Re: Ford Endeavour : Official Review

I am on the lookout for an pre loved Endeavour(3.2L).

I am considering out of state vehicle as well and plan to register in Bengaluru. What would be an approximate re-registration cost for 4-5 year old Endeavour in Bengaluru.

Will it be calculated on a pro-rata basis, i.e. remaining years till the 15 year mark?

For existing owners in Bengaluru, can you please help with the original registration cost for the new one?

1. Pro rata basis

2. Read this 60 page thread then think again about buying an out of state car in Bangalore. For shortness of time you can search the thread for my posts since I've moved a car from TN to KA, then claimed my TN tax refund back in 2015-2016 (yes it took several months).

Your choice of 3.2 Endeavour is good. However there are a few that keep coming for sale on and off. If you get a KA car nothing like it. However transfer from another state RTO will be a tedious process, take long unless you have a strong source.

Thank you for the information. The ones I found in KA are not budging below 30L, whereas similarly aged ones in Bhubaneswar are willing till 21L. This makes me think, if getting from hometown after due diligence and registering at KA will still workout cheaper.

I am not in a hurry currently and can wait for an year at least if not more in search of the right one. The figures quoted are as per interaction with ADs listed in olx.

If you have an address in Orissa you can right royally register it there, and take it between Orissa and Bangalore on a regular basis such as visiting home.

Your car may become a magnet for Karnataka cops but maybe not as much as a Tamil Nadu car is. Just don't paste stickers for office parking, apartment parking etc in Bangalore on your car and you should be fine.

Another Torque converter failure in a 2016 3.2 AT here in Chennai at 66000kms on the odo. Detailed post here - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techn...ml#post5252420 (Ford Endeavour 3.2 AT - Gearbox failure. Recalled in other countries, but not in India!)

Basically the torque converter welds/bolts of the flex plates have broken off (the plate that connects the transmission to the flywheel). As per a Ford technical bulletin, ASC are instructed to replace the existing Dowel pins with revised Dowel pins, to rectify the issue.
Can you kindly cite the Bulletin reference if you have? It might help while dealing with the ASC here

A day later Ford informed me that they will absorb 80% of cost of the parts , I'll have to pay the remainder.
They did not confirm that this was a known issue but did admit that TC should not have failed at 21K Kms.

They also send an email confirming this and marked the Service station. I also got a call from Service advisor confirming the same.

Waiting for the parts to arrive and repair to be completed. ETA to get the car back is mid next week.
Is your car back? How long did it take?

How much did you have to pay out of pocket?

Thanks!

Very sorry to know about your experience especially with the family. I had a similar one.
My Car came back by the promised date that was 13'th Jan.

I also had the 50K kms service and changed the drive belt as recommended by Ford Manual to be changed after 5 years.

In all I paid 33K from my pocket. out of which about 25K was for TC replacement.

Post the change the car has been running smoothly in the city.
Just this weekend i drove over to Hyderabad, I did find an issue around 120Kmph there is a lot of vibration felt through the throttle pedal.

Am planning to get that investigated once I get back.

Trying to do Insurance renewal (currently HDFC ERGO), looks like they don't allow Zero Dep coverage after 5 Years (2016 March Model). Anyone has done a Zero Dep coverage after 5 years? please let me know the details. appreciate your help and thanks in advance.

Re: Ford Endeavour : Official Review

While I continue to be in the lookout for a pre worshipped Endeavour 3.2L across Karnataka and Odisha, have some pointers to clarify :

1 - Extended Warranty : The major advantage in buying decision? In majority cases, owners have not opted for extended warranty. Is it a deal breaker or we can go ahead if other parameters are ok and no issues found during check in Ford ASC and service record is clean. I believe, it will be up to insurance claim for covering any major expense afterwards.

https://www.olx.in/item/ford-endeavour-titanium-plus-4x4-at-2017-diesel-iid-1673118688

2 - Wheel and headlight mods : Many existing owners have opted for after market wheels and headlights. Does this have an effect on stock suspension(Wider track, bigger rims etc.), wiring setup etc. Although not keen to consider these, how worried one should be if opting for such vehicles and what would be the mods which one can live with without impacting overall performance?

https://www.olx.in/item/ford-endeavo...iid-1674722588

3 - Pricing : The biggest factor. All 4-4.5 years models are being listed at around 30-34L mark and almost all are listed by dealers who are not budging below 30L. With a strict budget of 25-26L, should I continue the search or wait out a bit to see if prices come down. (Is a Bi-Turbo launch on the cards and maybe it's launch will release more pieces in used car market)

This should not be an issue, Ford is allowing you to purchase Extended warranty up to six years after vehicle inspection. You may opt to do this yourself.

Thank you. I thought Ford allows extension only if the vehicle is currently in warranty.

Does it allow extension even if the vehicle is out of the standard warranty period? i.e. if the vehicle is 4.5 years old and previous owner has not opted for extended warranty, i.e. standard warranty expired already, will Ford allow extension up to 6th year post inspection?

Call up a Ford dealer and get it clarified, instead of going with presumptions

Thank you. I will get it confirmed from ASC as well whenever I visit them for vehicle inspection prior to finalizing any deal.

Hi Anshuman77, is this 'extended warranty' or 'anytime warranty'? I am not sure there is difference between these by the way. I plan to find out more about this. I recently picked up an Endeavour and Extended warranty has expired. I am in a dilemma on whether I should go for any time warranty ( ATW as ford puts it ) or not.
