That is just a ploy to clear their (diesel) inventory. Stand your ground - your usage does not warrant a diesel, especially not at the cost of that lovely petrol powerhouse that the mStallion is I'm sure you will get it within a month or so.

The Mahindra Thar has reached the 1 lakh production milestone, less than 2.5 years since its launch in October 2020.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Can anyone help me with ones views on the Stepney cover? I have a thar in vicinity whose stepney was unscrewed in less than a minute and stolen. I thought of putting a small lock (in place given in the stepney) or a wire lock. But a hanging lock or something like that may not look nice on the stepney. So thought of getting a stepney cover and under it a lock can be put.
This might on one hand may not secure it 100% but I think it will be of great help.
Please suggest a link or reference for a strong stepney cover if anyone has one. TIA.
(I am seeing Automods cover online but not sure about the quality)

Farad Car Wheel Locks Anti Theft Fasteners for Xilo 2009>, XUV500 2011> https://amzn.eu/d/7F9SPaJ

This should solve the problem. You can also directly contact them for any of your doubts of usage or replacement of lost key socket.

No idea. But seem similar. These Farad guys are possibly the most well made and well protected anti theft nuts. Quite possible that mahindra is offering the same.

Could be, but Farad are for 4 wheels only. It is sufficient for normal vehicles whose 5th wheel is inside the boot, what about for this one?

Edit: Found it on their official site. They do offer for 5 wheels as well.

If functional upgrade is what your friend wants- go for Philips Rally halogen 130/110 with relay (₹1500-2000, i am using the same since a year, good throw even during rain).
If cosmetic +/- functional then there are many options in led mentioned in this thread .

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Hi All,

Are AVO suspensions any better than ARC? Is it worth the extra 50K?

I’ve been looking to upgrade and would have opted for the AVO ones, but they seem to be non responsive over email/WhatsApp. I believe they may be out of stock.

Is it worth the wait?

I am using FARAD lock nuts. It's a 5pcs set, one for each wheel.

I am eagerly waiting for reviews of these, but the single biggest problem with ARC & Ironman suspensions is the lack of reviews from BHPians. It seems no one has bought them yet. My main reason for going for AVO was feedback from BHPians and I must say, the suspension is absolutely top-class .

ARC has a poor review from a Senior BHPian - link to thread (Pathetic experience with ARC shock absorbers / dampers).

I hope to see more reviews of the other Thar suspension upgrades .
