I own a May 2021 manufactured White Harrier XZA with 6k on the odo. I noticed yesterday that there is a spot on the bonut where the paint has peeled off.
Anybody in the forum who have come across such a thing? What is to be done?

I have similar spots but its not a peel of but stone chips.. I have one in bonnet, and couple of then on my side doors. Even one on the windshield.

It is stone chipping. Me too have a couple of stone chippings on bonnet and other places. It is inevitable and one solution is to go for ppf but I decided to live with the same

I have Feb 2021 manufactured Harrier XZ+ White colour. Even my car has small round area (approximately 3 mm in diameter) on bonet where paint is peeled off and it has started rusting. Don't know how it developed. Worrisome part is the rust.
What can be done? Any suggestions?

My car will soon be due for 2nd free service. I'll bring this to the notice of the showroom. Will see what they do. Shall keep you posted.

Cheers

I can suggest a tried and tested fix (jugaad). In 2014, some mischieveous person randomly threw a small stone towards the road from around 50-75meters away as the signal turned green and cars started moving forward beyond an intersection. Unfortunately, it hit my car on front fender, near the bonnet. It created a hairline crack in the paint along with a minor dent of 2mm wide x 4mm long.

I failed to realize that the crack will rust and it happened in a few months.

I took white paint from the paint booth of the FIAT service center (my punto is white in colour) and applied it carefully under and along the crack to fill it properly. I did not have space to clear the old rust because the rust was underneath the paint that had lifted off. It has been seven years now and I have no issues at this spot.

Those who do not live in coastal areas can surely reduce or arrest the corrosion significantly with this method without the need to paint the entire panel.

Went in for the second service on 11th. Alignment/balancing was carried out the day before. The left pull is almost resolved now. ASC claims they checked the steering calibration. For the vibration, it's yet to test.

Need advice on Harrier 235/65/R17 tyres

I went on my first drive on Yamuna Epressway with recommended air pressure of 33 but the car had plenty of vertical movement and it was very uncomfortable for family including me. I reduced the air and things became little better.

Is it a tyre problem? Should I upgrade my tyres? Or can it be something else?

If Tyres are a problem, which tyre should I upgrade to?
My stock tyres are Apollo Apterra HP. What is the review of these stock tyres?

Is it advisable to upgrade the tyres to Continental ContiCrossContact™ UHP or some other tyre?

Please respond soon as I need to tke action asap to prevent miles on current tyres.

Would advise you to speak to SC. It’s least likely to be an issue with the tyres, unless you have found something while inspecting them. I have same stock tyres in my car, but I haven’t had such experience till now (60% of my driving is on highways). Apollo Apterra may not be best in this class, but it won’t be very realistic to expect such a drastic improvement by switching to Continental or Bridgestone.

As recommended - 33 PSI for highways. Little higher in the city.

Due to my previous highway experience, I brought it down to 30 to make ride comfortable.

Anything that I can check as reason behind stiff ride ?

Never under-inflate a tyre for road use, It is not meant to take over the role of your suspension. Your vehicle will understeer \ oversteer in situations it is not supposed. Inflate your tyres to the recommended pressure before it gets driven - that is cold air pressure.

Even I keep the air in between 30psi to 33 psi. I never found the ride stiff, in fact, it absorbs the bumps with ease and I have never experienced any vertical movement.
Biggest testimonial for that is my mother, she has a serious motion sickness problem in the car. In fact, she cannot travel even for short distances without feeling sick. I took her to Jaipur from Meerut, and believe me she did not ask me to stop the car even once due to motion sickness and she was very happy about it. So, I don't think one should face vertical movement in Harrier unless the road is way too bad.

Try to clock in some more mileage on the odometer if your vehicle is new. It also depends on from which vehicle you have moved to Harrier, maybe it is psychological in case your earlier vehicle's suspension is comparatively soft and that's why you are feeling so.
