Would the XUV 500 be the 1.99L variant? The 2.2 L top-end XUV costs around 17.5L (ex-showroom)

Bang on! Nice pricing IMO.

They are smart enough to price it at par or just about undercutting XUV500. The price gap reduces as we climb up the variants. But the starting is good enough. I hope these prices are not bumped up later on.

Too much explanation of features, specially after media drive of product is concluded. Most of us already know about the product, such a long introduction of Hexa wasn't exactly required IMO. Excessive music, its a car launch, not a concert.

When they were showing and showering reviews, this came up : "Feel Brave sitting inside the car", a statement I didn't like.

"Whatever it takes" at the beginning was an over hype.

Coming to product, lets hope that Hexa gets as much success as Tiago got in its segment. We need good competition in that segment, and Tata has rich experience which they have poured into Hexa.

XUV500 is a relatively proven product and pricing at par could represent a confidence not seen earlier in Tata Motors.

The prices are :

This makes XUV W10 AT VFM (Sunroof and other goodies still 50K cheaper than Hexa).

The first 3 variants - XE, XM & XMA - are priced wonderfully, IMO.

But they took it a bit overboard with the next 3 - XT, XTA & XT 4x4.

Ideally, they could have shaved off at least 50K from the topmost variant to give some sleepless nights to the Mahindra XUV500. As such, with discounts anywhere between Rs 60,000 - Rs 1,00,000 already available on the XUV500, specially the W10, people would prefer the higher variants of the Mahindra to the Tata behemoth.

Even the Innova Crysta VX is just a stone's throw away. I don't see any reason why a prospective buyer would overlook the Toyota's more-practical parameters over the Hexa.

Tata should have been conscious that they are encroaching a territory which is already the Innova's and the XUV's comfort zone. In my opinion, this should have been the pricing of the top variants:

XT - 15.9 lakhs,
XTA - 16.9 lakhs,
XT 4x4 - 16.99 lakhs.

(ex-showroom, Delhi)

This would have been perfect, and made the Hexa a complete VFM package.

Here's some trivia.

The starting price is 1 lakh lower than the Aria's starting price, despite 6+ years of inflation!

The top end is only 2 lakhs more than the comparable Aria variant's price in 2010, despite a LOT more equipment, improvements & 6+ years of inflation.

Man, the Aria was one overpriced elephant. The Hexa, on the other hand, is superbly priced!

Price announced. Very attractive.

Tata Hexa launched at Rs 11.99 lakh

Quote:

XE - Rs 11.99 lakh
XM - Rs 13.85 lakh
XMA - Rs 15.05 lakh
XT - Rs 16.20 lakh
XTA - Rs 17.4 lakh
XT 4X4 - Rs 17.49 lakh

Variant to variant Hexa is slightly over XUV but is undercutting the Crysta by quite a margin.

Will be interesting to see how this battle pans out.

To view the prices as a whole, I think it's a good ploy and Hexa should reap rewards by snatching some sales of XUV and also from the unshakable Crysta.

On a different note tthough I completely missed that Crysta also comes in 8 seater config; though I have to go back to our review to check how comfortable that version is.

These are introductory prices. They haven't undercut XUV500 top variant, which has sunroof and push button start.
IMO they should have undercut XUV, more so when the hexa pricing is introductory. Anyways good luck to Tata Motors.

Pricing is out starts from 12.09 and 17.55 lakhs for XT 4x4 ex- Mumbai . Pricing looks good but mentioned introductory price so they may increase later based on market response . I feel Tata should keep this price for a year and build strong customer base on HEXA focussing on quality service so that they can latch this momentum for upcoming cars .
