I would like your suggestions on the list of enhancements am planning;

Official M&M - radiator gaurd, fuel tank gaurd, reverse camera and bug deflector.

Thank you
Congratulations and welcome to the Thar life
I have been happy with the stock tyres so can't comment on that. Unless the plan to climb walls haha, and proper off-road, the big burly tyres wil probably be an overkill. But you will have to take a call based on your use case

Accessories, i haven't installed mats but i think it's needed as it makes it easier to remove the mud etc.
Bug deflector - i have and find it useful
Rear cam - for sure
Dont know what the fuel tank guard is so can't say but radiator guard might be a good idea too.
Mud flaps are also needed.
You might want to look at a steering cover, I am so far okay without it.
I also got the front sensors, so as i don't scrape the ends while i get used to it but hardly ever used those.

The description does not instill confidence of its utility though

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

gentle guys, I have a question about the thar coolant. It looks pink when engine is cold but turns blue after a long drive. Is my eyes playing tricks on me. Can I use Toyota Super Long Life Coolant which is also pink in colour to top up the Thar coolant or do I need to top up exactly with same maximile ultra coolant that Mahindra uses. Dealer is slightly far away, and Toyota pink is available on boodmo. Kindly advice.

This is M&M's guidance -
Quote:
Brand Specific. Don't use other Coolants / Water for top up. In case of emergency, Coolant meeting JIS K2234 Specification should be used (30% Concentration Diluted with Distilled water) and coolant change period has to be reduced as 30,000 KM.

Use only distilled water to top up the coolant tank if you are not able to find Mahindra coolant locally. Then drive to the MASS at your convenience.

this distilled water addition may cause issues, because a while ago I had topped up with distilled water and some of it seems to have boiled out. Cap was tightly closed always, so one can rule that out.

See your car is loosing coolant. You do not know the root cause of the coolant loss. So until you reach MASS you need to top up the coolant reservoir. The best fluid is distilled water rather than some incompatible coolant. Once you have the proper coolant in hand, empty the coolant tank and fill it with the concentrate only. This way the concentrate will mix with the earlier filled distilled water and more or less settle at the required coolant:water ratio

my hood support retainer clip which is this flimsy little part
https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-clip..._rod-33062330/
had broken off some time ago due to my pulling the bonnet stay rod downwards, you need to very gently push it backwards out of the holder and only then pull it downwards, but due to it being night time I could not see that little detail. Anyway during later part of journey the bonnet stay rod was hanging down in the engine bay and may have caused some minor cracks in the coolant hoses (nothing is visible) or may have unsettled the coolant tank cap. That is the reason I had to top up with distilled water. Since then I have not bothered to top up with distilled water and the coolant seems to have found a steady level between max and min and it is staying there. I have also cleaned up the spill over throughly so that any further signs and I am off to the mahindra dealer service. Will keep updated.

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Hello Friends,

Finally brought home the Convertible Top Petrol Thar LX AT on 9th January 2022.

On the 8th January, I had just gone to take a test drive of the AT Thar (both diesel and petrol) and inquire about the Thar availability (given the legendary one year plus waiting periods), and surprise surprise, they had about 4 colour options readily available in stock for Petrol CT AT, including the colour of my choice 'Rocky Beige'.

I took the test drive of the Petrol AT, and as someone who has only owned and driven Diesel Cars (Diesel Fiat Punto and Diesel AWD Renault Duster), I was totally blown away by its pickup and how quiet the engine was. Like something, I had never ever imagined. I mean that good. Booked it right away, and took delivery of the car the very next day, 9th January. Only if there was a way to make the entire payment online to them the same day, I might have taken the delivery the very same day.

Having driven it for about 200 odd kms (got tested positive for Covid in between so couldn't drive around a lot), I have realised the one and only 'fly in the ointment' - the flip-flap noise of the convertible top above speeds of 70 Kms per hour. Is it the same for all?

Thanks in advance

Congrats mate! Looks like Petrol + CT is the variant to go for if one can't wait!!

I have a Diesel CT, and have posted an update on my jugaad with flapping noise in my ownership thread here -

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...ml#post5247181

You'll not completely get rid of it, but can reduce it by a very large extent. And opening up that CT will make you forget that minor noisy inconvenience too!

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Hello Thar Owners, I currently use a Yi Smart Dash Camera (Bought way back in 2017) on my Thar. Off late, it has started to throw some random errors.
I also have two action cameras which I previously used as front and rear dash camera on one car, Ecosport and the Yi dash camera on my Celerio. But now, Thar is my only car.

So, I plan to get a new Front and Rear Dual Dash camera setup on my Thar but there is a problem.
The upright Front and rear windshield makes it difficult to choose a dash camera. I don't plan to have a Rear view mirror mounted dash camera like from 70mai.

Any suggestions?

Re: Mahindra Thar : Official Review

Guys, I got a new floor mat installed today on my Thar. Honestly, this is one of the rarest high quality aftermarket accessories I found compatible for the new Thar. It snug fits perfectly and is of high quality too. Brand name is GFX Life Long from Galio India. Total damage incurred was Rs. 2800/- and I highly recommend this one for all Thar owners over the so called 7D types which in my opinion is a bit over done with its stitching design and asthetics. This GFX one goes very well with the rugged interior looks of our Jeep too..

Hi navpreet318

Here is the link where you can order it online.

However, I got it directly from their official distributor here in Bangalore and I highly recommend this product as quality is top notch.

Can somebody please post the image of power window wire loom which is connected to doors. I just want to see if the strap can pass two wires, from cabin to doors.
