It has something to do with alignment. If you have done it at the dealership, ask them to answer, and they can even press a claim for tyres. If done outside, get it done at the Dealership this time. If the vehicle is very old, you can get the shock absorbers checked before changing the tyres, which you will have to do now, irrespective of the outcome.
Took the car to a reputed alignment shop. They said that the last alignment done at Nandi Toyota had left some bolts loose which was causing a wobble which has destroyed the front tyres. The alignment itself was out of wack. I replaced all four Bridgestone B390 tyres with Vredestein Ultratrac.

Which specific dealership of Nandi Toyota is this ?
Nandi Toyota Banaswadi. I was shown the loose camber bolts before the wheel was aligned. Thought about driving down to Nandi Toyota and complain about this but was in a hurry.
Going forward will stick to basic servicing at dealership and do the rest at the specialists (which are cheaper too).

I had the same experience with Ravindu Toyota in the last service. They performed wheel alignment and also changed camber bolt saying it was damaged and yet messed up the alignment. Then after getting it aligned outside, the values were badly off and hence had to be redone. :Frustrati

Which is the "reputed alignment shop" you took your car to?

The TPMS that Toyota is now offering with the petrol Crysta - is it the same unit that was available earlier as well, as an accessory? I've been told that it has been unreliable, and hence, Toyota themselves stopped offering it (had asked while getting my Crysta in July).
I'd prefer a OEM TPMS vs. third party so holding out.

Hi adigup,
I faced this exact same issue with my 2016 zx 6at crysta. 2 of my OEM tyres had sidewall buldge within first 6 months of ownership, and it bent 2 alloys along with them. So I changed my OEM turanza tyres to Michelin in size 225/55/R17 at 7k odo. And eventually at 60k odo downgraded my alloys to 16 inches with 225/65/R16 Michelins.
Now to answer your query point wise:
1. Depends on how bent they are. In my case I could only feel the steering wobble at 100+ speeds, which became unbearable above 120. Nothing below 100. So I lived with them till my tyres were EOL.
Balancing used to take up a lot of weight tho.
2. Yes it is. Lower variants still comes with 16 inch alloys.
My zx crysta has done 50k+ kms on aftermarket 16inch alloys.
The ride quality has improved a few notches.
I don't see any loss in high speed handling, I was told by many that I would.
3. Won't have made a difference IMO. Mine was reported within first 5 months and I was told that these alloys bending is not covered in warranty. I contacted TKM as well, same response.
I also tried taking insurance claim for those alloys, but there was no visible damage on the alloys of the bend and it was rejected.
Hello bhpians. Is it okay to upgrade the innova crysta's tyre size to 225/60 R17? Did anyone try this size? Ours is currently running on stock size of 215/55 R17.

I strongly believe it is the same. Even I was told the same - It is unreliable and Toyota itself is not recommending it. I am now starting to think if it is just the dealers that are pushing customers away from it?
I am also on the lookout for a TPMS and my first preference was OEM too. But since no luck, I have somewhat shortlisted TREEL TPMS from JK Tires. Yet to make up my mind and go get it installed.

Yes it always was the case in some markets including Malaysia since 2016. They never got the 2.7L (2TRFE) petrol engine in the new Innova and continued with the 2L (1TRFE) petrol engine carried over from the previous Innova. We got the 2.7L petrol with the new Innova while the previous Innova was sold with the 2L petrol. Logically speaking the hybrid when it comes and if it comes will not be based on 2L (1TRFE) engine because its not an Atkinson cycle engine and Toyota hybrids always use Atkinson cycle engine for better efficiency.
Some Indian auto news blogs are picking on this detail and presenting it as something new, its not and always has been the case. For hybrid related news we should look at Thailand/Indonesian auto news feeds instead, because traditionally they will get it first before we do.

The car has been spectacular so far. From gobbling up luggage for five people on a two week trip, to ensuring a comfortable drive for the third row passenger, to just being relentless on long drives, it has lived up to its legacy. Over priced without a doubt, but unbeatable in its value offering across price-points and segments.
PS: the low Adblue (2400 kms threshold) popped up at 5100 kms.

Thanks! Haha, unlikely. This was a planned two week trip; I may not get a two week leave three times over. lol:
I don't think range is a usable metric: eg. our average speed in KA and TN was ~60 km/hr, while that in KL, ~30 km/hr. The average FE across the trip: (from four lane highways, to in-city, driving in hills, to KL highways) was about 13.2 km/l. Always full-tank to full-tank; fill until auto cut-off.
For what it's worth, when I fill the tank full, the DTE displayed is ~650 kms.
