Team, How do you maintain the leather seats?

Can you recommend good Leather seat cleaner and brush to upkeep the Alcantara fabric?

Mine was one of the first gear selector replacement on the forum. Post that vehicle has run a fair amount of time and mileage. I have noticed Jerks only once and quite prominent. If its the gear selector replacement then it should have persisted for most part of period and that's not the case. I suspect fuel pump or fuel. Later being more likely candidate. In my case i had half tank in vehicle, that means it wasn't refilled anytime soon. One of those VW/Skoda things until you can replicate just live with it.

Just before second year service, battery low indicator turned on. Car does run 5+ days a week. I pushed SA for replacement to be on safe side but their process is very clear from Skoda. First they charge the battery is able to hold it then no replacement initiated. Hopefully it doesn't knock off any time soon. Previously Vento battery knocked off at 2yrs 4 months mark and the replacement battery lasted until it was sold.

Hello folks !! Just wanted to know which grade of Engine oil are you using for Oil change ? The owners' manual says 0W30 need to be used, However, on the engine bay, it is written as 0W 20. Those who have done their 1st or later services may please throw some light on this.

I recently had my first service. The oil used was 'VW group long life IV". This is 0W-20 grade oil as per their site - https://www.longlife100.de/en/c/moto...longlife-iv-fe .

Also, SA shared that Air filter doesn't need to be changed every 15k KM, but rather on 30K KM, Strange that my Polo TDI gets a new air filter every 15K KM.

To apprise, Skoda has recalled vehicles with defective Airbags (Takata). Please refer the link below to check against your VIN no.

Re: Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI DSG Review

If you are letting the Skoda service centre personnel to do wheel alignment or balancing, ensure that they handle it properly.

I recently completed my first service. Opted for SMP.

The SA claimed that they have 'specialised equipment' to handle the alignment and wheel balancing for the Octavia A8. So wanted to give them some additional work on the invoice, I opted only for Alignment and wheel rotation, although the cost was 40% higher from other tyre outlets.

The pictures speak for themselves. I now regret my decision to let them touch the wheels. The work was done very carelessly.

The pneumatic motor used for the removal of the wheel bolts was handled in a way that damaged the paints on all the 4 alloys . A minimum level of patience would have saved the alloys from scratches.

Bringing this up, the SA claimed it was present earlier. I had to confront him with proof that the wheels havent been removed earlier with some pictures.

It is definitely an eyesore as the alloys are black in colour and it is more prominent in light than in the pictures.

The oil service was prompt and completed in time, no complaints and the car feels smooth and more refined.

Note : I am not sharing the service centre name as they agreed to repaint the alloys and SA was apologetic later.

Has anyone been able to update these files to Nav? And if so, is there any result of that?

Those are nasty scars that could have been avoided. As a rule of thumb, I personally would not, and have never used ASS for specialist work like WA/WB and Detailing/Ceramic etc. They just don't have the expertise in these fields. That being said, you may want to reconsider having the entire wheel re-sprayed by the ASS only cos of the scratches in the lug holes. not worth loosing factory finish on the rest of the wheel. Try a touch up job on the lug holes and leave it at that if it bothers you so much, else break dust will hide it for you sooner than later. ASS will never be able to match factory finish.

After 15 months, my keyfob battery is dead. Ordered a set of 5 on Amazon and after replacing the battery, the error shown in MID is gone now. A bit surprised about such low battery life.

Sorry to hear about this, fixing dual tone alloy wheels is tricky, make sure to ask them on how they are planning to fix this, some brush touch up would be most appropriate on the scratches on the black paint, it is going to be difficult to paint the entire alloy by taping the brushed aluminium/chrome section.

Our Ecosport also had a door scratch post service last year and I noticed this only after I got the vehicle home, good thing was when I brought this to SAs notice, he did not get into an argument, he checked the CCTV footage and concluded that it happened during the wash, he offered to get this fixed, I politely declined as I did not want to keep the car at the center only to be returned with more issues, I got it sorted out at a detailing center near my home within an hour

All in all, my take on service centers is that most are overworked with too many vehicles coming and going out, space is at a premium everywhere and it is best to not let your car be here for even a minute more than required, I have decided to not let authorized dealerships to wash my car or even get the wheel alignment done, all we need to get done from them is the mandatory mechanical service as prescribed by the OEM, nothing more, this is not fool proof, but its best to leave one's car unsupervised for as less time as possible

Thank you! I'm planning to get it touched up with the same paint used for the alloys. Not going for a full repaint.

Mind sharing the Battery type you ordered? Is it CR 2032?

AFAIK, Recent Octavia doesn't have the feature of inbuilt navigation. Only Kodiaq and Superb had that. The maps you see at the portal may be for those models or global Octavia variants.

Re: Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI DSG Review

Can anyone please suggest good Audio specialist in Mumbai? Mine is a non canton L&K and would want a slight upgrade over current setup. I am not very keen on major overhaul involving heavy amp and woofer setup. Honestly, a Underseat sub also would have done the job but couldn’t find any reliable audio mechanic here in Mumbai.
Any leads would be appreciated.
