Jeep Compass 2018 in US is affected by a Safety recall for front control Arm replacements where the Control arm is incorrectly welded and separation may result, which could lead to a crash.

Have you tried Android auto for long durations? As in 3-4 hours?

On my first and only highway drive, the Android auto was disconnecting very frequently. And even the system rebooted twice automatically.

Had anyone else faced the same issue?
Could it be a handset specific issue? I was using my LG G6.

I was hoping that this update might be a resolution of the problem I am facing.

I had this problem but was resolved when I started using the cable supplied with the phone.

Yes that normal. It is quite a loud sound caused by the shutter movement inside the headlight assembly. Still the loudness of the sound is quite surprising especially for new buyers.

Are you sure that is from the headlight assembly? I was of the impression that it was the fuse/relay.

Yes, that's what it seems like to me. Try it out with your Bonnet open and you will hear it distinctly from within the assembly if you stand in front of it. (Someone else will have to flick the stalk from inside!)

Just heard from a Sales guy in Bangalore that Jeep is considering adding a sunroof, cruise control, powered seats and all black interiors to their top spec model.

He also said that the Trailhawk will be available only in 2019. Hope it is wrong information. :

I did get an update last month but they said it was for the ECU. This update was done in 30 minutes for me.

Update about ground clearance on Jeep. Jeep India online support says it is 155mm (laden) and 178 (unladen). Isn't that way too low? Jeep US shows Trailhawk Compass having 216mm (unladen). There are many articles saying unladen for standard 2017 compass is ~208mm.

That's because of the plastic lip below the bumper.
Otherwise it would be about that much.
In fact, when the Trailhawk comes to India, it is likely to have tires the size on the Australian model and not the US model, so the ground clearance will be around 225mm on it.

Thanks. Will it be possible to use those 18" tires on a standard Jeep Compass without the kind of issues that show up on a vehicle with too much of a tire upsize?

Reason I ask is Jeep Compass also has a 16" version and I remember a TeamBHPian advising me to stay away from a 2" upsize (back when I upsized my OHC tires from 13" to 15").

I think you mean 18" rims.

You certainly could, but even without them being sufficiently fouling up by grazing the wheel wells, they can mess with the electronics. Your speedometer and odometer calibrations would certainly go off, at the very least.

The rule of thumb is, final diameter/circumference/radius (whichever way you like to measure it) should be within 3%.

You can certainly do it without much trouble. The car might look cooler, but you'll take a hit in ride quality. It's not the most sensible upgrade given Indian road conditions - IMO even things like the Fortuner and Endeavour should come with no more than 17" rims. The Compass Trailhawk should've been 16" rims and beefier rubber considering its off-road focus.

Google "tyre size calculator", input your current tyre size and then you can easily see what tyre size will preserve the circumference with an increase in rim size.

You shouldn't have any issues, but be aware of the consequences of an upsize in Indian conditions before pulling the trigger.

Edit: Replying via phone, hence a lack of detail. Please feel free to ask about any point I might've made vaguely. Have forgotten the tyre size of the Compass - been looking at so many recently, I'm a little muddled, else would've shown the calculation myself.
