This is the hard top listing.

Boodmo

But what you are looking for is part of the door outer weather strip, which also has that top trim. I`m attaching the link below the picture. I suggest ordering it through ASC, generally parts quality is better than Boodmo.

@KosFactor, I am not talking of the door or its components. Do check in your Thar for the part I am talking about. (Share a pic if you can). It would be part of either the roof panel itself or an accessory for the roof panel.

This is a separate piece entirely.
It is a Mahindra Accessory called Rain Visor.
I have put it on the Thar from Day One.

I also have it on my Gypsy. (Bought on AmmaJaan Saar)

Shankar - no, not the rain visor (this one is stuck to the door frame). Even in the first pic of your post here, see above the rain visor.

That rain channel portion is not a separate part as far I remember . I think it is an integral part of the roof moulding itself. It is a contiguous part of the FRP moulded fore portion of the roof. I will take photos tomorrow and show you. But let me see tomorrow closely and reconfirm.

Thanks, Shankar. I too think it is an integral part of the roof moulding itself - A quick confirmation will do.

(Trying to find a channel for the same functionality, but on the Gypsy)

It is indeed an integral part of the FRP roof. Although it may not be intended to do a job of rain gutter, it does help a bit. This is where aftermarket luggage carriers hook into. I had the short luggage carrier from Bimbra, got it for Zanskar trip, it held it really well. However, over a few months, I felt it was overloading the overall roof so I removed it since it was not in use, only making aesthetics a bit better.

It is indeed as I earlier said, an integral part of the FRP roof.

Here are the pictures I just took.

The only way something of this kind can be done for a Gypsy is to fabricate a pair of Rain Channels and glue them strongly onto the FRP top. Otherwise just mount those visors and let them do the job.

Re: My 2021 Mahindra Thar LX MT Petrol HT - 29000 Kms Review!

It's wonderful to hear about your experience. I currently reside in Bangalore but pursued my engineering degree in Mangalore, and I absolutely adore that place.

I own a Thar Diesel and I'm contemplating a trip to Ladakh. Do you think I might encounter any DEF-related issues during the journey?

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Folks,

I bought a used Thar (2021 Diesel AT HT) a couple of months back. Have a couple of queries related to this

1. The previous owner had installed wheel-arch cladding, which I find a little over the top. Any suggestions on how to get rid of those? Would WD40 + muscle power be my go-to solution?

2. How do you folks keep the hard top black? Would a trim restorer be the right way to go here? Something like Turtle Wax Trim Restorer
https://www.amazon.in/Turtle-50601-T...845214-5629629

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

You'd want to use a heat gun and avoid scrubbing plastic too much. There is a 3m glue adhesive removing spray as well.

I'm playing it by ear for the trim restoration. I think personally repainting is the way to go in the future. Won't cost much and will look as good as new with known chemicals.

There are also some fancy metal hardtop options with panoramic sunroofs that may permanently alleviate the worn out look and also facilitate that sunroof clout club entry for the Thar, seeing as how the 5D will have one.

Can you put a pic? It ll help.
Then we can go and find out about this part. And see if we can adapt it for use on our Gypsys. A rain channel is an useful thing.

Took couple of pics, currently avoiding lifting for health reasons else would have opened the CT for better views.

Good you asked for the pic. Doesnt look adaptable. Seems to be part of a larger part of the CT roof.
