What's interesting is that the picture doesn't show where the power input for the charging pad is connected. I'm guessing it goes into the 12V socket right up there. Quite foxy on the part of the marketing team to simply erase that from the CAD image to make it look better than it would in reality.

Or that installation wire of INR 410 actually goes as concealed under the dash into the fuse-box? That would be a good thing if true!

It doesn't go to the 12V socket. The connection is taken from the ORVM switch and is a coupler to coupler connection. Details in this video by XRoader_001 (Dr. Parvez.) . I don't intend to fix this in my car as I don't have a phone that supports wireless charger and I may not go for such a phone.

Has someone tried to find a grille replacement for the new brezza which looks less ostentatious and isn't a direct replica of the jeep one? Or perhaps any color modification of the existing grille. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I find the new grille absolutely hideous.

Agree. The OEM grille looks gaudy. Saw some Brezza's on road with completely black Range Rover type grille looking great. Change the entire character of the car. Check out the ones on Amazon though they don't have very good reviews but then some accessories shop near your place would certainly have some options.

Thank you All for an amazing thread on the Brezza Petrol,The Indepth discussions and comments help a lot of people like me,

I have purchased a Manual Brezza Zxi+ Petrol on the 11th of July after comparing it with Ecosport,Nexon,Venue. I picked the Brezza over these because of the two reasons below.

1) The 3 cylinder engine in those cars as I was replacing a beat diesel which had a 3 Cylinder engine and it sounded like a tractor after the first couple of years and these turbo petrols are yet to prove themselves too.

2) Resale Value - I don't keep a car for more than 7 years the Brezza is my 4th vehicle and I sold all 3 before it after 5-7 years so resale value is quite important for me, I brought an Alto Lxi in 2007 for 3.1 OTR and sold it for 1.75 in 2012 with 75k km on the odo, Beat LS Diesel was brought for 6L OTR in 2012 and got sold for 1.6L in 2020 with 85k km on odo so very bad resale value (took me 1 year to sell it for 1.6L too)

The Brezza Petrol ticks all the boxes of daily commute vehicle for me, It's called a Vanilla car but Vanilla is the largest selling ice-cream flavor in the world.

Further details will follow in my ownership review which is in progress.

This was thought before the launch but they are not going ahead with it due to the increase in cost Will take the manuals price up quite a bit.

Here is the Invoice folks,

45% Tax on a Car GST + Cess

I got a 20k covid-19 special discount on an ex showroom value of 998k.

Total Price OTR was 11,93L with 3Yr Zero Depreciation + Engine Protection + Return to Invoice Insurance policy and 5 yr Extended Warranty.

10k additional for OEM seat covers & mats which came with 1 year warranty so effectively 12.13L.

I was looking out for a car to replace my Beat Diesel LS (2012 81K Done Sold for 1.6L ☹) as it has started giving major issues, My Experience with the Beat D has not been good specifically after Chevrolet’s exit from India.

I wanted a vehicle with good ground clearance and nice road presence within a budget of INR 12L OTR, I was keen on Petrol as the Initial cost of owning a BS6 Diesel Engine along with Prices of Fuel, Spares & Maintenance makes it expensive for my usage of around 25 km per day during week days and upto 50 km on weekends.

I test drove the Ecosport,Venue,XUV300,Nexon & Brezza and have also listed the variants which fit in my budget, Do note that all these details are based on my personal experience during test drives and everyone might not have a similar view,

All of these are MT models only.

Ecosport 1.5 Titanium - 2 test drives, Excellent handling with brilliant steering control and road grip the driver seat is good and space is adequate, Rear legroom & shoulder room are a little short but manageable and it has all the features that I wanted so Heart says book the Ecosport but Mind says Hold on.

Venue SX 1.0 Turbo - 1 test drive, The venue is a very deceiving vehicle, It Looks huge from outside but is cramped inside, rear legroom and shoulder room are less even though it has good headroom and tallest seat of all the vehicles, Its loaded with features including a sunroof but is short in overall cabin space and looks like a hatch back from the rear.

XUV 300 W6 - 1 test drive, Good space inside and comfortable driving position, but white interior with least boot space among the lot and the pricing is not competitive at all, Come on Mahindra No Reverse Camera or Sensors No Auto AC, No Alloy Wheels in a Car that’s 11L+ OTR.

Nexon XZ+ - 1 test drive, Good space and amazing interiors the best audio setup of all the cars in the list, It has a fully digital instrument cluster, drive modes, traction control, hill hold etc., but my wife didn't like the white stripes which run across the car and also the X design at the rear which is a standard on all colors and as Red is my preferred color the white stripes were looking odd on it.

