Excellent advice.

In this case, they never forced this component in a direct way. Yet, they shuffle your options in such a way that this becomes the only sensible pick.

In the end, I guess it takes a bit of experience to deal with all this - especially for someone who buys cars once every decade. And it probably gets a whole lot difficult each time. Truly miss the simple times when we just bought our MS 800.

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

Just my suggestion not to get 1Lt engine instead with offers go for 1.5Lt as power delivery figures of 1Lt are for specific rpm band which is rarely achieved within city traffic, add to that AC load in summers.

1.5Lt is very good engine in VW with technology to shut one cylinder and give better miellage etc. Downside is DSG but in my view its lesser of two evils i.e. 1Lt vs DSG.

Moreover all makers be it Hyundai or others giving DSG only with turbo petrol so might as well buy Taigun 1.5Lt with offers as on Creta DSG no offers. And in either car problem if any will boil down to DSG only, so any day VW 1.5 over any other brand offering DSG.

Is it advisable to go with a VIN25 unit for ~1L more?
I would suggest to check out the 1.5 GT Manual as well. Ask for 2024 (November or December make) models. Heard Madurai Ramani Volkswagen has some good offers going on till March end.

Re: Volkswagen Taigun Review

My brother has booked Taigun Highline 1.0 MT in white colour from Volkswagen Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra.

The final deal he got from the dealer for MY25 vehicle is 15,00,000/-
This does not include the full accessories kit, instead it has Mudflaps, Mats and Rear Parcel tray.

Any suggestion if it is a good Deal or further negotiation is possible if any?

The price is a bit too high, my friend from Mumbai got the VW Taigun Highline 1.0 MT with Insurance at a very cheap price (around Rs.22,000), a free 5-year extended warranty, Rs.15,000 accessories package and a whopping discount and a loyalty package for Polo owners and the final price came to just Rs.13.78 lakhs for a January 2025 Manufactured vehicle.

I guess the Polo Celebration offer and Insurance from outside are the reasons for such a low quote, do check what discounts you have received in total and try for further negotiations.

.
If possible, could you please help me with the Break-up of the offer your friend has got from the dealer.
This will help me a lot to understand where the room for negotiating could be.

Additionally, is there a condition for availing Polo Loyalty discount. My First Aunt(Father's real sister) has Polo registered on her name.

Thank you. Have been looking at deals in/around Chennai. The prices quoted here have been eye-watering, and the dealers quite stubborn.

For example, they have a grand 40k discount on the VIN24 Highline Plus MT. This is effectively a 25k value over VIN25 units, which already get a just-for-the-sake-of-it 15k discount.

Looking away from VW now.

I got close to 1.5L discounts thanks to some lucky promotions for my GTLine booking.

They are yet to deliver though, and are delaying since 3 weeks to procure the car from VW factory.

Update on this.

There is no stock anywhere, have to wait for factory allotment in the month of April. So I am looking at waiting time of 3-4 more weeks.
Then there is a price hike as well.

Booked on March 8, made to wait for ~2 months, then have to bear a price hike too.

Not a good experience to start my VW journey with. I will see how much compensation I can get from the dealership.

Recently took home Taigun GT line AT in Delhi for 16.56 OTR (standard accessory kit included). The month being march, with pressure to meet their sales quota, I believe I was able to squeeze out a sweet deal.

Volkswagen Taigun is rumoured to have a price revision.

- The prices of the Taigun’s Highline 1.0 AT and Highline 1.0 MT variants have been slashed by Rs. 1.43 lakh and Rs. 88,500, respectively.

- On the other hand, the prices of the GT 1.5 MT and GT 1.5 DSG remain unchanged.

- All other variants of the Taigun have witnessed a hike of up to Rs. 13,000.
