Hope it fits

Is it possible to retrofit cruise control in swift zxi+ considering the updated dzire now coming with cruise control? Mine is swift zxi+.

Thanks Reinhard. Voicing my thoughts exactly. Except for the cruise control i wouldn't miss anything in the zxi. But then one can't have everything.

1. ECU should be same.

2. Instrument Cluster change might be required.

I know someone who retrofits cruise control in Maruti cars. I shall update you after the lockdown

Thanks Sir for your update. The Cruise Control icons can be seen in the instrument cluster in bright sunlight.

Great news! As they have announced it for both old and new Dzire, I assume this will be available as spare part and can be fitted into existing cars (mine is 2018 make). Any idea about the cost and part number?

They haven't announced it for the Old Dzire. But I think it should fit easily. Should fit even the Swift. Part numbers of the main covers:

COVER, MAIN FLOOR UNDER, RH
Part Number: 72812M54T00
Price: Rs 480

COVER, MAIN FLOOR UNDER, LH
Part Number: 72822M54T00
Price: Rs. 480

COVER COMP, ENGINE UNDER
Part Number: 72410M54T00
Price: Link failed. Will update later

Re: Maruti Dzire : Official Review

Some detailed snaps of the changes done to new Dzire, wrt newly added caps and covers:

Sump cover:

Cover under the front foot board:

IMO both these parts can be retrofitted to old Swift and Dzires(3rd Gen) easily.

Any idea if these are plastic or metal? This should give some much needed protection for the underbody. Looks like Maruti must have received lot of complaints on this.

These are made of plastic, a bit thicker than the variety you get for fender liner. The new DualJet has its sump placed a bit below compared to the K12M and is almost in between the two wheels(as per claims of a known SA). So MSIL has given this protective sheet. The cover below the front footboard is for NVH purpose I believe.

MSIL should provide engine guards as accessories for all their models, like Ford do. Ford's engine guard is of awesome quality.

+1. In fact all mainstream car makers should. I'm sure there would be sufficient buyers. I suspect in addition to the cost of the part & screws - its the added few minutes in servicing + updates of SOP documentation that also keeps this part out from most cars. Where the goal is to quickly complete the routine service + oil changes and get the invoice printed - the extra 5 minutes of removing the plate for oil drain & re-installation surely amounts to a significant time added in turn around times at service bays in the big picture - numbers of cars serviced per week surely would show a difference. (Of course good engineering & a plate that allows for oil drain without own removal would be the best solution.)

Indeed. Similar solutions exist. For example, take a look at this engine guard available on Aliexpress, it has quick removable covers for draining engine and gear oil:

Re: Maruti Dzire : Official Review

Hi All,

My dad is getting back pain when sitting in the Co driver seat in our Dzire that was bought last year. When I sat and checked, I felt like the seat is too low. My Dad is around 70 and doesn’t have the same problem in our old Figo.

Any suggestions, should I add extra cushion base or some Lumbar support accessory.
