I agree on the FE part that you can't expect more from a 3.2 litre, ~200 bhp engine. City drives can fetch you 8-10 kmpl and on long drives it will be anywhere between 9-12 kmpl.
I am using an application called Drivvo to calculate costs. What I have provided for a screenshot is purely for fuel. The app allows all other costs to be input as well. But I have not yet updated the latest service bills and hence I did not pull out the entire costs.

Cheers!

Re: Ford Endeavour : Official Review

A conversation with my cousin sparked this and since a discussion was already underway here, some fuel info from my side as well:

Have been doing things in a relatively old fashioned manner - note stuff on Google Keep. Have plans to manually "export" to more usable and interpretative spreadsheet "someday". Before I get to numbers, some context:

Driving Pattern - a) ~95% low to negligible traffic running (highways, B-roads, rough roads), b) ~3-4% off-roading (not rough roading, proper off-roading), and c) ~1-2% city (when passing through town for work or those without bypasses on roadtrips).

Case A - Post running in (where gentle driving gave numbers like 14 kpl +), driving has been brisk - FE between 9 and 13. For stints with average speeds ranging from 75 to 105 kph (have even had a 7.5 hour stint with 750 km covered ), FE varies accordingly.

Case B - FE can be around 2 - 5 kpl for these patches. Day trip averages come down from 10-11 to 8.5-9.5 kpl in these instances.

Case C - 6 - 9 kpl.

Lots of idling too since I use this for all jungle safaris where own vehicles are allowed.

Had taken Diesel at 70 INR/l and fuel consumption of 11l/100km as part of my pre-purchase running costs calculations - estimating 7.7rs/km - for roughly every 13k kms travelled, 1L INR would be spent just on fuel. Actual lifetime consumption so far has turned out to be just under 10l/100km. Basically, impact of fuel prices can be seen quite well.

Now for some quick manual calculation from my notes:

1. Had spent a total of ~57,120 INR on diesel when I filled up ~@6950km. Fuel prices started falling steadily after this reading, hence giving this reading separately - this will be illuminating. Running costs uptil now ~8.14INR/km. Despite higher than expected fuel efficiency, running costs higher due to higher than expected fuel prices.

2. Spent a total of ~101,900 INR by the time I tanked-up ~@13700 km. Cost per km down to ~7.43 INR/km.

3. Spent a total of ~111,700 INR by the time I tanked-up ~@15250 km. Costs down to ~7.34 INR/km.

Basically 57k INR for first 7k km and 55.5k INR for subsequent 8.3k km. ~8.14 INR/km and then ~6.9 INR/km.

* Only fuel costs are reflected in the numbers here - not total running costs.
** All cost numbers are higher by the cost of a full tank at the time.
*** Numbers are approximate but quite accurate and representative. Will have numbers adjusted for full tank and accurate to paisa and 2 decimal places in a spreadsheet.

Very informative - for anyone who is planning to buy the vehicle.
Similarly, can you also share the other costs (maintenance, insurance, etc.)?

Thanks!

Re: Ford Endeavour : Official Review

1.5 Month Ownership FE update:

Endy 3.2 Titanium
3700 kms done

2 Long trips

Mumbai-Surat & Return:
This was on the 3rd day of delivery. 250+250 kms trip. FE while going to Surat was 10.5 kmpl. FE while coming back was 11.5 kmpl (gentle foot driving)

Mumbai-Goa & Back:
FE while going to Goa (Thro' Chorla Ghat) was 10.5 kmpl & while coming back (Thro' Amboli Ghat) was 9.9 kmpl

Last 2 tankful's are purely 100% in-city, in Mumbai B2B traffic (where 33 kms take 2.5 to 3 hours) - FE has been 6.8-6.9 kmpl on the MID & 6.5 kmpl from tankful-to-tankful. Both the times it gave identical figures !!! 462 kms in 72.xx litres

Currently, going thro' this thread in reverse order (starting with the latest posts/ pages) and as of now reached Page No. 124. Still 124 pages to go

I've quite a few queries and shall ask later if not already answered here

Re: Ford Endeavour : Official Review

Has anyone spoken to their agencies whether the Start/Stop feature can be retrofitted to our old Endeavours? Mine is a 2016 model 3.2 Titanium and always missed this feature in the truck. From the preview pics, the button in the 2019 model is at the location I have circled. May be the Service guys can change the ignition Key hardware and core the plastic to install the switch?

It should be, since the Endy was always push button start compatible, however, retrofitting it at an ASC will be a costly affair.

Why dont you go for an aftermarket push button system if the feature is important to you? There are many options available.

https://www.autofurnish.com/autofurn...e-mirror-black

I hope this can be fitted with any vehicles i.e not vehicle specific mirrors. But to get this fitted, drilling a hole is required on the fender. One way its safer, otherwise it gets removed/lost like they do with blind spot mirrors -

Has anyone have this fitted on their Endy?

Re: Ford Endeavour : Official Review

There is no doubt that the Endeavour 3.2 is a more premium (plusher, better handling, more power, better ride, more comfort, permanent 4WD) offering when compared to the Fortuner.

However two aspects where Ford could do better are:
1. The rear design language of the Endeavour is extremely boring and makes the vehicle look so narrow and uninspiring when viewed from the back. They have made an effort to improve the rear to make it appear a bit wider in the 2019 variant, but leaves a lot to be desired. (Not just the Endeavour, Ford also got it wrong in the past with the Fiesta rear design where they goofed up on the rear looks giving it a narrow un-palatable stance.)

The Fortuner's rear stance is very crisp and appealing in comparison.

2. Max 3 Years/ 1Lac KM warranty offered in the Endeavour is less confidence inspiring when compared to the max 7 year Ext. warranty offered in the Fortuner or the 5 Year/1.5 Lac KM warranty offered in the Izuzu MUX.

They were offering 6 years/ 1 Lac KM warranty until a month back, the prices were 34K for the 4th year and around 45K for the fifth year.
I cross verified the prices from the Ford's website also.

Since I had my warranty till Dec'19, I thought of extending it later.

Now, it appears that they are not providing the coverage post 3 years and they have taken it off from the website too.

Can someone confirm it?

As far as my enquiry goes with the Ford dealership in Delhi, the standard warranty is 3 years/1lac and can be extended to 4th, 5th year only. I am yet to see any official announcement on this.

The segment lowest extended warranty coverage is my biggest grouse with the amazing 3.2. The alturas gives a 1.5 lac km coverage upto the 5th year.

I just got a quote for the 4th year warranty add-on. It comes out to around 34000 incluing GST. The max kms is still 100k. They do offer upto 5 years total still, but not sure if they offer the 6th anymore.

Re: Ford Endeavour : Official Review

I am very close to making a buy decision on the 2019 3.2. My question is regarding colour- my wife and I like the Black paint based on a new model we saw in a dealer lot.

I’d love to hear from Black endy owners out there about their experience with the colour and the ease/difficulty of keeping it shiny and beautiful.

PS: the car will be cleaned by my driver who’s very paint-conscious and is, in fact pushing me to pick the internet’s (and by extension this board’s) brains on this matter!

Since you have a sensitive driver, maintaining a black should not be a tall task.

Black is amongst the best colors on the Endeavour and goes well with the silver and Chrome bits on the vehicle.
