Congratulations buddy. Is that black or grey? I am getting confused when I look at the second pic. |
Thank you mate! It looks grey in that picture, because that was the metallic paint reflecting in the sun. I'm re-quoting my booking announcement post for you below :)

I have selected the Black Magic color, and the DSG, although I had originally toyed with the idea of getting the car in Velvet Red, with a manual transmission. |

Black is my favourite colour. A black sedan looks so sweet. Nice colour selection buddy, wishing you a lot of joyful miles.
Guys,
I wanted vRS from the day it was launched but somehow was not able to convince my family. Finally, after a year worth of efforts, I got the green signal and to my dismay, the car was off the shelves. I was optimistic and called every dealer in the north, hoping someone would be holding on to the stock, but no luck. One dealer in NCR region confirmed that, it is available on order and the wait time will be 6 weeks but he was pushing me for a regular Octavia. I am not able to get any response from the Skoda India.
Anyone have any info on whether the vRS is incoming for 2019? Spoke to Skoda dealers in Mumbai. Autobahn told me it's been discontinued, JMD said the new lot is expected in June. Any credible sources?

vRS will not be available in 2019 atleast per my conversation with Tafe Bangalore. They are just going to register all the interests at this time and will notify sometime in June about the Actual bookings and possible delivery times. Looks like one can expect deliveries only early 2020.

This one seems to be a manual. 6 gears.
Does the standard VRS also have a manual sibling?

Yes, it does. It's just that Skoda decided not to give India the option of a manual for whatever reason.
Cheers
There has been quite mixed opinions of it's launch in India. Rumors are for summer/late summer but I've also read that it isn't on the cards.

It will not be until early next year based on my interactions with Tafe, Bangalore. At best, bookings may start late summer.
It seems the rumor mill regarding the launch has virtually dried up. I remember there were talks of resuming bookings in January but that didn't happen.
Has anyone heard anything new trickling through the grapevine?
Is there any update on the launch of the vRS? When will the official booking start?

I think it would be sometime early next year 2020. This is based on my short interaction with TAFE Bangalore
