Guys, finally got hold of my Endeavour Having driven ~500 km so far, the experience is surreal to say the least. I have already summarized my observations in this (Ford Endeavour 2.0L Diesel AT : Official Review (with dune bashing)) post above.

Congratulations on your black beast . The Endeavour is really pulling me towards it, but limited colour options and the lower power is the only obstacle but as a whole package it’s hard to beat it! The interiors are premium, is features loaded even after Ford’s feature deletions. Will post my decision between the Endeavour and Fortuner soon.

Enjoy your beast to the fullest .

Re: Ford Endeavour 2.0L Diesel AT : Official Review (with dune bashing)

Got a call from the dealer today saying Black T+ 4x4 is available as the person who had booked is unable to arrange the loan.
Is there any scam behind this? This is my 1st car so not much aware of how it works and behind the scenes. I said I will visit for PDI on Monday and then process the remaining payment.

Thanks in advance!

Not necessarily. It is not uncommon for customers to back off at the last minute. As long as the car is a recent manufacture (VIN no. should indicate that), I'd say you go for it.

Okay i thought the same too. Will check the VIN. I will search across Team-BHP for PDI list, is there anything specific to check for Endeavour?
Again thanks a lot in advance!

Have attached the PDI checklist I used. Nothing specific outside of regular checks. Odo should not be more than 50 km, depending on stockyard location of the dealer.

On the VIN - it is very simple. Ford India uses the following VIN format:

MAJAXXMRWAMU12345

11th figure indicates year of manufacture - 'M' in above sample denotes a 2021 manufactured vehicle

12th figure indicates month of manufacture - 'U' in above sample denotes a Feb manufactured vehicle. Alternately, if it is 'J' in the 12th place, it would indicate a Jan manufactured vehicle. The car should have one of these two. If not, you better drop it as it would be a 2020 manufactured one.

Hope this help! All the best

Did the PDI, did not spot any issue. VIN number is MAJAXXMRWAMM10**2.
11th figure is M which is 2021,
12th figure is also M, which I think is supposed to be this march i.e., this month's vehicle.
The loan document is submitted and is in the process as Banks are closed due to strike. The loan amount is 30% of the total cost which I think should be released in time. Since PDI went fine, can I go ahead and release 50% of the payment as requested by the dealer?

Yes feeling lucky, icing on the cake is the delivery date which coincides with my b'day!

Well, sincere thanks to you as I followed your research and posts across different threads in regards to this car. That helped me a lot in deciding.

Lucky you! Many congratulations.

My wait continues, the car has been dispatched though. The Dealer shared the VIN #, it's march mfg. Eagerly waiting!

Thank you! If your car has been dispatched then your wait is short-lived Going by transit time for me (Chennai to Bangalore took 3 days), you should have your car in Pune within 10 days or so. That is still way too less than my wait of 77 days!!

All the best!

Mine got dispatched from Chennai yesterday and the dealer says will take another 7-10 days. The VIN denotes March manufacture.

Waiting is a bummer...

Yes the dealer said it will take 6 days. Then the PDI and registration etc. Expecting delivery in last week of March

77 days is long! I booked on 20th Feb, so relatively quicker.
