Re: Hyundai Creta : Official Review

Black Pearl completed the first service on Saturday (10-Oct) at 1333 km

As such there were no issues with the car and the service was mostly inspection and a wash. The HMP service was up to the mark. The car was washed well and sanitized before handing over to me. The cost paid was zero. It was good to note that the service bill included the Service Associate’s name as well as his body temperature. I had a good service run with the Honda ASS for the last five years. With Hyundai the beginning seems to be good and hope it stays the same way.

Mid of last week DCT Grey alloy was replaced with Diamond cut Alloy wheels. The latter enhances the look of the car, especially in the black shade. It is a pity Hyundai did cost cutting on this one and did not provide Diamond cut alloys even in SX(O) trim of DCT Turbo version . The below images speak for themselves:

Looks smashing! I'm thinking about getting my Grey alloys painted in black instead of exchanging them for Dual Tones. It will work out to Rs 8000 (with DuPont paint at Autotech, Delhi), offer some scratch resistance and also look a bit unique. Also planning o on getting the silver C pillar blackened @ Rs. 2000.

What do you guys think about this plan?

I've installed in my Creta 2017. You have to remove the cladding if you are opting for hardwire setup. No it doesn't void your warranty.

Re: Hyundai Creta : Official Review

Got a quote of around Rs. 13,000 from Bhagwati Motors in Karol Bagh for a 360 degree camera setup which can be integrated into the Hyundai screen. Wondering if it's just better to wait for 6 months or so till more options start entering the market.

Re: Hyundai Creta : Official Review

Hey Guys, anyone has got hold of OBD lock? Was thinking to get one as OBD (car's brain) may be the first thing a thief will try to hack into. Looking for something like in the link below.

This being just a mechanical device shouldn't void warranty as well. Any inputs are welcome.

I have just booked the Petrol SX(MT) and was looking to get 7D mats as soon as a car is assigned to me. How are the Autofurnish mats holding up ? Did you also consider Coozo mats ?

You could also check out the 3D Kagu mats. A bit more expensive but sleeker and better built.

Congrats on the new car booking.

The mats are just a month old – but seems good. It covers most of the area on the floor perfectly. Yes checked the Coozo mats also on Amazon. The cost was almost same, but nowhere it was mentioned for Creta 2020. Hence went for Autofurnish.

Re: Hyundai Creta : Official Review

Folks, I finally took delivery of my Typhoon Silver Creta SXO Diesel AT yesterday. The delivery process was handled really smoothly, and all things were absolutely in place even before I and my wife reached the dealership.

I have had a very pleasant booking and pre-delivery experience with the dealer Shivam Hyundai, and they delivered the car exactly 15 days after the date of booking, the only grouse being that I didn't have a car for a long enough test drive, but that was the situation with most other dealers.

Initial Impressions:

I filled up a full tank of diesel and replaced the air with nitrogen almost immediately after the delivery. As expected, tyre pressure was 44psi all around at the time of delivery, which was corrected to the recomnended standard while filling nitrogen.
1) The car feels really nice to sit in, and has that SUV-ish vibe to it, although it is really a crossover for all intents and purposes.
2) All the controls fall easily into place, and as such there are no issues, except the lack of illumination for power windows etc which are already highlighted in the official review here.
3) The car feels nimble enough to drive and manoeuvre, all round visibility is very good (better than Seltos I think) and the ORVMs do a good job of covering the side-rear view.
4) The diesel AT feels very linear, and can almost be anticlimactic at times, where you expect a lot of torque for very little rpm input. Of course it is very early days yet, but this is not a tarmac scorcher, although it has adequate power/torque when needed. That said, the power/torque delivery is better than the City's CVT (which I currently still have).

5) The AVN system is quite a handful and needs getting used to in terms of its plethora of options, although accessibility through physical buttons is a very important feature that Hyundai has provided.
6) The music system is good overall and the quality of output improves while playing newer recorded audio content. The mids are pretty crisp (guitars sound great on this). The lows are punchy, but not overpowering. Good job overall, although it won't transport you to musical heaven.

Today morning I took the opportunity to take her out for a longish spin on the Lavasa route. Our original plan was to go to up to Lonavala on the old Mumbai highway, but Mrs suddenly said why not Lavasa, and then we promptly went off the bypass via Sus road, on to Pirangut via Mulkhed/Ghotavade. And that really put the car's ride/handling to some test. The roads are at their pathetic best , in some sections, and the pwd authorities have lived up to their high standards of apathy. So, how did the Creta perform? I'd say quite well, although it wasn't bubbly soft, and had that underlying firmness to it.
In terms of handling, I kept the car well within limits, not exceeding 60-70 kph and it did quite well, with a hint of body roll, but not unnerving, and neither did the. steering feel out of place (although it didn't really talk back as much).
The trip average this 50 odd km was 15.8 kmpl on the dash. So its par for the course I think.

Now I'll let some pics do the talking.

Hey, congratulations on your purchase! That's one sleek colour. You've made a good choice by taking the diesel.

What are your plans for the tyres? Will you be replacing them or continue with the stock ones?

Congratulations once again!
Have a good one!!

Well, I am still in two minds. I have made some enquiries, and was told that Michelin or Yokohama are not available because of import restrictions (recent moves). Continental LX2 is available, but am not too sure. The dealer on his part said that the UX Royale is a tyre especially made for the SUV and need not be replaced immediately.

If you're fine with the tyre then it makes no sense in replacing them. But if you still feel like changing them, maybe after like 10k kms or so, do check out options online.
All the best once again.
Hope to see an ownership thread soon(?).

Re: Hyundai Creta : Official Review

Check out this auto accessories shop from Sector-17 Vashi, Navi Mumbai.

With these upgrades, anyone would be hard pressed to figure it out as base variant barring keen observers. IMO, the only remaining bits from making it complete for me is rear adjustable headrest and rear wipers. I so wish, RTO makes them as mandatory features from essential safety standpoint.

Re: Hyundai Creta : Official Review

As mentioned in my previous post, I have booked a Creta SX(MT)[P] and I am patiently waiting for the car to arrive. Meanwhile, I have been going through many Creta related threads I have now come across a lot of people complaining about a serious safety issue with brake related failures on Hyundai (mostly related to a the older gen Creta) and now even the KIA Seltos which is effectively the same platform. I am now in a bit of a bind as this is something that would be impossible to live with.

Would really appreciate if recent owners have any insights on this issue and can throw any light on this.

Links to some related threads below:

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techn...ll-owners.html (Hyundai Creta: Serious brake failure issue (must-read for all owners))
This thread is mostly related to the brake issue on the old gen Creta but some posts mention the new Creta having the possibility of this issue as well. Maybe it's too early to tell.

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...-response.html (Hyundai India - The occasional serious quality lapse and apathetic manufacturer response!)
CrazyDriver has compiled a list of threads which mention quality related issues with Hyundai and a lot of people have written about their experiences with Creta related brake malfunction and ABS related issues.
