Holy cow clap:! Those are the BEST rims I've ever seen on any Compact SUV. As a lover of 5-spoke starfish design wheels, I just cannot stop drooling over the looks & stance of your Sonet. Congrats!
Not sure about the 18" rim size though. I also run 18s on my car. Looks good, but has
disadvantages.

Won't change in wheel size change the speed calculations done by the ECU and thereby affecting the accuracy of trip meter, speedometer and also may be affecting the ABS and other functions?

Bro, I really don’t know about the ECU part, but the steering has become super smooth and the braking is fantastic. Continental tyre grip is amazing. Max Contact EC6 tyres cost a fortune too - Rs. 18,850 per tyre.

Ive heard that the seltos is up for a mid-life facelift which means that it will trickle down to the sonet too. Does anyone have any news of this and when it would reflect on our shores.

Yes sir. You are right. I am an Insurance Risk Analyst (Engg.). Insurance Companies will get notified well in advance for any new release (facelift or New Model) to conduct research and provide data for the actuaries to calculate the premium.
Activity has started (generally handled by Senior Automobile Analysts) and by looks of it, i would say release is expected Mid 2023 for facelifted Seltos & Sonet and the introduction of New Kia Sportage.
What average does the 2020 HTK+DCT(Now discontinued) diesel give in the city(Bombay).
Hello BHPian's. Hope you all are going well.
Went ahead and booked KIA Sonet Diesel AT GTX Plus in Imperial Blue. Now the waiting starts which is 23 weeks and I am just done with 4 weeks. Long way to go.
Let me explain why I picked this car / model. First let me tell you all what I drive now. I drive Ecosport DCT 2015 model and my wife drives i10 AT 2012 model. As i10 is 10 years old, felt it was time to let go of i10 and bring in a new car. Life has other plans. 3 weeks back transmission error popped up in my EcoSport and it is with the mechanic awaiting few sensors since last 3 weeks. So now contemplating of letting go Ecosport after the repairs are done instead of i10. Would like to know what would be BHPian's opinion on this.
Now coming to picking up KIA Sonet Diesel AT. My commute from home - office - home is 90 plus kms each day 6 days a week if I take the NICE toll road or 70 plus kms if I take the city (Bangalore BHPian's will know what it is to dive from BEL circle to Electronic City I st stage). As wife also drives, it had to be AT as she is not comfortable with Manual / AMT / IMT and she wanted a car with tall seating. We do highway trips every six months.
Did look at SELTOS and CRETA. Felt it is too big just for the two of us. So keeping in mind the kms I cover every day, hope my decision of picking up KIA SELTOS Diesel AT GTX Plus is the right choice? Please do let me your opinion.
Thanks

Those are some good looking rims there!! However, I am really curious to know about the ride post the upgrade. As we know, the ride with the stock 16 inchers in itself is a tad firmer, I wonder how it would fair on the 18's.
Also, if you could also give insights on the other aspects about the handling , steering manners, etc. would be great.
Thanks!
Hello eminent members of team bhp
Here are a few more photos of my new kia sonet htk+ modified with 235/40/R18 continental tyres fitted on 18 inch hyper silver alloy wheels.
Enjoy life and drive safely.
Two days before, I had driven a Seltos diesel AT, and found the suspension too stiff in city. Today morning I was taking a spin in a Sonet diesel MT, but pleasantly got surprised with it’s absorbent ride quality. It felt way better than Seltos. Has Kia done some changes to the suspension set up of Sonet? Is the ride of MT diesel & AT diesel same? After today’s drive in Sonet, I have started liking the car. I think AT with more power will be more enjoyable than the MT.
Your comments please.
Thanks

There are differences in the suspension tunes of Seltos & the Sonet right from Day 1. The Sonet rides relatively softer than the Seltos.
Sonet MT as well as the AT; both, have the same suspension set-up.
Having said that, Kia have soften the suspension of the 2022 Seltos ; but not quite sure how well it has been improved. Maybe the recent owners can share some insights.
But again, car to car; the Sonet definitely rides softer than the Seltos. :thumbs up
On a side note, don’t forget to check the tire pressures in the TD cars; they’re generally inflated to as high as 38 psi levels !!
In my experience, my SONET D AT rides the BEST with a 32 psi set-up & that is what I usually maintain within city limits. For the highway trips & with full load I bump it upto 35 psi max.
Hello BHPians !
I would like to know from the Kia sonet owners whether anything besides insurance is overpriced or charged unnecessarily or charged higher in the below mentioned quote. I see insurance is grossly overpriced, but I am wondering why the registration charges are ₹1855. Kia site mentions ₹855 only too. Anything else I should be aware of? Please reply ASAP. Thanks
Hey everyone,
I'd like to ask about the safety/perceived safety of Sonet.
While I have a booking for a diesel HTX AT, a friend of mine discouraged me from going ahead with the purchase citing the underwhelming safety of Seltos based on the GNCAP results.
While the variant comes with 4 airbags, and has things like ESC.. This is going to be my first car and I'm confused as to how I should proceed?
Kindly advise.
