Congrats and wish you a great ownership experience. But do research about sunroof a little. The consensus on this forum has been to not do so if it does not come factory fitted, due to concerns with structural integrity and possibility of leakages in future.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

Hi all,

Completed 6000 kms on my Nexon P. Been driving Blr-Chn-Blr every weekend. Ride is fantastic. Highway mileage is 18 on sports mode and city mileage in 8 in Blr and 12 in Chn. No issues with the vehicle whatsoever.

Did roof wrapping in Chennai(thanks to gears and fillets for the wrap and some awesome photography ). Enclosing some photos for fellow members.

3. I had 2 bars of fuel indicators showing few days ago and i refilled my car with about 12 litres of fuel but strangely fuel indicator bars didn't move at all and still showed only 2 bars, however the distance to empty did change but the fuel indicator bars didn't move. Is it a bug or anything else as i am apprehensive what if it starts giving a false alarm with the low fuel warning when my car already has enough fuel.
2. I also had this issue. The inside door panel was removed. There was a NUT which was loose. No sound after that.
3. I had observed this in my previous car (Grand i10). These indications are not equally proportioned. For example:- Each bar of Nexon's fuel meter does not represent same amount of fuel volume. Maybe the top bar represents 7Litres (just assumption) and the 2nd bar represents 10Litres.

Amazing. The pictures look wonderful.
The city mileage you are getting is similar to mine. But how do you manage to get 18 on highway. (I recently did a 300+ km highway run in sport mode and according to tankful I got around 12kmpl, max. speed of 100, AC 100% on. ODO:3100km)

Thanks a lot for the information regarding the window panel. I will surely try to get it checked soon at the service centre to see if the issue is really with the loose nut in window panel.

Regarding the fuel indicators i guess you are right and i have observed it with my other car too which clearly shows the fuel bars tend to show different reading at different levels of fuel and no two bars have same fuel level indicator.

I guess the problem here with low mileage has to do with your top speed. Maintaining a speed of 100 is way too much i guess to get great mileage. As per my observation and experience the 6th gear should be maintained at around 65-80kms and see the magic happen. Plus try to keep the car at 2000 rpm at the max to get the best mileage.

Thanks. For 18 Kmpl, maintain 1-5 to 2k rpm. Basically, 6th gear and 80 will do the trick.

That's an angle (the top view) I haven't the Nexon from before. Looks fantastic!

Thanks for your wishes. I hope I enjoy this car as much as my Linea too.

About the sunroof, yes, but since these are going to be fitted by the Tata folks themselves and not the service centers, I have enough confidence to bite the bullet. We'll see how that goes.

I thought so. This is an engine which I can either Drive or extract mileage from (The driving style I have).
I assume Octavia RS has better FE on highways at the speeds of around 100kmph than what I got for my Beast. (Open for correction)

The Sunroof will be fitted by the Webesto People at the Tata Service Station. The Sunroof cost ranges from Rs. 17K for the Pop-up Version and from Rs. 65K to 95K for the 300 series.

The factory fitted sunroofs do leak after passage of time. There are drain pipes which get clogged and the joints get rusted. Periodic maintenance is required.

Aftermarket sunroofs from Webesto come in Series 300 - without drain pipes and Series 700- with drain pipes like the factory fitted sunroofs.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

My 'Mini Landie', being one of the first to be delivered in Bangalore in Oct 2017, achieved the 15,000KMS milestone. It could have been earlier if not for my frequent travelling, as I do put in a lot of miles! So I take the car to Concorde ORR for service and the Advisor comes to me and asks if I have any problems to report. With great pride, I say "ZERO"!

My ownership of this great car has been flawless. The 3M coating and PPF films are also holding up well. If I have to nitpick - before service, the mileage (D) had dipped to around 12KMPL, but is now back to 18KMPL in City - T2T method. (I use Sports mode all the time). Clogged air filter was to be blamed. Concorde does not source Mobil but since I insisted, they did get some from Chennai. And the oil cost me around 1.5K for 5 litres. Then, they changed the oil filter. That's all the expense I incurred. Other than that, not one pin has been changed

The oil needs to be replaced every 15K KMS, I'm told - which is great on the pocket! No other fluid top up was required.
Tata surely has a winner in their hands, and if I had to buy another car today, it will be a Nexon!

Thanks, so in terms of quality and longevity, are the pop up version and the 300 series equally good/bad? I am only going for manual since it will only be used once a while during our family hillstaton trips. I don't see a regular use for this, so didn't see a need for the automatic version.

Pop up Sunroof makes the car interiors look lively. And also the glass can be completely removed to open the sunroof. The only issue is that Pop up does not come with a sunshade. And may be affect the Aircon in the summer besides direct heat though Webesto says that the glass is UV protected.

Can you please elaborate that for me? I see that it can only be partially opened (unless you want to remove the glass altogether). I am surprised the cheaper version an have advantages too.

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

As I understand going through the thread, the headlamp bulbs are H7 type. Any recommendations from this group on better bulbs to replace the stock ones? Either LED or halogens - anything that gives better illumination & throw. Would also be helpful if anyone can provide information on the best place in Bangalore to procure original ones.

The Sunroof has to be experienced.
You can feel the rain, the space, the nature.

Slightly OT : Is this accessory common for all TATA cars? When I enquired about the same, I was told it was available only for NEXON! Was very keen on this one for my Tigor.

TATA needs to improve sale, they have very long way to go in this aspect.
