The Autocar's 2017 lineup for track test included Mustang and oh boy! I am impressed. It scored a good 8/10 and managed to beat the likes of 530D, SLC and 911 Carrera .

There were lot of comments mentioning Mustang handles bad, Engine lacks grunt compared to the German family sedans etc. The above turns out to be a myth buster. Also surprising element was Baleno RS. This was one car that was bashed for being called "RS" and has manged to beat the Abarth.

Beating a 530D sounds ok but I am surprised SLC and 911 carrera are behind. Wondering what engine specs those other two had compared to V8 mustang. Recently i was watching Grand Tour S1 (basically top gear with a twist :)). In that they they had pitted a MUstang V8 against Ford Focus RS which actually has a 2.3L turbo engine, and guess what. FOcus was faster on their track than Mustang and in their overall timing list both were fairly at the bottom.

If you notice, the Ameo GT Cup car has beaten a fair number of these cars on this test! A lot boils down to the handling balance, and brakes, along with power.
The 911 used in the test had a bad axle according to the link, resulting in wheels spinning = slower time reported.
The 2018 Ford Mustang has reached Indian shores.
Differentiated from the current-gen by a tweaked front & updated interiors.
Scheduled for a launch in Q3 2018.

The stock 2018 Mustang GT (with the Performance Pack) does the standing 1/4 mile in 12 seconds or under as seen in a number of YouTube videos.
Infact in drag strip mode the figures are even better than the 2017 GT350 with some clocking a 0-100 time of under 4seconds!!!
Hope she arrives in India soon.

IIRC this Mustang runs with a Roush remap and exhaust, makes about 727 bhp at crank. The car shuttles often between Mumbai and Pune.
Spotted this black Mustang near Haji Ali today. Looked and sounded amazing.
If you have Netflix, please watch the documentary "A Faster Horse". You will love it. A behind-the-scenes look at what goes into designing such an iconic car.
This was the second time I watched it....and I still loved it!

Why is the tail lamp glowing differently in each of these pictures? Is it to do with indicators and braking?

The tail lights are a combination of brake and signal turn lights. Braking all light up, for turning they blink left to right or right to left towards the left/right as the case may be. So it depends on the turn indicators being on and the moment when the photo was taken.
Am hearing of Mustangs exchanging hands at ~50 lakhs. And she's just 2 years old in the market. Once they are 3 years old, prices will fall off a cliff.
A pre-worshipped Mustang for 40 lakhs? You can realistically aim for that in a year.