Brezza ZXI+ - 2 test drives done and first observation is the seating position you are clearly able to view till the end of the bonnet, driver seat is comfortable and space is adequate, good rear leg & shoulder room, sadly Brezza misses the rear AC vents and some new features offered on the Venue & Nexon but everything else is good, Standard black Interior with a dash of silver, I was surprised by the good audio output quality and it was not expected from the Brezza, I did a little research and was thrilled to find out that Maruti Suzuki Smart Play Studio is a Harman Kardon OEM head unit with speakers so very satisfied here I don’t know why folks at the Showroom are ignorant about this USP that the Brezza has a similar Harman Kardon setup like the Nexon, Top of the line ZXI+ variant is within my budget whereas all the other vehicles are one or two variants down from the fully loaded top end, Maruti’s wide service network and resale value are a big plus.

So I have short listed the Ecosport and the Brezza as the two finalists and based on the below factors Brezza emerges as a winner over the Ecosport, Do note that these are purely my personal opinions.

1) Brezza has a proven K15 4 cylinder NA Engine and these engines are stable and refined versus the 3 Cylinder Turbo engine in the Ecosport as well as all the other cars in the list, TC Petrol Engines are yet to prove themselves, The Beat had a 3 Cylinder and vibrations started after 2-3 years of ownership and by the time I sold it the engine was almost sounding like a tractor.

2) Claimed Mileage in the Ecosport was 15.9 versus 17.03 for the Brezza, FE is a major factor as this vehicle will be used for my daily commute.

3) Resale value for the Brezza is higher than the Ecosport I change my car every 5-7 years and this will be my 4th vehicle after Ford Escort, Alto, Beat So resale value is also a deciding factor here, I brought an Alto for 3.1L OTR in 2007 and sold it for 1.75 in 2012 whereas the Beat was brought for 6.3 OTR in 2012 and finally got sold for 1.6L in 2020 after a lot of efforts.

4) Auto IRVM, Cruise Control, Cooled Glove Box, Rain Sensing Wipers, Auto Headlamps, Android Auto, Voice Commands & Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels are additional features in the Brezza ZXI+ versus Ecosport Titanium.

5) Brezza is the undisputed leader in sales charts backed by Maruti’s wide service network, It is called Vanilla but Vanilla is the largest selling Ice-Cream flavor in the world.

Why top end ZXI+ why not ZXI which is almost 1L cheaper

1) It's fits in my budget of 12L OTR

2) Diamond cut alloys change the look of the vehicle a lot

3) Auto Headlamps,Auto Dimming IRVM,Auto Folding ORVM,Rain Sensing Wipers,Arm rest,Reverse Camera, cooled Glove Box,2 tweeters and many more minor tweaks - Honestly my wife liked all the small nitty gritties so I didn't have a choice.

I have placed a booking for Brezza ZXI+ Dual Tone (Red & Black) with a dealership near my home in Hyderabad by paying the booking amount of 5K and was given a waiting period of 2-4 weeks and there was no update or follow up after 2 weeks so I started ringing other dealers in Hyderabad and checking if anyone has the Vehicle in my preferred color but everyone were trying to convince Me to take Single Tone White, Silver or Grey which they had in stock, Finally I got in touch with a dealership which was expecting a vehicle in a couple of days (vehicle in transit) and the customer who booked it initially got convinced and took a Grey Single Tone, I immediately told the Sales Executive to block the vehicle and transferred the booking amount of INR 5k.

Next I approached the first dealership where I booked the vehicle initially and cancelled the booking I am waiting for a refund of INR 4.5k after deduction of .5k as cancellation charges.

The Sales Executive in the second dealership (Jagan @ Gem Motors Kondapur) was very helpful and pro-active, he connected me to the Loan Executive from SBI, I had to visit a Car Loan Hub which was around 5km from my place and all the documentation including the loan agreement with signatures was sorted in less than 3 hours (fastest in SBI ever),After a couple of telephonic verification calls the Loan was disbursed within 2 working days to the Showroom.

So here are the pricing details.

Brezza ZXI+ Dual Tone Ex Showroom - 978,000 (20k Covid-19 Discount on Ex Showroom)
Road Tax @ 12% - 117,360
Insurance (3YR ZeroDip,EP,RTI) - 71,420
5Year Extended Warranty - 16,968
Hypothecation Fees - 1,500
Temporary & Permanent Registration Charges - 1,625
Fast Tag - 600
MS Rewards - 885
Accessories (Seat Covers,Mats,Mud Flaps) - 10790
Sub Total - 1,199,148

Loan Processing Fees - 4484 (incl 18% GST)
Loan Stamp Duty & Franking - 5310 (incl 18% GST)

Grand Total - 1,208,942/-

Maruti Suzuki really has their dealers on the leash the price of the vehicle is almost same in all the 3 dealerships I visited and no additional discounts or goodies, Loan Amount was 9,50,000 from SBI on a 7 Year Repayment Term,so my down payment was 2,58,942/-.

