This FE was within the first 500 kms of driving and 100% AC (non ECON mode). I am pretty sure that I will end up with 10-11 in City over the long run which is absolutely fine with me. Highways, I got around 11-12 with 6 people and luggage including hill climb and desent and 100% AC. Again this is below 1000 kms of usage, so I think it should settle somewhere around 14

Nothing serious. The automatic gear has a small chrome lining all around which seems a bit loose. Otherwise the machine is working beautifully, none of the niggles which the earlier users reported.

The third row passengers do feel it, not to alarming levels but they did report it. The first and second rows are absolutely comfortable. If the roads are very uneven then there is some bounciness. My suggestion is to either take a long test drive or rent a car and try it out on your regular stretches just to be sure before spending 20 lakh rupees.

Get zero depreciation insurance and transfer NCB if applicable. The side steps accessory look very good. The under body anti-rust coating is recommended. Don't opt for the entertainment system behind headrests, I checked and found that they don't match the original seat leather and they become flimsy making it a safety concern. Otherwise push for max discounts... Enjoy the experience

I have the NCR 2.0 version, I'm getting 13kmpl in the city and 16 on the highway runs. In the city it is sedate driving, 50% bumper to bumper traffic, 50% reasonably open road. The FE figures is as displayed in the car MID. I'm yet to do a tankful to tankful method calculation.

Hi sir. Here in hyderabad, the prices of 3 variants are:

Creta AT - 17.6 lakhs on road

W6 AT - around 17.5 lakh on road
W8 AT - 20 lakh on road
W10 AT - 20.8 lakh on road

There is hardly 80k difference between W8 and W10 prices. So, if I'm spending 20 lakhs and going for W8, I don't mind spending another 80k and making it a complete package by opting W10.

I saw buying a W6 AT variant for the Creta price as VFM. Hence, I didn't consider W8 as a choice sir. Either I wanted to spend 21 lakhs and take a top end model, or save 3.5 lakhs, take W6 and feel that I got a better car than Creta at that price

Hi,
I'm planning on purchasing a new car and seriously considering an XUV500 AWD W10 AT.

A couple of modifications I'm planning on adding to the car are:

• 360 Degree Birds view camera
  The plan is to use something like https://goo.gl/oFz9PY and intercept the rear view camera feed to the ICE so that all the cameras including the OEM rear are fed into the DVR and the DVR output is provided to the ICE in place of the rear cam video.
  
• Power Tail Gate

  I have found this on aliexpress: https://goo.gl/0ih2gu. The exact same model might not work with XUV500 but something more suitable might be available.
  

• One Touch up and down for all windows with anti pinch
  Hoping there could be a simple module like https://goo.gl/aJTIar which would do this. Am I right?
  
• LED Day time running lamps
  This is straight forward but couldn't find a thread that is specific for XUV500. Also I would like to not mess with the Automatic lighting on the W10. The DRL should be on while the car is on. It should not require additional switches.

I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable than me could provide info and suggestions regarding the possibilities and gotchas of the suggested changes.
Also I would like to keep my warranty so would like to avoid cutting/splicing wires as far as possible. I'm handy with soldering and tools so if I can source the right kind of connectors, I should be able to easily install those where applicable without resorting to cutting wires.

Hope you have seen the niggles thread (link ) and read at least a few of the 273 pages.

Headlight bulbs and LEDs fusing, security alarm blaring randomly at night without any provocation, window winder and windshield spray motor among parts which are prone to frequent failures, TPMS misbehaving once in a while, Infotainment system has its own mind (screen flickering, bluetooth issues, GPS locking problems etc)....its all there in various degrees and combinations in the XUV. The warranty (& extended warranty) protects you from all these surprises. The inconvenience of getting it repaired is still there, but at least you don't have to pay for repairs while in warranty.

If you want to go ahead with the 3-4 modifications planned on a new vehicle, you would invariably have to give up on any warranty claims related to anything electrical/electronic. Just to give you an example, I have HIDs installed in my XUV and those are plug and play, no existing wiring tapped/spliced etc. But when the LEDs in one of the headlight units fused, they tried to blame it on the HIDs and the small cut in the rubber cap at the back.

So please think really hard and evaluate if its really worth adding those minor features in your car at the cost of losing the warranty in a car famous for its niggles.

I spoke to the people at dealership and service reps and service managers including the head of the dealership and according to them though the official stance is that warranty is void to cover their posterior, they usually fix anything not related to the direct modifications and as long as I don't cut any wires, I should be fine. The guy who introduced himself as the head of this branch suggested I use the power headers below the front seats provisioned for the official rear-seat entertainment system.

Should I trust them or are they just saying that to close the sale? They were pretty convincing when talking but reading other users' experiences here is making me think it's the latter.

I would be extremely grateful to anyone who can provide details of the w10 OEM rear camera wiring to ICE. Like pics or video of the rear camera and ICE back side. I appeal to any brave and generous W10 Owners out there.

Whatever the discounts present in the month of December, you can ask for those discounts to start with. Based on your negotiation skills, you can take them a little further as those are 2016 models and hardly anyone would buy them. 2017 models are about to arrive within a couple of weeks' time.

In Hyderabad, they are claiming that 2017 vehicles have already arrived. I got a call that they can deliver a 2017 Silver W10 AT immediately. So, based on this, you should be able to negotiate well on the 2016 model prices.

The 2017 model W6 Automatic XUV which I booked in Vijayawada a couple of weeks back has reached the stockyard of the dealer. Yesterday, I have visited the stockyard and did the PDI (Thanks to our team-bhp PDI checklist). Everything is perfect and I gave a green signal to the dealer. Will be completing the payment process today and hopefully I will be taking the delivery on 29th January.

Told the dealer to add the front fog lamps with chrome finish and reverse camera as accessories. Slowly I will add a couple of accessories like rear guard, seat covers, alloys etc after taking the delivery.
