It's really frustrating.
Send a communication to East Zonal incharge and Regional Manager from your registered ID in records. Seek clarity and highlight the loss.Your service center seems in its own universe, if they are refusing the wire tie solution was no better at damaging the vehicle and voiding the warranty. Also ask for Standby vehicle , RSA pickup if they are denying to put your quick fix in place with this threat of warranty.

Is Safari BS6 Phase 2 compliant as of now?

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Thank you for the suggestion.

The dealership promised a resolution by end of next week. I'm giving them a chance before I escalate it further.

This is Lexican Motors at Siliguri, West Bengal and they've been pretty reliable with me before. I had bought a Hexa XTA from them in 2018 and had a pleasant 2 years ownership with their service. Good, competent people all round!

Oh I just remembered- A warning to Automatic Tata Car owners- on my third servicing of the Hexa, on a whim, I decided to go to the newly opened service centre of another dealership in Siliguri, where a "Chottu" promptly drained the Gearoil from the Autobox, mixing it on the drain tray with the old engine oil.

The hassled looking service manager apologized and said that since Automatic Gearbox is supposed to be lifetime oil, they don't have stock at the dealership and had to get it from somewhere else ( Another part of the country- I forget where)

I waited for two days in a Hotel while they flew the Gearoil in. Thankfully, they provided me with an Old Indica while my Hexa was with them. Another lesson learnt, the hard way.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

A couple of questions I wanted to ask my fellow owners, please-

1) The Rain sensing Sunroof- When I open just the inner Fabric roof (without opening the outer glass pane), and it starts raining, the inner roof closes automatically. Is that how it's supposed to be? Is there a way to keep the outer Glass pane closed and the inner one open during rains?

2) The two horn beeps when opening the boot- This isn't there on my cousin's 2020 Harrier. It's very irritating and also problematic when I come home late at night and want to creep inside Ninja style without waking anybody up and having to pick up stuff from the back. Can that be disabled?

Speaking of the boot, have other owners done any Jugaar on making a ledge/ handle/ strap to lift the boot? Looks like a glaring miss. difficult to find a fingerhold to lift the boot, esp when the vehicle is dirty and you want to touch the exterior as less as possible.

3) That matrony AQI. How do I disable it? Every time I light up a cigarette, it beeps loudly and admonishes in the strongest possible terms that the Air Quality is now at a critical level and I'm basically responsible for all the bad things happening to our planet. Can I get it to keep doing its thing without the repeated loud beeps and warnings?

Thanks guys.

Put wiper to manual from automatic mode and you will be able to open sunshade with sunroof closed. It seems sunshade motor is connected to auto sensing wiper mode.

Tata making right moves at right time. When scorpio N z8 2WD model(priced same as XMAS model) are irked at lowest priority being given by M&M, this move will surely pull out some bookings from there, as safari is almost available off the shelf.

I am loving how our two indian brands are on their toe to respond to market dynamics. M&M would surely be thinking to deliver Z8 2WD in flesh soon, to counter this move.

Tiny Sunroof to Panaromic Sunroof, Tata gets the flex on this. I am sure they already have the Pipeline. Festival Deliveries would be possible. Getting a bigger piece of the Pie.

I also believe it is brand reaffirmation strategy as once BS6 Phase 2 comes in prices are going to further increase.

Hi,
Apologies for the late reply. Stock audio is sufficient for most cases but I spend a lot of time on my cars ( Completed 40000 kms on the Safari so far) and hence the need for high quality audio made me upgrade the speakers. I have also added a compact subwoofer place under the driver seat from JBL and the sound is good. I'm not a bass thumping loud audio type of guy and most of my song selections are retro ( read Don Mclean, John Denver, Cat Stevens etc).
The primary reason for upgrade is the sound dampening sheets that I installed added to the wind cutting stickers that I put up on the door panels. Now the Safari cabin is dead silent and hence the desire for good quality audio. Hope it makes sense.

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Does anybody have experience in tyre rotation with the Safari? How is the TPMS re-programmed to understand its current position?

Re: 2021 Tata Safari Review

Every Tata Harrier and Tata Safari you see on the road, is build entirely by women!

Tata has deployed only women employees on the production line of their flagship products. Congratulations Tata for being the change. Very surprise info and good move. These women sounds so proud of themselves and rightly so! They works in three shifts including the night shift.

I wish Tata also employees women on QC department. IMHO, women are more stringent to QC comparing to men.

Hi, this is done at the SC. They use the QR stickers pasted on the alloys to reconfigure the wheels in their new positions.

Hope you have those stickers, else it's just a little longer / more tedious process. Best is to get a picture of those and save them somewhere as a note for easy future perusal.

Cheers,
Aayush

i don't think so. SC just needs to initiate TPMS recalibration.
I did it in my last service and it automatically finds out the wheels and recalibrate the position correctly by its own without providing individual wheel details.
any how it's 10 minutes job and every wheel rotation, TPMS calibration is required to show the tyre pressure reading with right position in the cockpit.

Considering the number of niggles and problems being faced by Safari/Harrier owners, I don't know if I can see this in an entirely positive light.

I actually have no issue with Women Working, like someone said aesthetically and process wise they are more diligent. It is Analytical Motor head section in applying Jugaad or fix in Mechanical process where Hammer sledge nut bot grease love comes in.

That being said the pic gave me a good pic and understanding of rear Wheel setup.
