Can you guys give me the available options and best sizes to go with if its an upsize?
You can also look at Apollo Apterra AT2 in 265/60/18. Good reviews. Few members have used them.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Has anyone here installed this new roof rack by Prad4x4, would love to get some reviews on this product. It seems rather well designed and aesthetically pleasing!

Attaching a few pictures below from the company's Instagram page:

Does it involve drilling and all on the vehicle body shell and roof?
I would worry if that is the case because of the following reasons.
1. Water leakages
2. Rust and corrosion
3. Compromise of vehicle Structural integrity

I'm not sure regarding the particulars of installation, waiting for someone who has installed this to elaborate further. Based on the above images, there seems to be a metal strip under the rear-side windows, this could be glued/welded/drilled on to the body.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Have you guys thought of the altering the rear seat setup to free up space?

Individual flipping seat design would be even better.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Hey Guys!

Got Tharred finally after a wait of almost 2 months! Got my black beauty after a lot of follow ups and constant setbacks! And to say the least, she has been worth the wait, and how!

Have driven her for nearly 1000kms till now and been surprisingly happy with the overall experience! Happiest of all seems to be my dad who is 60 plus and drives the Fortuner AT, keeps hinting at exchanging our cars every other days

Posting a couple of snaps of my ride and, will follow this thread more closely to share any feedback or support wherever required!

Happy motoring!

Jeep Wrangler copycat Mahindra Thar not coming to Australia.

Quote:
Following a protracted legal battle, Indian car-maker Mahindra has confirmed it will not bring the Jeep Wrangler copycat – the Thar – to Australia, despite trying to mount a new case to bring the off-roader here.

bought Thar top model. Or did I?

Hi Folks,

It's a weird question: Which Variant did I buy?

Last week, brought home Thar Diesel AT, 4X4 2023, LX. Supposedly its the top model. That is , with MLD.

Now the thing is, there is no way I could figure out whether I have been supplied a With MLD or Without MLD variant.
In short:
I went to showroom, finalised available diesel top, made dealer write all specs on deal sheet submitted to me (including mention of MLD). Now, what happened is that after paying the booking amount, I got an opportunity to negotiate and thus price was dropped.
Finally, when I received the invoice "the base price (ex showroom) of car was reduced" instead of issuing a discount.
Then, I went back to dealer and asked: Buddy, is it MLD or without MLD? Not that I care too much but I paid for MLD and hence I want the MLD. Dealer's argument is that they have not received any without MLD vehicle. Also, he says that ex showroom price was reduced as he offered the vehicle on last year's price instead of the new one, hence almost 50K were knocked off.

Dealer is insisting that it is with MLD but unable to provide me with any document or convincing argument to back that.

Is there a way to figure out? By visual inspection of some mech component or preferably by the model code?

Invoice says: Thar LX D AT 4WD 4S HT RED RG SE

If I am not wrong, there should be a sticker onthe Differential housing which would mention MLD on it.
