Re: Renault Kwid : Official Review

So I called the Renault dealer to check if I can have the silver bumper accent of Climber installed on RXT and they were not sure!!! They said we will need to order the spares and will confirm later. The cost will be approx 5K.

I also enquired about the engine guard to protect the plastic oil pan, but they had only a plastic guard!! The metal guard they said will order and confirm! The cost will be around 3K.

Thank you. This confirms my doubt. Team-bhp elaborte reviews never disappoint!

Though I do not understand the language but reading your translation and the comments over there (via google translator), it seems more related to a brand defamation attempt; which is not unheard of.

The very fact that the car got self ignited and too 5 times, is a bit too much to digest. In today's world, where information is available right at the fingertips, where one can get YouTube to highlight a concern, Where even the company big-shots can be reached (with some conscious efforts, of course), still the consumer has to go through all this ordeal, seems a bit far fetched. Moreover why did the consumer not flare up when this happened the second time?

Can you please try and get the complete picture here, if possible. Seems there are lot of dots, and they are far and wide!

Re: Renault Kwid : Official Review

There is some metallic khar khar sound coming while I am driving my kwid. It's a 2017 model with approx 48000 on the odo. SC is asking me to change the silencer assembly ( price around 7000).
I have checked the silencer, there seems to be no cracks, just a bit reddish at places. Is silencer changing the only option and is the price indeed 7000 INR

Thanks

Re: Renault Kwid : Official Review

Hello fellow BHPians,

I own an Kwid 2017 model (1L RXE Opt) l. It has been 5 years now and I want to do some midlife updates to my car and was looking for some suggestions.

1. I want to upgrade the ICE to something which supports rear camera as well as Android Auto/ Apple Car Play.
The new Kwid have above support. My question is that if the new infotainment system could replace the older one? If not, can anyone suggest a good ICE unit for this? I do not want anything fancy which runs YouTube and all, I like it to be as close as OEM.

2. I want to upgrade the IRVM with Day/Night ones. Any suggestions for those?

3. A rear view camera with adaptive grid lines.

4. A decent audio upgrade, the car is mainly used by my parents. So I am looking something low-key which elevates the sound quality.

I live near Indore. Please let me know if there is workshop where all of them can be done in a single go.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Renault Kwid : Official Review

I own a 2021 Kwid RXT AMT and loving every bit of this car.
I was wondering if it is possible to change the driver seat with that of a Triber. Basically, I would like to have the seat height adjustment, because that is the only thing which I sorely miss on this car.
I have done multiple long drives and I am always left with an aching right knee. I have already tried adjusting the fore and aft to find a comfortable driving position. But nothing has helped so far. I also do not wish to do a jugaad by adding extra foam on the seat.

Any ideas, suggestions?

Re: Renault Kwid : Official Review

My father's 2019 Kwid manual has only run 5500 kms. There is too much engine and road noise in the cabin while it's being driven. It has recently undergone servicing as well but the noise cabin noise is still pretty high.

I am aware that cabin noise in Kwid is on higher side but can there be ways to minimise the same?

Re: Renault Kwid : Official Review

Also is it possible to add a side upper handle in front passenger side after market? Since its not there my mom feels uncomfortable. She is used to it from our previous car.

My wife's KWID reached the mile stone two days ago.
It is the October 2021 AMT version.

Re: Renault Kwid : Official Review

My Kiwd had remained in the parking for a little more than a month. This resulted in the rats having a merry time with the Windscreen washer pipe. Thankfully its just the pipe.
This morning I replaced the pipe with a local option available at the friendly neighborhood hardware shop. The 1 meter pipe costed me rupees 10/.

Also put in a few pouches of tobacco in cloth, so as to minimize further visits.

Re: Renault Kwid : Official Review

I read an article stating that Kwid AMT is the cheapest automatic car available in India. Even less than Maruti the cost-king! Renault deserves a pat on the back. They should be selling more than the measly total monthly 6000 (all models together). While maruti 3 pot engines are smoother (lower NVH) than the corresponding Renault engine, the ride quality and space of Kwid is decent for the price. Whats your take?

Re: Renault Kwid : Official Review

I drove yesterday from home to Kumarakom and back. Around 430 km total. This was the first time since KWID drove this much distance in a single day. Below are the FE figures from MID.

Home to kumarakom. Started 3.30 am.and reached 8.30 am

Return leg overall FE reduced because of a lot of traffic.

I would bluntly say cause build quality(not talking about structural strength but how well it's bolted together), reliability and after sales treatment of customers matter most to majority of car buyers in India.
