I know unlimited km extended warranty would have been the best but what you have is not bad after all.

If you are already on way to cross 1+ Lac km within standard warranty period and don't end up with any warranty claims, it is a good sign that you got the best out of the car, isn't it

Re: Hyundai Alcazar Review

Hi, post the first service of my Alcazar Petrol Turbo DCT last week, I found the brakes have lost their sharp bite and in high speeds it wasn't confidence inspiring. Spongy in a way. Initially I thought it maybe just after the servicing and one couldn't make a big difference in the city traffic. This became pronounced during my weekend long drive of 1000Kms where you felt the bite was missing when you need to slow down the car from 100-120Kmph. You need to plan and start slowing down much earlier. Before the first service the brakes were definitely very sharp and effective.

I have taken it to the Trident Hyundai Service Center and got hold of one of their technicians to drive the car on the highway to prove my point. Only then they got an idea of what I was saying. They wanted the car to be with them to check the brakes, ABS calibrations etc. Now its with them and hopefully they fix it properly by tomorrow.

Bit surprised and little worried as just after the 1st service how the brake calibration can change since they do only basic inspections (thats my understanding). Any inputs or advise on what could have possibly gone wrong?

Needed some advice.
I would not cut corners on maintenance, especially when you have so much reliance on your vehicle.

For my S-Cross and Alcazar, I've always got them serviced in 4-6 hour time period.

Am not too worried on extended warranty, I remember it was 5 years 100K was the highest I saw, which you would overhaul in 4 months time

***Two litres for 50KMs***

I tried to have a peaceful ride while maintaining 60-80 Km/hr, this was the result!

1/3th of the journey was moving city traffic in Bengaluru and the rest on the NH44.

How is your experience with the carlinkit device. Could you please share link or details about the product. I'm also looking for such device for Android (Samsung).

Should the service we done every 10k km as prescribed by Hyundai and what things should be done / be left out in service that is coming up every 2nd month now.

As per Hyundai service center, warranty might be rejected in case servicing is not done as per proper intervals, the car comes with a 3 year unlimited Km warranty but no extended warranty options is available for unlimited km.
This is true. Please stick with Hyundai service schedule and you will have a happier long term ownership experience. I have had an Ertiga for 10 plus years and all services have taken place at various Maruti service centres only. They have never been able to refuse anything under warranty. However, if you think, time and other constraints mean you are unable to get the Alcazar to reach the service station at scheduled times and if some part needs to be claimed/replaced under warranty then please be ready that it may get charged to you and declined under warranty.

I have an Endeavour 3.2 and it has no warranty left, and thankfully has not needed any replacing pf parts etc plus I have modifications too. So, in both the experiences I can say slightly greater peace of mind if things are under warranty and they will honour it (mostly). However, if you get a few modifications, customise it per your needs and use it well just be prepared that they may not honour warranty if it is not kept per the schedule which would be under the T&C for warranty claims.

Cheers

That is some figure.

Not to sound cynical but the Hyundai's calculated mileage is way off when you drive sedately . The usual difference between the displayed and tank to tank cut off is 3kmpl but when you drive sedately ,the difference touches close to 5 . They should seriously recalibrate their calculation method and not feed us so much saccharine by showing those values.

I was aware of the usual difference but 5 is a big difference.
I simply saw a good starting figure while leaving the city and so, tried to see how far I could go. If had continued my NH ride, may have even got close to 28kmpl. yet, that will not be the actual case!

Recently, I installed wireless android auto and apple carplay in my Nexon to avoid frequent interruptions while connected through wire. I choose Carlinkit 5.0 (2air), the latest version which directly connects to android auto rather bypass through apple carplay. The device is small and compact, with side ventilation to prevent from overheating. USB type A-C and type C-C cables are provided in the box. It is good!

Purchase: Ordered from Carlinkit website, received 20% discount by using coupon code “PRAKASH”

But within 5 mins of the DPF warning, I saw a message on the console warning of engine management system failure and asking me to visit a nearby service center.

Went straight to the Hulimavu service center again. They connected the OBD scanner and the soot level was 100%. Initiated the regen process and 30 minutes later, the warning was gone.

This is the 3rd time I have got the DPF warning and each time it has been at about 10000km intervals. But this was the first time, the warning asked me to visit the service center. Not sure why that happened.
@Naetik30 - How many kms have you driven post DPF clearance ? I had a similar issue in the early days, took it to service Centre where they cleared the error and completed the regen manually. The issue reoccurred after 400 kms and they concluded an issue with the diesel particulate filter. Did you refuel at any normal fuel pump on the highway ?

I am not technically proficient enough to get this done by myself, nor do I understand whether getting the Dash Cam installed will impact the warranty of the car in any way. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
The Service center guys will help you out specially to conceal the dashcam wire. Since there are no wire cuts and power is drawn through the cigarette lighter / usb, warranty will not get impacted. Dashcam is a necessity now and there is more awareness about it now.

I have driven 2500kms since the DPF clearance in the service station and most of the running since then has been in bad Bangalore traffic.

My car has done 33000 kms (since I bought it in April 2022). And I have got the DPF warning once every 10000 kms on average. But the last time was the only time I saw the message that said "Engine management system warning", but it went away on DPF clear.

About bad fuel - I had used suspect fuel when the car was at about 9000kms and that resulted in severe juddering. I had written a whole thread on it and the issue went away only after the fuel injectors were changed under warranty.
But no DPF issues due to bad fuel. I stick to a single fuel pump in Bangalore near my place when in the city.

Re: Hyundai Alcazar Review

Hi,
I am planning to get a dashcam for my alcazar. Is it better to get from the Hyundai service centre or outside? Any suggestions?

Re: Hyundai Alcazar Review

My driver seat side cushion has been torn out. And this is a ventilated seat, so putting seat covers are not an option. Is there anyway I can claim replacement under warranty? The vehicle is about to complete one year.

Depends on your use case, if planning to do hardwiring for 24X7 recording better get it through service center. If just a plug and play to cigarette lighter socket, you can buy your own choice from outside.

I'm not sure if warranty coverage extends to seat covers or upholstery, unless, of course, it is a serious manufacturing defect / quality issue and can be proven as such. Although it wouldn't be fair for me to guess the reason for the damage on the seat cover solely based on the picture, it doesn't appear to be a case of a manufacturing defect or quality issue. In such a case, it might be difficult to get the seat cover replaced under warranty, especially when we are talking about touchpoint surface here. However, there's no harm in checking with the Hyundai service center. Just my two cents.
