hey guys, ive finally been alloted the 1.2 Zeta (manual) after waiting for almost 4-5 months. i had booked the car from nexa andheri (next to fun republic). do you guys suggest i should get a PDI done? any idea where the dockyard would be? when i asked my RM he dint seem quite happy to hear it and said it was outside mumbai. im not sure if i should take that trip.

Congrats on being allotted the car you've been longing to own. I'd say the trip for PDI is worth it. This little precaution will definitely help you pick any niggles right before the delivery. Trust me! its fun to check your ride for the first time and none can do it better than yourself. :D

It is mentioned on the driver side B pillar.
Yes, I feel that keeping less pressure than recommended will flex tires more and tires may even burst in the highway. Other Bhpians can throw more light on this issue.
Yes, keeping less than recommended pressure will flex the tire walls and prone to cracks as well as side cut. Also with small stone or uneven surface during speed, tire can loose grip from alloy wheel rim and have sudden loss of pressure.
More air pressure is prone to tire burst, more wear and most importantly poor braking.
Adding to the good advice by gentlemen above, and contrary to popular belief, low air pressure can lead to tire bursts, esp on highways.

Many of the dealers have their stockyards in Bhiwandi or outside Octroi limits. Check where your dealer's is located and plan accordingly. Assume a 1 way drive of 30-40 kms to reach the place.:)

After seeing the picture you have attached i wad really shocked and felt that i misread this information for these many months.. Then suddenly i went to check my baleno and was shocked .. Attached is the picture
How can this be possible that the same model car with two different specs for tire pressure..
There is only 1 difference "2.0" and "2.2". What does it referring to ?

Why such a different recommendation is not clear.
That is the pressure recommended in Kg/Sq.Cm. for Front & Rear.

Just thinking. May be there is difference in fuel type. Mine is pertol alpha. What model is yours?

That could be it. For Diesels, front tire pressure need to be higher considering the increased weight of the diesel mill.
Just completed 10000 kms on my Baleno (petrol alpha). Here are some highlights from my experience.
1. Its been a completely niggle free ownership so far - not even a tyre puncture, touch wood.
2. FE has been 18-21 in the highways - I drive max speeds upto 120, and 15-17 in city. Observed that aggressive driving drastically reduces FE in this car.
3. For the first 5K kms I was slightly uncomfortable due to the "stiction" in the steering, but got used to it later. Felt the car is much more stable now at speeds above 120 than during the first 3-6 months.
4. No one in the family have so far complained about discomfort in the back seat, so assuming no suspension related issues on mine.
5. I park my car outside, and there are a few scratches and the famous dimples too. Maintaining this car is going to take some effort due to the thinnish metal and the cars width (prone to more scratches in traffic).
Overall the driving experience with Baleno has been fantastic, hoping for lots more happy miles!
Guys need help, my car's Vin number has 17 characters as opposed to 21, how do I decode that? Its "MA3EWB22SGD170838"

Another interesting observation today on the highway.
I was cruising at 100 KMPH and the RPM needle hovered at 2500 and suddenly there was an upshift and the RPM dropped to 2000. :D
That is really good considering its a petrol motor.
What RPM does the manual Petrol Baleno do at 100 KMPH?
So, got my Baleno Zeta (CVT) in Urban Blue shade last week.
Advantage Baleno:
a) Automatic Transmission
b) Black interiors
c) Easy Maneuverability
d) Unique (at least for some time)
Advantage Ertiga
a) High Ground Clearance
b) Front seats offer superb view
c) With the third row seats folded, the boot becomes huge.
d) Rear A/C
Accessories added in my Baleno:
a) After market seat covers (Black and Silver combo)
b) Philips H4 LED headlights
c) 5 piece Rubber mats (on top of NEXA provided carpet mats)
