

I booked the same variant on the same day but in Midnight Blue. Seems I may have an even longer waiting period than you. Will probably end up cancelling, no point in waiting almost a year for a car.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Deeply condemn M&M for the fiasco that they have created with this so called smart pack. This is just plain and simple unfair to the customer. I really dont know how much M&M has reduced the price of this variant but it seems like a minor one itself.

So for the questions I have now is :

- Firstly this is just offered to the AX7L , but ADAS is also a standard part of AX7 model too.
- Secondly any price reductions on AX7 if they are removing the ADAS.

In my personal opinion, without ADAS & ESP I wouldn't have bought the XUV700.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 Review

Abnormally long waiting periods for the Diesel and even the petrol. Four-5 of my friends who had booked Petrol and Diesel AT versions have estimated delivery periods of 8-9 months+ & they are now in the process of cancelling their bookings.

2 have decided on the Gold version of the Safari and rest are not sure as what to buy now.
