The article doesn't mention anywhere that Hexa has received a price cut of upto Rs. 2.17 lakhs. Further, as per the below article Hexa has received a price cut of Rs.1.5 lakhs on all its variants, but again there is no way to substantiate this article as well. I guess we'll have to wait till the prices are updated on Tata's site to know how much to enjoy :D.

Even Autocar has this news of Rs 2.17 price drop for Hexa. I will take news from ET and Autocar to be authentic. IMO think they have also done price correction in guise of GST.

Does any one know pre GST price? Latest price for Hexa XTA in Bengaluru is 1605580/-. This is as confirmed on Live Chat on the Hexa page. This translates to roughly a 20 Lakh OTR price :)

I think it was around 17.75 ex-showroom before GST, now at 16.05 ex-showroom you will be saving more than 2L on OTR price.

Hexa prices from a dealer in NCR. Ex showroom:
XTA- 1613069
XT4b4- 1623945
XT- 1503898
XMA - 1390583
XM- 1280881
XE- 1095541

Pretty interesting to note how there is a relatively huge price difference between the base and the top variant. The XT 4x4 costs nearly 50% more than the XE. Not many cars can boast of such a gap in percentage terms.

Hartron - new dealer in Gurgaon - called me. Drop is around 1.5 for XT. 1.7 or so on road for XTA. Both on-road. Not sure whether it is official or he has some guesstimate or initial hints from Tata. Nothing officially on Hexa site - we can expect lag to be there. If it actually drops by around 2L for top-end, it will be awesome proposition.

@dailydriver - that difference was since the launch.
If you look at the differences in features, it is ok to have this difference in ex showroom prices.
It becomes more prominent with on road prices as they include several things which are % of ex showroom

I just looked up prices for 3 other cars that have a 4X4 or AWD option in their lineup - namely the XUV, Scorpio and Duster. The price difference between the base trim and the top end 4X4 are 40%, 52% and 46% respectively compared to the 48% of Hexa. So the Hexa does have some company here!

Tata Hexa XTA price confirmed by Concorde motors Mumbai.

In road: 1938000. A solid reduction of 266000. Could be lower if you go for your own insurance etc.

Hexa official price updated by Tata:

For folks who wanted the Hexa to undercut XUV500 prices, time to rejoice.

clap:

Tata Hexa XTA - 16.05L
XUV500 FWD AT - 17.05L
Innova Crysta Z AT - 20.6L

All prices ex-showroom Bangalore, as on their respective websites.

Excellent VFM proposition it is. Can the Moderators please update the price comparison tables on the first page of the official review?

prices have become very attractive now.

It's a killer pricing now and I hope it sells really well now. It is on my shopping list now along with XUV and Innova

And why are we comparing W10 AT for the XUV 5OO? Does Hexa offer Sunroof, ESP, 8 way powered seats etc? W8 AT is the more apt comparison as Mahindra offers 6 airbags in this version as well and is priced at 16.22L.

Hexa is priced less, but not as much as your post conveys, when compared to the XUV.

Well, my post was not to do a comparo on features. But to highlight how well Tata has utilized the GST opportunity to make a sensible move.

But if you insist on comparing, why don't you start comparing on ride quality, the sheer quality and opulence, the immensely comfortable captain seats option, the incredible music experience, the usable third row and boot space (XUV owner's may wonder what this is, cannot blame then though) that you get with the Hexa. And did I mention the clean understated design?

You win some you lose some.

Let's appreciate Tata for making amends at the second opportunity, having missed the first one. Better late than never.
