The same has been confirmed by the MD of MG Motors India, Mr Rajeev Chaba in reply to a tweet.
Offered to replace the car? That is the best possible solution that a customer with a defective vehicle can get.

Instead of taking a replacement, he is 'running' around with a donkey. The donkey will have better brains.

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

How come the insurance "3Year OD+ Zero Dep" for Hector Style D is more expensive than Compass Sport via HDFC Egro "coverfox".

Current set of events along with synthetic resurrection of MG brand, and a car-Hector that has nothing British about it, warrants scrutiny of all past associated dots and connect them to figure out the claimed infallibility.

As of now what we have realized so-far:

MG brand - motley
Hector vehicle - aka Chevy Captiva, which is not garnering positive review worldwide
Management - questionable past
Petrol Hector - extreme low mileage - under-performing not even adequate
Diesel Hector - unreliable due to clutch burning issues

And indeed lots of features or blings, that may fade away soon. In short, unreliable vehicle, negative customer centricity, questionable past of leadership and a fake brand.

Overtly critical. For every dissatisfied customer, there are ten satisfied ones. I trust nothing more than the Team BHP review, which was pretty positive, especially for the diesel variant.

So I'd say it all depends on ones' requirements. For a family cruiser, SUV with oodles of space, the Hector ticks the right boxes.

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

Here's all that's covered under the MG Shield Protect Plans. There are three plans: Classic, Premium and Elite.

It makes a lot of sense for one to avail the protect plans as you're safeguarded for 5/7 services depending on whether you choose the 3 yr/5 yr plans.

Note: I need to check with MG regarding the engine oil. This particular dealer claims that it's supposedly non synthetic oil. But the service intervals are pretty comfortable so....a cross check with MG would bring no harm.

This is the problem when a lazy sales manager offloads all typing work to the receptionist girl, who can't say no. Strut is spelled "street" and rear shocks are mentioned, however front shocks/struts are not.

This is a dealer prepared list. I don't think I've found any dealer who knows what proofreading means

Infotainment damages / failures not included

That's the only selling feature of this internet enabled MPV.

Infotainment system comes with a 3 year warranty. So failure etc is taken care of for that period.

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

I was checking out a preowned hector which was fitted with aftermarket alloys and upsized tyres. Worried if it will negate any warranties. if true, what warranties will be negated?

For starters, you can say goodbye to the suspension warranty. I'm not sure whether the manufacturer has the right to waive off the entire warranty owing to such a modification on the part of the owner.

Preowned so soon, that too with upsized tyres? Better take it to A.S.S. and get confirmation.

Avoid the DCT. Too laggy. Extremely delayed response. Most of the Hectors on sale are the DCT. Go for Hybrid or Diesel.

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

Painting/wrapping the lower diffuser in darker shade do wonders to the look of Hector.

Re: MG Hector : Official Review

For all those who are looking to decide on MG Protect Plans, the original showroom pricelist has the prices mentioned for 3 years only, which covers 5 services. Only if you ask, you are told about the 5 years option, which is good for 7 services. I'm attaching the table here. Also attaching the table on the service intervals for Petrol and Diesel variants.
