Every BMW sold comes with 1st year Secure included in the car price. So technically you need to ask your rep for another freebie.

Extended warranty is a must, at least till 5th year. 6th year is also there but very high priced.

You be paying higher price. I guess this part rep didn't tell.

This he is correct. Not worth buying BSI since your usage is very low.

I see, he did mention that after the first year the coverage/reimbursement for the tires if required, would be after calculating some depreciation and stuff. I am not entirely sure how this would work.

Is that the case if I am renewing prior to the expiry of the warranty?

The longest I plan to keep a car is for 5 years usually and not more however right now depending on how fast the move to EV happens, this might even be shorter.

A better bet might be to check aftermarket from US/EU specialists.
I'll dig around UK sites for part numbers and schematics. Yes, I prefer the trapezoidal tips to the round ones. The diffuser itself should be replaceable. Just need to either fabricate and extra tip or go the route you mentioned.

58.60L OTR without insurance. The rep threw in the BMW secure plus package which covers tire replacement and some foot mats. There has been a price increase apparently after April and the quoted OTR was 64.86L with insurance. Do you guys think I got a decent enough deal?

Hey, I am in the same place as you are. Can you tell me what's the ex showroom price you got on your 3 series and not on-road price? Also, any particular reason you went with the current 3 series when the face-lift LCI is just 3 months away? Also, do you think by year end there would be more discounts on the 3 series?

Ex-Showroom would be around ~51.23L. I went with it because the car was readily available without waiting. While the new 3 series is expected to launch in October - Nov, the actual delivery timelines specially for the 330i variants might be longer stretching into early next year possibly and the way things are going the pricing will only continue to go north. BMW isn’t producing these cars anymore so your discount will depend if your dealer has any car left and if it makes sense waiting for the last moment. There has been two price increases just this year alone IIRC. I think the days of 8-10 L of discounts are gone though.

Very true. BMW has been consistently hiking the BRI prices by ~8% annually. If you can manage it, buy at least 3 years extra (total 5) BRI within 30 days of car purchase date. They usually have an 'early sale' rate which is a relatively good deal.

I see thanks. So if I buy within the 30 days I get the discount however I can still buy it before the 2 yr warranty expires I suppose albeit at a higher price?

Correct. But don't wait till the last minute. Buy at 22 months just to make sure no glitches occur - it's a common global BRI system, better to be safe and sure.

Excellent, thanks. I’ll take a look at this. Did the PDI today, I PDI Expert’s (Mr. Ashwini’s) service to schedule the PDI at the stockyard. Highly recommend for anyone buying a new or used car in Pune and not up for doing his own PDI, one of the best ₹1500 ever spent. Registration is a bit delayed due to the long weekend, 19-20th is what I have been told as the tentative delivery date.

I’ve gone through a lot of the relevant G20 threads here, if there’s anything else I should be aware of or keep an eye out for, please do let me know.

Congratulations on your new arrival! Portimao Blue is an excellent color choice, also my personal favorite. Wish you the best!

Incorrect.

You will have to pay for depreciation as per tyre tread left even if its within 1 year. Attached below BMW Secure policy wording.

BMW chews through RFT like theres no tomorrow.

Within 20,000 kms rear RFT be down to minimum tread.

Thanks for that link.

20K kms for me is like 4+ years if I’m optimistic.
The car is only driven largely when I’m in the country, when I’m not it’s just driven to keep everything is decent shape.

My outgoing Elantra bought in 2017 has done a mere 15980 kms.

Re: Review: BMW 330i (G20)

BMW Mumbai dealer informed that the facelift/ upgrade is coming in next year and the reason the 330i Sport & 320d luxury edition is scarcely available now (read -discontinued-), the only model available from standard wheelbase series is 330 M Sport. Did anyone hear of this before?

Highly possible. The LCI is already in production in the US, Germany & Mexico. The mother plants would have steadily retooled and prepared for the LCI.

It's only a matter of time before the current CKD kits run out for countries like India, especially for less popular models (& less profitable) variants like the Sport. I expect the LCI to earlier though.

Correct, based on what I know it’s expected in Q2-Q3 next year. BMW isn’t producing any new units anymore, so whatever dealers have either in stock or in queue for delivery are the ones that they are selling. But most dealers I inquired with in Pune and Mumbai had atleast 1 unit available some even 2-3. The good part is no waiting.
