From which Nexa dealer in Hyderabad have you booked your car ? I want to know how prolonged the waiting periods are as of now, I'm asking because a friend is shopping around for a new car and might just book the Baleno if the recent news about increase in production capacity is true.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

IBN says 75K Balenos for airbags and 1961 Dzires to replace faulty fuel filters. Are there 75K Balenos on the road already?

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

Hi guys,

Just found the press release on the BSE website.

Quote:
Maruti Suzuki to recall 75,419 Baleno cars and 1,961 DZire cars (only AGS variant)
New Delhi, May 27th, 2016: Maruti Suzuki will proactively and voluntarily recall 75,419 Baleno cars (petrol and diesel), manufactured between August 3, 2015 and May 17, 2016 to upgrade the airbag controller software. Of these, 15,995 Baleno cars (only diesel), manufactured between August 3, 2015 and March 22, 2016, will also be attended to for inspection and replacement of a faulty fuel filter.
The Baleno cars covered in the recall include 17,231 units of exports.
In addition, 1,961 DZire Diesel cars (only AGS variant) will be attended to for inspection and replacement of a faulty fuel filter.
Starting 31 May 2016 owners of the vehicles covered will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki dealers. The software upgrade and the replacement of faulty fuel filter, will be done free of cost.
To ascertain if their vehicle is covered, owners may check at www.nexaexperience.com for Baleno and at www.marutisuzuki.com for DZire Diesel (only AGS variant).
The customer is requested to fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the computer screen. The chassis number is embossed on the vehicle ID plate and is also in the vehicle invoice/registration documents.

I think 75k includes the export numbers as well which is around 18000. That leaves us with around 55000 cars which are surely on the roads. All the cars manufactured till date are affected. I have not got any email but I will check with my RM.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

The news mentions it as a software upgrade for airbags software. Is it a mere upgrade or some fault with the existing software? Cannot find much details on the internet.

Re: Maruti Baleno : Official Review

Booked Baleno Petrol Delta Ray blue on 21st May at Bimal Nexa. My RM has given a waiting period of 24 - 28 weeks. Has not given this in writing or not mentioned in booking receipt. Is this fine to trust his words or should i get it in writing?

The waiting period should be mentioned in the booking receipt. They wrote the waiting period in the booking receipt that I received. Not sure if it makes a difference.

Its better to take an underwriting for the waiting period. I got it on my booking receipt.
That said, waiting is really 24 to 28 weeks as of now.

Well it really won't make any difference.. They will write it for your satisfaction and would still extend the waiting if they have to. So, imo it is just a formality and has no commitments attached to it whatsoever.
