Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Can someone share their views/experience with Bridgetone Turanza on Model S. I have been driving my current car (Punto Evo) on Micheline Primacy for last 10 years and have got used to its silent performance and grip. I have booked a Compass Model S which comes with Turanza and I am a bit confused whether I should retain them for some time or switch to something better.

There are not many options for 225/55R18 though - MRF Markus, Continental Ulracontact UC6, Verdestein Ultra Vorti, and Yoko BluEarth.

What has been your experience with Bridgestone Turanza?
Those who have switched to another brand, what is your experience ?
Anyone having experience with the other brands listed above ?

The earlier vehicles used to come with Firestone tyres which tend to get very noisy as you move from a very smooth road to a bit rough surface. Turanza is a standard road tyre, you wont complain about it.

I think its best to wear it down before swapping it out. In that time you`d know what type of tyre is best for your usage. Whether you want a comfort oriented tyre like Turanza or a more durable tyre for some rough road driving etc.

The Turanza is a decent tyre, though the UC will be less noisy and more cushy. I'm on the Turanza's at the moment and plan to move to UC when its time to change. Have always changed to Continentals from Bridgestone in all my previous vehicles. Hope this helps.

I prefer a comfortable, low noise ride for highways and city. Dont see the car will be used on rough roads

Spinny used car analysis for Q1 2025 lists Jeep Compass as the most sold used luxury car. Given the dwindling sales of new Compass, I guess we can take some solace from this article.

The Compass used to do quite well for an entry-level luxury car, especially in the initial years since its launch. So, considering the time frame, a lot of those owners may have put up their cars for sale, and with it being a solid, premium SUV with offroad capabilities, it has turned out to be a desired pre-owned option.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Hey guys, i'm about to send my 2022 Petrol AT compass in for servicing in the next couple of weeks, and just want to know what are the essentials that must be covered in the service. Landmark Jeep in Delhi usually tries to upsell some servicing and I don't want to go for stuff I won't need.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Hey guys, I'm out with fam in naukuchiatal and had an accident on the way there (near Moradabad). Car took it like a champ, and I got the side steps removed at jeep haldwani who gave me the go ahead to finish the trip and return to Delhi on Sunday.

My question is - what do I need to do regarding insurance? Do I need to inform there here or can I wait till Monday morning when I'll ask jeep to come and pick up the car. My current plan is from HDFC ergo, and I have already got it renewed from liberty general which will start on May 15th. I assume I'll be losing the no claim bonus.

Thanks in advance!

Since its just the door, you can update the insurance when the car is send for repair work.

Yes, you will have to pay the NCB that you received,

As an owner of a 2017 Compass limited O 1.4 petrol.

-FE = 9-11 KMPH. I average around 9.5. Drive fairly sedately.

-Service = Jeep's service center in Gurgaon is good and they've always managed to solve any and all issues I've ever had. However, jeeps services are expensive. Almost German prices for parts (not quite, but almost).

-Reliable = In my experience, this is a very reliable car. I've never had a critical component fail on me. Any issues I had I could see coming from a mile away so nothing hit me by surprise. The issues were all wear and tear related, no defects.

Niggles = None in particular, however my car is a rattle box. Rattling of various things have been a problem since the beginning. I've become used to it. Jeep Gurgaon's always managed to fix my rattling issues only for new rattles to emerge between annual services. I can not speak for how the facelift model is regarding this, but the preface lift models definitely suffer from rattling. My theory is that the speakers in the car are too good for the rest of the body. For what it's worth, my friend has a one year old facelift compass, he doesn't have any rattling so far but it's only been a year.

Pros = Very controlled NVH levels, especially once I changed tyres to Michelin primacy SUV+. This car is way above any of its competitors however it's priced way too high so doesn't sell much anymore. The quality of the interior, the amount of soft touch materials, the lack of wind noise at up to 120+ kmph, the brakes, the speakers, the highway handling, in all these regards the compass is far and above the likes of cretas or harriers. One niggle with driving however, the car is jerky at speeds below 20kmph, the first gear especially. I am talking about the automatic btw. My friends compass, which is also automatic, is also jerky in the first gear. I got used to it and passengers can't tell anymore but as the driver I can feel the jerkiness in the first gear.
