More pictures. I don't know for sure where this has happened. I guess somewhere in Bangalore?

To console this small jolt, the SA said - Sir, you are atleast getting a 2022 Model and not 2021 unlike the Diesel guys. There is nothing called as price protection in Mahindra, even though you may have booked it before the price hike happened.
I had booked Black THAR LX AT Hard Top, on 5 sep 2021 near my place.
The quote given around that time was 17.50Lakhs On road, Ex showroom: 15,09,679.

Now the SA has contacted me for interest in buying a red thar, 2021 manufactured. He has also informed that around 65k price increase.

Googling for price increase turns up news about old price increase.

I am planning to just go and take a look at the vehicle, and get an exact quote before pulling the trigger.

As a first time car buyer anything that I should be wary of at this stage ?

I doubt if there is any red flag for now. Thar is selling like hot cakes. Someone would have canceled the booking. If you finalise the deal, do a thorough PDI and check VIN before making final payment.

Same happened with me, they were offering a 2021 model (Petrol models ofcours) readily available in December end. Red and Black AT, Grey Manual HT with next day delivery. But the SA was from the same place that I am from and said against it. I booked on 6th Jan 2022 and today my Thar LX Manual HT Petrol has already reached the dealership plus it is a 2022 model with 40k increased priced. Ex-showroom price is 13.79L.

Thanks for sharing.

I have been reading this thread regularly and in 2021 thar people were called by service center to do some updates, and even physical/machine part updates I forgot what these were exactly. And the infamous DEF issue.

Will 2022 model come with those updates already installed, will it have some improvements over the 2021 model ?

Any reason for not preferring 2021 model ?

I pity the person to whom this car will be sold. Hope the dealer don't do such stuff and use it as a display car.

I guess this crashed Thar was already sold and this incident occurred during the delivery.
Although not much of a damage, replacing the front bumper is only needed i suppose.

But has also didn't had any customer facing circulars for that. For my vehicle he said, its not urgent so I can get it done at my convenience, planning to go next month by my own to check what exactly are they changing. Anyone else who got a similar call here?
Moving this post here from the niggles thread -

I got a call about this earlier today, will be going on sometime next week.

What's surprising is I've never seen an issue with my radiator - be it leaks or heating in almost 23,000 KM of ownership of my Diesel AT!

I do appreciate the proactiveness of M&M, like always, though

I messaged the service manager at my service centre about this a few days ago when I read it here. I have had no response at all.

I am guessing either my Thar is not affected since it was manufactured in Oct.'21; or that the service centre has not heard about this and therefore do not have a response.

Cheers

Another instance of Engine failure on the Thar. This time it is a friends Thar which did 32,000 Kms. Surprised to see two instances.

Mahindra needs to do a root cause analysis and share its findings. We need ot understand why it is happening

Is it the mHawk Diesel or mStallion Petrol?

Mahindra should address the issue professionally.
