Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

Vamsi,

Very difficult to say just by looking at the car, as we can't see what he actually hit.

Figo DCT owners, please share your car's routine updates like city and highway averages, cost of ownership, east of driving and anything else significant.

(I am contemplating on booking the DCT variant in the next couple of months).

Michelin 185/65/R14 XM2s are certainly smoother than the stock tyres. Handling-wise I would say they are marginally better than the stock tyres.I think this car(esp. the TDCi variant) deserves 195/55/R15 tyre/wheel set up

Re: Ford Figo : Official Review

The figo diesel humbles the much more expensive Punto abarth and Polo GT TSI in Overdrive's track test.
These were track times reported by overdrive
figo diesel- 1:21.2
punto abarth- 1:21.3
polo GT TDI- 1.24.1
figo was faster than all versions of the I20, baleno and jazz in this test.

Hello Sir,

Sharing my dad's Figo DCT experiences so far:-

1. Mileage on ODO:-3000 Kilometers

2. Fuel Efficiency:-
  • 12 Km/Ltr in urban bumper-to-bumper traffic with 100% AC.
  • 19 Km/Ltr on highways with speeds between 80-90 Km/hr & 100% AC.
3. Transmission is smooth, no jerks felt while up-shifts & down-shifts.

4. Amazing acceleration with 112ps on tap. Light kerb weight on the new Figo gives it a healthy power to weight ratio.

5. Feather-lite EPS feels makes the car easy to drive in city.

6. No concerns till date( Recently upgraded with new software for RCM).

7. Engine noise is a tad higher than expected.

Regards

12 km/ltr for a diesel in city is too low compared to few other friends who own the same. They are getting 17+ in city and 20+ on highway.

I have a petrol, it was giving 10 in city and 13 on highway. First service done, its improved to 12 - 14. Hope to see it in the 14-18 figure soon.

Dear Sir,
I have mentioned the fuel efficiency for Figo DCT (petrol automatic).
My dad's Figo completed its first service before sometime, hoping for improvement in fuel efficiency after the 1 Year/10,000 Kms service.

There is something wrong with the AC filter. I too had to get it changed at 18000 KM. It had choked a lot earlier, affecting the cooling, around 13000 k only but I waited and got it replaced during the 3rd service. I have read other's too have got it replaced earlier. Isn't 20k too less for the filter to be changed? The service center guys said you may be driving in very dusty environment. I said I drive from Delhi to Noida. After the filter change there is a phenomenal difference in AC cooling. It gets freezing inside even with the blower at position at 1 or 2. Earlier I would feel hot even after keeping the blower at position 4.

Question around the balancing/alignment - Is it mandatory to get it done in every service, every 10k? If one does not get it done can Ford raise warranty issues. The service booklet does not mention that. Not even fords website in the service price promise section. Guess its voluntary. The thing is it is expensive compared to what the other people outside charge. I have done it twice and Ford charged around 1k both times for balancing and alignment.

Balancing as per what I have read online is expected to be done only if you remove the tyre from your wheel or if you are facing noticeable vibrations in your steering when going at say 100kmph or above. This might happen due to weights falling off. Apart from these scenarios balancing is not needed at regular intervals. Coming to the alignment part, if you are driving on potholed roads a lot, or in the curves, you might need alignment every 5000kms. Else a cursory alignment check once every 10,000kms should do. Basically i stick to the 5000kms alignment check as the roads in Bangalore tend to mess the alignment by a few degrees at least. You also don't need to get the alignment and balancing done at the ASC always. You can get it done from a reputed tyre showroom outside. Others might want to comment further/correct any info above.

I have just taken delivery of the Figo DCT last week and my current fuel efficiency is 8.5 KMPL. I am hoping that, it'll improve in the coming days and stabilize to what you have mentioned here.

What was the initial mileage, that your car delivered?

Hi Amtak, Congratulations on the new car. Since you are in the same city, thought I may help you with the answer - unsolicited, hence apologies for it.

My car has just tipped 9000kms, and the FE has hovered around 11.5 for the last month. A lot depends on where you drive; case being, if your travel requires you to touch Western Expressway - I trust 9-11 will be what you'll encounter, otherwise 10.5-12 is what you can expect from the car. Again, its a 1.5, so please allow some leeway from the 1.2 counterparts. Enjoy the car, and keep all of us updated

Thanks a lot Cupid! My travel takes me to Navi Mumbai and hence I take the GB road - Thane Belapur Road (via the dreaded Kalwa route!).
