I do feel a bit stupid now, but then, honest mistake.
There you go. Glad that the forum was able to help in this conversation with your inner self.

What is your car,by the way. The lift ring thing is not just limited to 6 gear cars, but was also in earlier cars too. I saw it first on the Opel Astra.

True that Mayank! The forum does help

The car in question is the Tata Nexon. The other cars with which I have interacted are mostly the 1st gen Santro and a Chevvy Beat. The only 6 geared vehicle I have driven was an XUV 500. It had only the ring for reverse, not a "convenient" switch to move the ring

A quick query to all the Nexon owners,

Height-adjustable seatbelts with Pre-tensioner, Load-limiter: Is this for both driver and passenger or just the driver?

It's for both in my 2020 XZ+(O) variant.

Thanks

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

I booked Nexon XMA (S) Petrol Variant on 8 August 2021. I got a call from Dealership last Friday that my car has arrived. Went for a PDI and approved it. Delivery is planned for Tuesday 24 Aug.

Accessories I got installed from Dealership
  1. Floor Matting
  2. Sun Visors
  3. Mud Flaps (Complimentary)
  4. Foot Mats (Complimentary)
  5. Rear Parcel Tray
  6. LED Scuff Plates

Took Insurance from Showroom. Got a discount on Showroom Quote. Closely matches the one available outside. Also took 1 Year Extended Warranty since this is an AMT.

Few Questions I have
  • Will changing Rims to Alloys cause Speedo to give errors?
  • Showroom installs Blaupunkt TouchScreen System. Is it Worth it? Price is 30K with Camera but Outside Dealership the price for the same system is 22K.
  • I want to have a Black Roof Wrapping. is it ok since there is Sunroof.

I am buying it in my Hometown - Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. I was told of a Waiting Period of 12 Weeks. Dealership experience has been good. The TL has been in touch with me at every stage of the Buying Process.

Will create an Ownership Review soon.

Nothing worth attention if you stick to same tyres & same wheel diameter. You can very much go ahead if you have the budget. Although - it makes no difference but in looks. Do the math of how much petrol you can buy in the same money for long drives instead, before you make the payment IMO.

Absolutely not - in my opinion at least.

Shouldn't make a difference. Another alternative is - to check with the ASC - and ask them to paint the roof with actual colour. Some TBHP members have done this as well.

Thanks Buddy. I would prefer to keep it reversible so Wrap is the way to go for me. Also for Alloys I somehow cannot digest those wheel caps. I have a habit of atleast turning around to admire my rides after locking them. Those wheel caps will take away the charm. Heart says go and spend 36K for those alloys. But Yes your advice is really hard to ignore for the mind. For this time I will let my Heart shut my mind's mouth

Hi,
Adding to this amazing response, please have a look at this photo. The wheel caps on the steel wheel have been painted black. If the cosmetic look of the alloy wheels is what you are looking for, then this may be a much much cheaper alternative.
Cheers!!

Re: Tata Nexon : Official Review

I have taken delivery of my Nexon Petrol AMT. The Delivery Experience was Smooth. The SA and his TL have been in constant touch with me since the Test Drive till Delivery. So impressed with Dealership that I have convinced my BIL to go for a Nexon since he is looking to change his car.

I will create an ownership Thread along with Buying Experience soon.
TMSC App shows the Vehicle Allotment Date as 14 August 2021.

Accessories taken from Showroom
  1. Mud Flaps
  2. Door Visors
  3. Car Mats
  4. Rear Parcel tray
  5. Scuff Plates - LED
  6. Body Cover
  7. Floor Matting - Black Textured
Got a discount of Rs 5000 on Accessories and (Undisclosed Amount) on Showroom Insurance. Closely matches Outside Insurance so stuck with it. Also took Extended Warranty making it is 2 + 1

Accessories planned in the immediate Future.
  1. Alloy Wheels - Ordered from Showroom. Will take a week
  2. Reverse Parking Camera
  3. Leather Wrap on Steering Wheel
  4. Roof Black Wrap
  5. Driver Armrest (need Suggestions)
These are the immediate I can think of.

A Tyre Inflator is given by TML along with Puncture Repair Kit. I was planning to buy One. Saved some 3K. Thank You Tata Motors

Need a Suggestion:
I want to get a Rear Parking Camera setup installed. Which screen should I go with.
  • The One that is attached over the IRVM or a Separate Screen on Dashboard?
There you Go. Yours Truly with his new Ride.

Congrats on the new ride and may you have many happy miles!

White looks gorgeous on the Nexon!

If I may ask, when did you book the car? How long was the waiting?

Hi,

Congratulations on your new car. It does look quite amazing.
For rear view cameras, in my research and opinion, the one that fits over the IRVM and also functions as a dashcam, that should be the best.
Examples can be found from 70mai available on Amazon for about ₹13k, plus some labour charges for installation.

Cheers!

Thank You Sir.
I booked my car on 8 August. I too was told about 12 weeks of waiting on Petrol AMT. 14 August I got a call from Dealer that my car has entered Production line and will be lifted onto a truck and reach dealership by 20 Aug. Got a call on 19 Aug that my car arrived and I could do PDI. Only one White Nexon allotted to this dealer in August.

Key point:
Don't know but TL told me that they have to pay upfront to TML if the car is to be dispatched. There were cars in white booked since July but yet to be allotted from Factory. The TMSC App shows Vehicle date as 14 August and the engine compartment components had 12 Aug timestamp and tires had 8 Aug timestamp. So this is guaranteed not another customer rejected car.

My loan had been pre-approved before booking the car so I was a Sure Shot buyer for the dealer. Maybe this helped. Maybe dealer has a say in allotment.

Congratulations Sunil.

We booked Nexon Diesel yesterday evening and we just received dealer commitment letter and receipt for booking amount. No booking id till now, however SA confirmed that booking id will be received shortly.

When did you book it?

Hi Karthik,

Congratulations to you too! What is the delivery timeline committed? I have booked Nexon petrol in April with a waiting period of 13 to 17 weeks. Still waiting. Got the sales order number from dealer in the receipt and hope that is the booking id number.