All the Folks at Gem Motors were very helpful and agreed for a delivery on Sunday as it was auspicious day, So I went to the Dealers place on Saturday to complete formalities like T/R, Delivery Challan Acceptance and etc as these cannot be done on sunday as most of their staff has their weekly off, The vehicle was ready so I did a PDI as T-BHP Check List before signing the documents and I was given an in-depth explanation about all the features of the vehicle.

Here are the pics during My PDI

I got the Pooja done at a local temple after requesting them for a long time as all sevas / pooja's in temples have been banned and only darshan is allowed.

Overall a good experience and there was a follow up call from the Customer Care Team at Gem Motors after each step of the process.

Here are a few inital observations after 950 kms on the odo meter.

Road Presence - The new Brezza has the sizzling red color which is a brighter red than the previous Brezzas marronish red so a head Turner for sure also the dual tone is a copy from the Range Rover Evoque.so overall it has good road presence

Build quality - The best so far from the Maruti Suzuki Stable only one to have 4 star rating,we can't compare it with others like the Nexon but versus other Marutis this one is definitely good.

Handling - Good Handling and cornering but ecosport is the leader in this segment.

Driving Comfort - Excellent view from the driving seat you can see till the end of the bonnet and very comfortable seating and back support the best in all cars I test drove, Maruti truly knows seating well.

Interior quality - Better than previous Maruti quality but definitely a lot of scope for improvement Rear AC vents are a big miss and are a USP in others like Venue & Nexon.

OEM Audio Setup - very good thanks Maruti for upgrading to Harman Kardon, the only backdrop is that we have to connect our phone with USB only when Navigation is needed.

Engine - Excellent response during acceleration and it's so silent that you don't even know if the car is running, The 1.5L engine is a perfect match to the body and never feels under powered, FE figures are a bit confusing between 13-16 but I think things will settle down after 5k km.

Brakes - Good Braking both in straight line as well as curves the pedal is a little soft but has very good control so all happy here.

Air Conditioner - The Auto A/C is very efficient and cools the cabin quickly and even the rear passengers are happy with it.

Bodyroll - Very Slightly observed if you are on a curve at high speed or taking a turn suddenly but much lesser than the body roll in XUV300.

Service - 1st free Service at 1k km ,2nd free Service at 5k km and third free service at 10k on post which the service interval is every 10k km.

1st Service - Done at 980 KM just a check up and wash done in 2 hours, quite a pleasant experience next service due at 5k KM.

Warranty - 5YR or 1Lac KM warranty is definitely worth going for at INR 16968.

Insurance - Maruti has tie up with all providers so I got it from ICICI Lombard and its a Zero Depreciation + Engine Protection + Return to Invoice for 3 years so I need not pay anything else for next 2 years too.

After Market Add-ons - very few as the Zxi+ was already loaded with features.

1) PVC Full Floor Matting - 3k as the carpet matting provided by MS is too fragile and thin as per my observation.

2) Side Beading - 2k protection from other car doors when placed in parking.

3) Ipop Door Protectors - 300 rs protection for our doors from other cars, walls, pillars etc.

Overall Verdict - I would rate the Brezza 4 out of 5 as it ticks most boxes and is definitely for someone who is looking for a hassle-free vehicle supported by good after sales service and decent resale value in the future.

Congratulations on the new car arcotsrinivas, wishing you many years of trouble free miles. A 4 star GNCAP car from Maruti seems desirable indeed. Do update on your experiences.

Would like to point out that the K15 series of engines are quite recent, however since they come from Maruti we can expect the usual proliferation due to the volume but if it is proven, is yet to be seen. Also the EcoSport 1.5 L 3 cyl. petrol does not have a turbo. The erstwhile 1.0 L EcoBoost was a turbo and has since been discontinued.

I was surprised to know, Brezza equipped with Harman Kardon Music system. Other cars in the Maruti lineup got it too? I couldn't find any information about the same on Maruti website though.

I don't think the speakers are Harman made. They don't have any branding anywhere. They are supremely cheap too, around 500 for a speaker and 180 odd rupees for the tweeter. But yes, the Smartplay studio is developed by Harman. A pic from the unit on my car:

It surely sounds better and is much more intuitive to use than the old Bosch unit.

Thank you Sandix the K15 Engine is in the Ciaz,Ertiga, XL6 for quite some time now and after using a 3 Cylinder car for 8 years I was somehow not convinced to buy it again,my friend brought a petrol Nexon at the same time as mine and the engine has a hissing sound already

I might not be sure but I feel the unit is manufactured by them as it has AHA Internet Radio which is an OEM Harman product.
