Totally agree with you. It really looks massive and it has a solid road presence. It’s a shame that such a vehicle doesn’t have a 4WD option. I hope Tata comes up with the 4x4 version of Harrier very soon.

Looking for advice.

Got my car washed at Tata Authorised Service Centre yesterday. Just wash nothing else.
My car is displaying check engine light since then.

Any idea why did this happen ?
I will go to workshop today to see error code and diagnostics.
But what could be possible reasons ?

IMO, inside bonnet spray, polish or cleaning could be the culprit but I am more interested in knowing which part inside bonnet would this wash/spray/polish have affected ?

Just finished a round trip from Bengaluru to Tirupathi. Drove the car in economy most of the time , she sat happily around the 110kmph mark. She returned 17.6 kms per litre.
family loved the music system and enjoyed the panoramic sunroof when it was raining.
Completely happy with the purchase.

I know this is subjective, but I feel that the Harrier is definitely a He. A suave, refined, stylish He, but He nevertheless!

Rodents have been visiting engine bay recently and guess what, they messed up something and my fuel guage now shows nothing , even check engine lamp is solid



I'm literally pissed of with them, even put up a mesh covering the entire bottom, still they manag to get in from the gap between the wheel





Even tried the anti rodent spray, I'm out of ideas. Btw, my parking is clean and does not offer any buffet for rodents

Any ideas are welcomed !

One of the watchmen in our colony had advised us to tie some tobacco in a muslin cloth and put that in the engine bay. I haven't tried that, but I just changed the parking and got our association to tackle the rodent problem as a whole.

Thanks for the suggestion, had tried that on my older car and it didn't work for me, guess these gangster rats might just smoke them as beedis. I just inspected the damage, and to my surprise it is not in the engine bay but near the fuel tank, it has chewed off the wire (red one) by looking at the thickness and more strands of the the wire I think it is mostly of the fuel pump

I feel it is dangerous to start the car, so I have called Tata motors road side assistance and getting my car towed to the nearest service centre.

On the lighter note, since the fuel prices are going up, may be these rodents wants to loot them and sell in black

Is there any news of a facelift for the Tata Harrier? Considering that Hyundai has one around the corner for the Creta launched in Sept 2020 (updated Harrier was launched in August 2020). There is a scope to incorporate quite a few features from the Tata Safari.

To start with, all open holes/entry points were tightly closed either with a mesh or packed with gravel. Week 1- we tried Roban (Bromadiolone) without any results. Week 2-3: Next weapon from our arsenal was Ratol (Zinc Phosphide) placed liberally around the entire parking area.

From 3rd week onwards, as per our helpful security guard and facilities folks, they were convinced movement of Rats reduced compared to earlier. After a week, we found a large dead rat inside the bonnet of our brand new car. Alerted to open the bonnet only because it started stinking . Curiously we noticed rats preferring to target vehicles which were used and thereby still warm, compared to those lying idle (cold!) for long.

Tata Harrier is the one benefitting from the XUV700 long pending orders it seems. TML sold a whopping 4832 units of HARRIER & SAFARI models in OCTOBER 2021, outselling all direct competitors and second only to the Innova Crysta in its price bracket !

TML sold almost double that of what MG sold in this festive season, despite charging a lot premium over MG and available only in diesel fuel option.



Harrier looks like a curious case of study, seems to be the only car in our market which got rejuvenated itself from figures as low as 300 units in its hard times. Gorgeous design and constant updates by TML made this SUV so popular.

I am thinking of fitting side steps on my Harrier. Appreciate if someone can clear some doubts.

Main reason I am thinking of this is, when I get in and out of the car, the sides of the seats get compressed a lot. Over the years I few that the seat might get damaged. I am 5 ft 7 for reference, and own a dark edition XZA+.

Has anyone fitted side steps to their Harrier? If yes, is there any negative impacts in terms of ground clearance?
