Second servicing done for my car at Trident Hyundai early July. I requested for Map & Bluelink Software updates to which they asked me to come back. They updated the software & map last week. Took about 2 hours.

Hi, I echo the same sentiments and worries. A month ago, while returning to Bangalore from Kolar, there was a slight tapping noise (the cabin in our petrol car is silent) and within seconds I noticed a 2-3 inch windscreen crack. Over the next week or so the crack new to about 1 feet. Fearing that the screen may shatter while on a highway, we got the windscreen replaced.
In our earlier Honda City, had a few stone chip hits on the windscreen but never a crack/shatter.

Mod Note : Please quote ONLY the relevant bits of a post. Quoting a full, long post inconveniences our mobile readers.

Thanks!

If anyone has suggestions, will be great to hear them - maybe connect the cameras to the existing head unit or have to install a separate display for that.
Did you get that 360 camera, ultimately?

Nope. No real options for this model.
Installed a dash cam instead

Of late, my built in maps doesn't show 'Live' traffic any more. Is this a known issue? Thanks

Re: 2020 Hyundai Tucson Facelift Review : 2.0L Diesel with 8-speed AT

@thalavoy:-
I'm glad to hear that I could confirm the live maps issue for you. It's definitely frustrating when a service doesn't work as expected.

I was surprised that the Blue Link helpdesk is claiming that it was an isolated incident and that I need to visit a service station. I believe that's the standard response that they give when people have problems with the service. However, I think it's clear that there is a more widespread problem with the blue link.

I hope that Hyundai fixes the problems with Blue Link and maps soon. It's a great service with a lot of potential, but it's not worth paying for if it's not reliable.

Great. I will also call Blue Link help desk saying this issue is more than isolated. I will keep posting any updates here. Thanks

Even my Tucson Blue Link Live Traffic is not working for last few days. Escalated to service advisor, they haven't come back with RCA.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Tucson Facelift Review : 2.0L Diesel with 8-speed AT

Sort of nitpicking but the 2017 Tucson's fog lights seem to be a bit weak.
Often I've not found them to illuminate much. I believe they are 35W units.
I see that online, they are H8 standard bulbs. Would a brighter set of H8s make much difference - 55W? This is not to blind oncoming traffic with brighter headlights but to get more illumination on the road.

I got a call from the Bluelink customer center. They told the issue is fixed.
I can see that I am consistently getting the Live Traffic last couple of days. Keeping fingers crossed

Came across this:

https://internation.in/product/hyper...tereo-player/#

If anyone knows this brand or seller and have used the devices on a Hyundai or other manufacturers, will be great to hear from. It would be good to hear how the installation was done, especially if the 360 camera was opted for.

Hello,
Has anyone here renewed the Bluelink subscription?
What works and what does not.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Tucson Facelift Review : 2.0L Diesel with 8-speed AT

Hello Everyone,

I am writing this only to understand the expert views/owner views on purchasing a 2021 Tuscon vs a new Kia Seltos/Creta/Kushaq or any other new cross over.

I do not intend to purchase a car right now. I was only wondering what everyone thinks of some of the things I say here.

As most of us do, I was scrolling through second hand car sites endlessly without any intention of buying a car. Its a fun activity (but I don't need to tell you that). I came across a second hand Tuscon from the facelift 2021 manufactured lot. It got me thinking that at about 20 lakhs, a used Tuscon with 8 speed transmission and the same engine as the latest Tuscon - 182hp+400nm - might be a better purchase than a Kia Seltos or a Hyundai Creta. Of course, a lot depends on what the individual wants. But to keep things generic, I am only focusing on the engines, car's general dynamics and few basic features.

Here is a link to the Spinny ad -
https://www.spinny.com/buy-used-cars...n-delhi-ncr/s/

Advantages of a pre-worshipped 2021 Tuscon over a new Creta/Seltos/Kushaq:

1. A car from a segment above at roughly the same price. A true lateral upgrade comparison.
2. The same engine+transmission combo of today's 45 lakh Tuscon
3. This particular advertised car has run 51,000kms. For a modern Hyundai and with the after sales support network of Hyundai, this is pittance. The car is almost new.
4. No ADAS! What a boon to have a modern engine car from 2021 without ADAS. No interruptions!
5. 4WD! A very capable 4WD is available at 20 lakhs!

Disadvantages:

1. Rs 20 lakh crossovers offer more features/creature comforts than ever before. The most useful ones that are missing in the 2021 Tuscon are - Ventilated Seats, 360 degree camera and blind spot monitor (among others)
2. Satisfaction of owning a brand new car

I do not see any other disadvantage.

Therefore, my questions are - would the experts recommend people buying a second hand Tuscon at 20 lakhs? Is 20 lakhs the right price for this car? I think a new top model of Tuscon in 2021 must've been about 35 lakhs. ~45% depreciation seems good for this car in this overpriced second hand car market?

I am referring to the many pre-worshipped car polls started by Blackwasp back in June 2020 and thinking what you guys think about this one.

Re: 2020 Hyundai Tucson Facelift Review : 2.0L Diesel with 8-speed AT

I bought a 2017 4WD model and here are my suggestions for the inspection:
1. Check all 4 tires, outside wall, and inner walls. I realized that the previous owner or Cars24 (whom I bought from), had inverted one rear tire to hide a damaged sidewall.
2. Take the spare out and ensure that it has 0 damage. Mine had air but later realized it had a slow leak (2 nails) which Cars24 brushed aside. I ended up replacing 2 tires.
3. Drive for at least 30 minutes in the city and some highways (you may have to fill some fuel) but this is worth it. Mine had a pulley issue which became known after driving for some time and was not evident during the short drive around the block.
4. Ensure you have the spare key. Mine did not and it took a while to get an original replacement from Hyundai.
5. If there is a service center nearby, plan to drive the vehicle there during the "test drive" and have it inspected there for any issues. On mine, Cars24 "garage" was pretty useless.
6. If there is a sunroof, open it and look at the guide rails/channels. If there is dirt, be careful. Check under the A-pillar carpet on the driver and passenger sides. Any telltale moisture or signs of wetness will mean the drain channels are blocked. Getting those sorted will not be easy. Mine does not have a sunroof and am happy for it.

Check also to make sure the infotainment is working - inbuilt maps ought to have an SD card like mine. This often is "stolen". Pair your and your buddy's phones via Carplay/Android Auto and check if the controls on the steering and speakers are all working. Many owners buy an expensive vehicle and often use it till something major breaks and partways after a good wash.
If all that checks out, the Tucson has few competitors. I would not consider the Seltos, Creta, Kushaq or Taigun as competitors. If there is a used Tiguan, sure.
I've done close to 10K since and while some money was shelled out to fix the issues that were hidden, its a great vehicle. I don't need ADAS given local driving conditions tbh. Not worth it unless you have a rare expressway where people actually stay in their lanes.
