That's what I heard too. The 10k discount on the 2016 models isn't obvious since it would depend on the dealer having old stock and in the variant and colour you want. Although, I wonder if 10k off is enough to compensate for being perceived as 1 year older during resale.

I managed to get a Rs. 10000 discount on Tiago XZA. Since it is launched in March 17, there is no way it can be 2016 built car. So, go ahead and bargain your dealer. Go to them at the end of month after 25th, they will have a target to achieve and may offer discount.

I have done First checkup (<2 months) and Second service (<6months). Both were free. Third service (<12 months) is also free which is due in August. So I cannot comment yet.

Took delivery of a white Tiago XZ for wife....the delivery exp was absolutely top notch, better than what i had when i took deliery of my Dzire ZXi last year. A beautiful folder was handed over with visiting cards of all concerned, all documents in plastic sheaths, even a box of chocolates with Tiago shaped chocolates! Marvellous!

What happened?
In the beginning of April, he was travelling to his native place. On the way, his car was tailgated by a VW Polo, let the pictures speak for now:

He claimed the insurance on 4th of April and Tata service station guys are still clueless about when they are going to return the car back, meanwhile, this is how the Tata guys carried out the repair process. I was literally shocked to see this video. The Tata guys told him that this is a well tried and tested old method, while I have my own set of doubts on what they have been doing. What an idiot that guy really is. No wonder such staff in the dealerships can screw a brand. More often than not, these kind of people find their way in to authorized center thanks to shortage of manpower.

Its not just people but also process. The guy doing that obviously have got the approval from the concerned person higher up (bodyshop supervisor) in the chain to go ahead with the jugaad.

Proper method is either using a jig like caroliner or similar tools.

Old gen non-authorised bodyshops worth their salt have a better system to pull out the body without using the car like this.

This jugaad for straightening the chassis is truly for the record books. Obviously TATA Motors will have to do a check on the quality of mechanics and their entire dealer and service network to weed out the bad ones. These are the guys who make or break the brand.

Most ASCs invest in a caroliner. I wonder what stops them from using it.

A body jack which comes in both manual and hydraulic version, can also be used to repair extensive structural damages including damages like the above car. This is a much smaller investment than a caroliner for the ASCs and much accepted than this desi jugaad by this Tata ASC. I have seen Maruti authorised workshop using this same desi jugaad for aligning a slightly bent lower arm. All I can say is that it pains to see such techniques.

I have seen the same technique being used at Kritivasa Automobiles(ex-MASS), for straightening out bent aprons. They chain the car to a tree trunk, and then reverse in pedal to metal style.

For the same reason, their authorization was cancelled.

Now that the NVH problem on the petrol engine has a good solution in the Tigor, is it not fair to carry that forward to the Tiago too? Is there any news about Tata upgrading the Tiago with more refined RevoTron engines, with balancer-shafts?
