As i wasn't happy with so called bose audio in my 2019 Seltos gtx dct plus, I had upgraded the front and rear speakers to jbl stadium (front) and another pair of jbl coaxial speakers at the rear. Also got the doors damped.

While this improved the sound quality a lot, I feel it is still not as great as it should be. I was looking at replacing the bose amplifier in the car with an aftermarket one to achieve this.

Request inputs / guidance on the same if any fellow seltos owners have replaced the bose amplifier.

Hi,
Most times, not all, there is a very strong petrol smell when I start the car(GTX DCT).
I don't get this inside the car but those outside get it.
Have not noticed any leakage. What could be the issue and does it have to be looked at immediately.

I find the auto AC functioning in my Seltos to be a little odd. When it is sunny and hot outside, keeping the temperature set to about 25 cools the cabin. However when it is not so warm (evenings, early mornings), even setting it to 22 throws air which can be called 'room temperature'. This results in no cooling and I have to then set it to 21 or even 21.5 and suddenly it starts cooling again.

Broadly I understand what is happening. The AC is working harder when it is hotter outside. But in the end what matters is what is the temperature I have set for myself inside. In cloudy weather, it need not work so hard, but it should still keep it 22 if I want it 22. It clearly does not and it feels more like 28 or so.

I am not sure if all auto ACs work like this, but to me this defeats the purpose of auto AC. If on any given day I pass through a series of shaded and sunny areas, I have to keep adjusting the set temperature.

At the risk of stating the obvious, have you checked that the fuel tank cap is tightly closed after refilling? Pump attendants aren't always diligent about this.

I too have noticed and I think this could be due to the turbo “warming” up when the car starts. During this phase there is extra rpm and engine sound even when idling.

The more technical members can correct me here

Got my Seltos HTX IVT serviced for 3rd year over the weekend, costed 4000rs in Bhopal, would call that cheap. Also got the headlight realigned with the help of the chart sent by Kia to SC and the throw now feels much better.

Also had the issue of driver seat height adjust, it would not hold the height on top and kept going down slowly over the time. I had been complaining about this since 1st services but SC as usual didnt do much and kept telling always that they have done the tightening where needed. But this time i stood in front and got the seat opened before me and they themselves changed the metal circular part of height adjust (which has teeth inside for upward and downward movement) with a new one, under warranty, and now the problem is finally solved.

Kia india shared a teaser to celebrate 5 lakh unit sales of seltos while the teaser doesn’t reveal much but it could be a special edition or may be 2023 seltos facelift announcement but interestingly it will coincides with the unveil of Honda Elevate slated for tomorrow.

You can't, you can however get aftermarket plug and play BT converters for Android Auto.

For 10.25inch screen, no. For the smaller screen, yes it can be added via software update.

Recently we had checked out the Sonet at Kia dealership. However, upon insistence of the Sales Person, we tested the Seltos as well. Now, the sales person has called saying that - Seltos Facelift guaranteed launch by July last week and they're unofficially taking bookings for the same.

Have any other members gotten any such information?

Yes you are right the facelift is expected by July end and dealership's are unofficially taking booking, I have booked in the month of May 2022 and after few days I came to know facelift is launched internationally and had no urgency to take the car, since I had other cars to travel I kept the booking on hold. Eventually today got a call from my sales advisor stating that he will convert my booking for facelift model.

During my current trip to the hills, I also noticed excessive smell of petrol after I reached my destination.
Luckily there was no traffic jam, and the car was on the move for the full ride uphill. The turbo was definitely engaged for the full time, so my hunch is that its the turbo that leads to the petrol smell (
as similar smell comes up during initial turbo spooling on cold start)
Now it can also be bad fuel or poor filter. I will definitely will take this up with ASS and update here.

On another note, what is the best way to drive downhill in DCT variants? I want to maximize engine braking without putting too much pressure on the turbo. Is driving in sports mode a good idea? It automatically maintains lower gears. Or would it be better to engage manual mode (in 2nd gear)?

It is recommended to shift to manual mode while going downhill in DCTs and use appropriate gears to maintain engine breaking and speed.
