Dual Channel controls both fueling and turbo boost while Single channel optimises only Fuel control.

Hi @brokana, my heartiest congratulations for your new car. I went a similar route some time back and got myself a Ford Figo Aspire diesel Titanium pre-facelift (I wanted the extra boot space). Such a great car to drive. Your car should be even better to drive since it has the new Getrag 5 speed gearbox with the shift collar. It's far more notchy (in a good way) and precise than the old 5 speed unit in pre-facelift Figo/Aspire.

The Figo trio can still smoke pretty much any mass market car on the road bone stock but get a stage 1+/2 remap and it becomes a different beast altogether.

Also, why didn't you search for a Freestyle? You could have gotten Ford's brilliant SYNC 3 infotainment system and ARP+HSA (only available in the Freestyle).

If you don't mind me asking, I'd like to see more pictures of your car, perhaps some pictures of the interiors as well.

Thanks,

Sai

Hi, thanks for replying. Actually, I was looking for a freestyle diesel also because of the higher GC, but couldn't find one. One of my friends got a Freestyle petrol but I realised there isn't much difference in GC and I love the feel of driving the lower Figo more so no regrets. I do feel the lack of Android auto/car play as you mentioned but my phone and a magnet make up for it.

Happy to more pictures:

Apologies to the mods if I'm posting this in the wrong thread. Please move it to the relevant thread!

Now coming to how I got my first car the legendary Ford Figo 1.5 Dragon AT. They say sometimes things are bound to happen and my ordeal of buying the Figo was definitely such a case! I can't thank team bhp, Giri and Jithin enough for educating me about this car.
too.

Now came the time to test drive. The showroom was in a busy area with some potholes and moderate traffic that helped me gauge the braking and suspension performance. But the real reason why someone buys a 1.5 Dragon AT is that rockstar engine and I was itching to test that. The car dealer's sales person took me to an empty street and said sir now you can test it properly.

The moment he said this, I put the transmission in Sports and floored the car. Oh, man! the car took a second, downshifted and boom it became a rocket. My brain couldn't process that a hatchback was accelerating in such a stable manner with 3 people on board with me and my father being more than 6 feet tall and considerably "healthy". I was sold then and there.

I asked about the car service records before giving the go-ahead of the payment and after seeing the service records my heart sank. There was engine work done in the car which we later found out was due to the engine being seized as it was not driven much. The cylinder assembly had been worked upon and a cylinder head was also replaced. The car had a new radiator installed too along with miscellaneous other things.

The SA was smart and only shared this since he had another buyer who was willing to pay 5.10 for the same car even after knowing the service records. I don't know if this was a tactic he used or if he genuinely had a buyer. But now I was in a dilemma. This could either be a 5L lemon or one of the best purchases of my life.

After discussing it with my father, we came to the conclusion that since the car was only serviced at Harpreet Ford with detailed records and the repair was not accidental but a result of the car not being driven and maintained enough, we should go ahead with the car. Cherish Cars also had a 3-month warranty for the engine and transmission, so this solidified our decision, although we had lost faith in them.

Cons:
- The tyres. Seriously Ford? Who was even responsible for this fiasco? It's like asking Bumrah to bowl on Perth with a white SG ball.
- No AA or Carplay and mediocre speakers. The audio system is just acceptable.
- Headlights are barely acceptable.
- No bottle holders in the rear seats and the lack of an armrest in the front in an automatic car are a big miss.

- Tyres: Will upsize to 15-inch alloys and get grippier tires. I'm looking for aftermarket alloys though I prefer the ones in Figo Blu so any leads in NCR will be highly appreciated. Looking for suggestions for the tires as well.
- Audio setup: The speakers and headunit are mediocre so want to get a system with wireless Apple carplay and some decent speakers. I don't think any Sync 3 systems are available for Figo.
- Headlights: Will get an all-LED setup.

Thanks to the team bhp community for enlightening me about this car! Apologies for the long read. Cheers!

Hey Vj305, congrats on picking up the Unicorn Figo 1.5 Dragon AT. Sadly, I sold my car due to non usage a month ago but that was the car which would literally scare the nuts out of me if driven in S mode!

I'm glad that my thread has helped you in your car purchase. Regarding dealers, I never trust spinny and cars 24 die to their shady practices and lack of accountability, however given the scenario, the Figo AT is a rare car and options from multiple places are limited (unless you go crazy like me where I picked it up from a different state, the most impulsive buy in my life but no regrets tho!)

Regarding the cons, the headlight and fog lights bulb can be changed from MotoFocusz, Figo Blu Alloy wheels I'll share the Vin via DM so that you can place an order for the same. Please get extended or anytime warranty from Ford as it is Don't worry much on the financials, it's your first car, you'll get to learn a lot on it. Plus you can sell your existing wheel and alloys on Facebook or any Ford groups, that way you can recover the cost for the alloys. available till the 8th year or 150,000kms(Since it's an AT, warranty is better for peace of mind) . Spinny warranty isn't worth much as they do not retain OEM specific parts in most cases.

I tried to retrofit sync 3 but the wiring is different for MT and A, so that project was a failure. The Aspire and Freestyle MT had sync3 in titanium + BS4 spec. However with the fly audio you can use a dongle called Carlink kit Cpc 200 which supports car play and android auto. However your fly audio must be the one without wifi(Figo 1.5 Dragon AT comes with a non wifi one though).

The only thing which works right off the bat with config is cruise control and it helps on highway drives to extract 13-15kmpl. In the city, this car is a hooligan!

Congrats again and enjoy your first car to it's fullest!
