I also could only find the temperature and blue lights as main differences.

Only the sigma has that basic orange cluster, Zeta and Delta get the same without the blue lights.

I was told that alpha cluster costs around 14k while the one without blue lights is for around 7k.

When i used the spare, it worked. I though the key fob battery needs replacement. I replaced the battery and it worked. After about a 120 km drive, it did not work. I though it might be key fob issue.

I started used the spare. The spare key worked for a few days and suddenly the same issue started in the spare. It works sometimes, and sometimes it does not. If I press multiple times, the car will get locked/unlocked. This will work smoothly after that. The next day when I try, it will not work. I have to manually use the key to open the door. The alarm starts buzzing. When I turn on the ignition, alarm stops.

I have checked the key fob battery with a multi meter, it shows 3V. My car battery may hardly be a year old. I use the car regular. Is this a Fuse loose connection issue? I tried searching all over the internet, I can only see suggestion to replace the key battery or take it to a ASC.
Even I am facing somewhat the same issue.

I have an Aug 2023 Ignis Alpha and 1 month ago, the vehicle started to warn me of low battery on both my key fobs! I use only one key fob frequently, while the other not so often. I am hoping this is a glitch.

Both my keys remote don't work anymore. A few days earlier, the 2nd key worked for once after a drive and never worked again. I have not been able to go to a professional due to hectic time at work. Tried searching on net. Opened the fuse box and removed all fuses one by one and put it back. Not resolved. Have to try replacing the key battery again.

If anyone seems to have solved this, please let me know. Would be of great help.

I ordered these on amazon - https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and replaced the battery myself on the key fob.
The alert on the dash disappeared and things are working as they should.

Thank you for the solution. It worked, and the errors disappeared!

However, I am curious as to why the key fob battery lasts less than 2 years.

The previous gen manual key + lock/unlock lasted for atleast 4-5 years afaik for our Ertiga.

Thank you for the hint.

I had bought a battery from our local stationary shop.

Seeing your post, I just realized, if the battery that I had bought was old stock.

I took out this battery rubbed it on my trousers and put it back. The key worked for a few times. After about half an hour it stopped working.

Bought the battery from Amazon, which were Nov 2024 production. Both keys are working fine.

One more point that might be common knowledge, but none the less that I would like to point out :-
1. Our Ignis has the old key type remote locking. Not the Push Button kind. The Push button uses CR2032. But the old key type remote locks uses CR1616.
2. We can use CR1616 or CR1620. Both have the same diameter. CR1616 has a thickness of 1.6 mm where as CR1620 has thickness of 2 mm. Out of the two keys, one key had CR1620. The other had CR1616. Now both are replaced with CR1616.

But one thing remains a puzzle! When I checked the battery that I had bought from the local shop with multi-meter, it showed 3V.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Picked up the Ignis Zeta in black colour for the wifey. We wanted a compact car with a small footprint and a good ground clearance and the Ignis fit the bill perfectly

We were looking at the nexa blue colour but during the PDI found the car to having a few faded spots on the body.

Luckily they had the black colour in stock and it worked out perfectly!

The guys at the showroom were very prompt and cooperative with our requirements and delivered the car on time.

After the delivery i found the sound system lacking and as i was travelling to Pune thought of visiting poona motors at camp.

I got the front speakers changed to alpine with an active blaupunkt subwoofer with damping on all four doors.

Didn't change the rear speakers yet. The present setup sound wonderful But i guess will have to consider a amplifier for better output.

While upgrading the speakers got the garware sun film installed on all the glass and the rear view camera fitted in the OEM position which is connected to the OEM head unit

Also got the relay switch for the auto folding mirror on locking the car

Jinay chauhan from poona motors was the perfect guide for the installations and didn't advice anything unnecessary.

The brothers had a good coordination and delivered the car perfectly on time.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Highway manners of Ignis

I did yet another road trip; Bangalore to Goa this time.
Iggy, as usual, was flawless and long drives like these reassures me on my choice of vehicle.

Current odo reading is at 28100 in 1.8 years of ownership.

The good:

1. Stable enough at 80-110 km/h.

2. Small size made it easy to traverse narrow Goan roads where required.

3. Engine is powerful enough to take on steep inclines with a full complement of 4 people and luggage (you must plan for it ofc)

4. Projector LED headlamps are great for nights and early mornings.

The bad:

1. Starting to notice that paint has started to chip away in a few places due to contact with small stones on the highway. Since roads were under construction, the number of stones flying around were a lot. Since Iggy is celestial blue, the paint chipping is a bit more evident. I’m planning to get it all fixed next month.

2. OEM wipers need to be changed. Sadly, they are not heavy duty enough imo to handle highway duties (bugs flying constantly onto the windshield , heavy mud particles, bird poop). I have to constantly wash the windshield whenever I stop for a break. I didn’t need to do this for our Ertiga which has Bosch wipers.

3. Fog lamps need to be changed. The halogen ones did not have great light throw. Hoping to change it this year.

Minor mods I would suggest to improve Ignis’ experience for all (based on personal experience):

1. Get seat covers/leather seats. I did the former and my ride quality has improved by 20-30%. Additionally, wrap your steering wheel too.
2. Change the OEM mats to rubber mats (if not done already)
3. Buy a wireless adapter if you use maps frequently.
4. Get an armrest to rest your hand on long drives.

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

It's been almost three months since we bought this beauty! We initially wanted to buy the S-Presso for our city drives, but when my elder brother talked to me about the Ignis and how it might be one of the last models from Maruti with a four-cylinder engine, I was intrigued. He mentioned that the Ignis is a beautiful car to grab before Maruti discontinues the four-cylinder engine! Plus, the manual gearbox is effortless to use.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to take a test drive. I was impressed by how it drove. I’ve always liked the styling of the Ignis, but I had never actually stepped inside one. The amount of space they created in this compact car is impressive.

Our primary reason for getting a second car was for city driving and occasional highway trips when our Seltos is occupied with other family members.

Since the Ignis arrived in our garage, the Seltos have hardly seen the city roads. Honestly, whenever I grab the keys for a trip around town, my hand instinctively reaches for the Ignis.

An average of 17km/l for the city is perfect.

This car is truly worth the money for 7.6lacs on the road (I was lucky to get this pricing, with a trade-off being a year-old car).

Re: Maruti Ignis : Official Review

Hello everyone,

I have a question, in my iGNIS there is a equipment that is in the dicky trim on the inside. It fell out in the spare tyre cavity, hence was visible. Can you pinpoint exactly what is this? And what's the use of it. It has marking on it - GEO H170405 as visible in the picture.

Thanks!

This will be the sensor to help open the dickey door. This can be pushed into the body shell cavity.

In case you do damping in that area, never cover this up.

Hi, congrats on the new purchase, I am in similar boat & looking for a city car, however, the last time (This was around 2 years ago) I drove an Ignis, the self-centring of the steering was very poor, I could literally turn the steering to one side, leave it, and the car would just go chasing its own tail indefinitely. so, have the things changed now?

Unfortunately, the self-centring steering issue persists in the newer models.
