I think it would be sometime early next year 2020. This is based on my short interaction with TAFE Bangalore |
By that time, the next Octavia will be launched!

I feel Skoda India are pushing hard for a second (and last) batch allotment of the Octavia vRS to maintain the halo effect and cult following. HOWEVER, these are volatile times in the EU with the WLTP having taken effect plus phasing out of the 'old' engines.
Whether IN management will be able to prevail on Skoda CZ to allot the RHD Octavia (in strong demand in the UK and other RHD countries), remains to be seen.
If not, we may as well wait till 2021 for the new vRS in a hybrid form!

Looks like the fully loaded UK spec Octavia vRS with DSG, DCC, EDL/VAQ, Virtual Cockpit and 10.25" touchscreen :D
But whether IN enthusiasts will be able to stomach the jump from ex-showroom 26L to 40L remains to be seen! Maybe 3-4 lakhs extra for the DCC / EDL combo, but 10L more is a lot.

40L is a steep steep price for the vRS. I won't be surprised if it meets the same fate as the Polo GTi.
A little bit more would get you a spanking new RWD BMW 330i post discounts making it a tough choice for enthusiasts.
Yes, it wouldn't handle as well in stock form, but that would be one of the few drawbacks and most enthusiasts would probably throw in a new suspension.
My bigger worry is that the one attraction the vRS did offer - practicality may be nullified with the lowered ground clearance and bigger alloys.
My 328i with the M-Adaptive suspension and 18" wheels is a pain to drive in the city with gigantic speed breakers and potholes. I don't expect the Octy vRS to be any different.

My God, what a sexy looking car :thumbs up |
Seems like lot of mods done to that car. Someone I know had done about 10L worth of mods and it is pushing close to 400 horses.
There's a pre-owned vRS available (with stage 3 tune, 425HP, RS245 Alloys, Red body paint) in Delhi at AutoBest Emperio.
Does anyone have any idea about the car's previous owner? Also, at close to 30L asking price, is it a good deal?

Great news! Just called Skoda India and they have no clue!
"on high seas"?? - So it will not be a CKD and this CBU news seems to be a bit disappointing.

While everyone is looking forward for the most powerful vRS to hit our shores - felt like sharing this incredibly smooth video of Skoda production line on vRS. Damn, no wonder their quality is top notch. I only hear their robots making sound. People are absolutely mute and follow per protocol to ensure the car meets best standards. I’m smittened by the fact they run minute tests to examine the gaps between the panels and the lights and so on. I hope our Indian manufacturers focus on quality like they do with quantity.

There is a used vRS for sale with APR stage 3 IS38 Turbo in Hyderabad. Wanted to know from the experts on all the specifics I need to look for before test driving it. The quoted price is 30 lakhs and i guess he is ok upto 25 lakhs. The car has been driven extensively with current mileage of 58000. It is a 2018 June month car. Thanks for the advice. He also has some accessories like alloys and audio system added to the car.
Folks willing to still shell out 42+ big ones for the RS245, do reach out to Skoda dealers or via Zac Hollis. There are a few available at least in South India.
