Thanks, I got them changed at Pal Tyres Santacruz. Was offered each at 8200, paid net amount of 4000 after receiving 4200 for each of the JKs.

Is there any way to use wireless android auto in S-Cross? If yes, then what device de we need to purchase?

Thanks

2018(facelifted) S-Cross MJD - 76000 km update

My last update here was at 52000 km in January 2021. Was rested a full 45 days in May last year as the entire family was infected with Delta.

Hasn't seen too many long drives, one major Hospet-Bijapur drive in October 2021, rest were in 600-1000 km ballpark.

Since March has been doing 80-90 kms a day on a suburban commute. Has raked up about 6500 km in 75 days.

Some major updates over the last 25000 km:

1. Glow plug nonsense finally stopped after 63K after glow plug control module and all 4 glow plugs were replaced.
2. Stock JK UX Royales were replaced with Continental UC6 at 58K in June 2021. I am impressed so far. My next swap would be another set of UC6, hopefully around 110-120K.
3. A cattle encounter at 66K in December 2021. I wrote about it briefly in ike's thread here. Bad timing with lot of flood affected vehicles at the workshop meant 24 days downtime to get it back in shape.
4. On the FE front. Except for the 16.x figure during the downtime with Delta. FE has been 20 and above for the most part. Lowest with suburban commute was 20.9.
5. Was able to rake 1000 km in a tank finally. Came close once in Feb 2021, finally managed in last refuel. Have written about it here.
6. Have seen an occasional issue shifting into 3rd, either from 2nd or 4th. This disappears after the first few shifts of the day. Very rare on long runs. Planning to get the clutch plate replaced during the 90K service.
7. Battery replaced at 68K in Feb 2022.

Should hopefully see 100K (my first) sometime early 2023 :)

There is a dedicated thread for it. Has links to experienced of available solutions.

I go crazy and switch between Carplay and Android Auto depending on mood. Have not had any issues with wired connectivity across Oneplus 5, Oneplus 7 and iPhone 11. So no inspiration to spend 100 USD with that status quo.

Hi everybody, I own the 2019 1.3MJD facelift SCross. Recently gave the car for 30k servicing. Have driven it for ~400km post servicing and have noticed that the FE (MID reading) has reduced drastically. While earlier it used to give 15-16kmpl, it hovers around the 12-13kmpl mark. The only changes in usage pattern is that these 400kms have seen AC temp set at 20 while earlier it used to be 23/24. However, my usage has become more non-peak hours (traffic wise) so steady pottering around 3rd and 4th gears instead of frequent shifts between 2nd and 3rd, which IMO should return even better than my previous FE.
I haven’t raised it with the ASS yet since these 400kms have been only city drive, albeit relaxed. Still, I want to do a highway run before raising a formal complaint.
However, thought of checking here before heading to ASS. Would get a better and definitely honest opinion here. Is this behaviour par for the course? Or am I missing something?

Get the numbers with tank to tank method and confirm. Also it would help if you have the T2T numbers before the service.

Did a 1300 km stretch from Ludhiana to Jaipur and back over the weekend. Followed the speed limit for most parts - 90 kmph between Ludhiana-Kundli, 120 kmph on KMP Expressway, and 80kmph between Manesar-Jaipur.

Occasional overstepping on the pedal + ~50 km of city drive and I arrived at FE of 20.2 kmpl.

What I like the most about this car is the comfort that it offers to the driver as well as the riders. On highways the performance is satisfactory. The odo now sits at 106500, targetting 110000 by next month.

Have also booked a Kia Carens Diesel Automatic 7-seater as the 2009 Honda City is being moved out having done 205000 km.

Saw a blog on Rushlane which mentions that the S-cross has been discontinued.

It will soon be replaced by Maruti and Toyota's Mid size SUV codenamed the YFG.
According to Team-BHP's Sales report, the S-cross was doing quite well in MoM growth but was not able to compete with the standards of the Creta and Seltos and the other cars in the segment.

Is there any news about the new S-cross in India? Have not come across any official announcement yet.

I will not be surprised if SCross is discontinued. Maruti never made any real efforts to push the sales of Scross, in spite of it being THE best vehicle to come out of Maruti factory, with 5 star safety rating, ABD+EBD, all 4 disc brakes, most spacious with big boot and overall a very good package. Even after 55000 kms running, there are no rattles, no lose parts, no broken parts, and zero complaints from my Scross. It still glides over bad roads so well and brakes are near perfect. It can carry huge amount of luggage and still do illegal speeds with ease. On top of everything, I get an FE of 14-16 in city and 24-27 on highways.

I thought that Maruti will launch the facelift of Scross instead of a completely different model. The facelift was expected (rumored) to launch in September 2022. https://www.autocarindia.com/car-new...out-for-422689

Got back to the old FE figures after the first tank refill. Did one more refill and it still is in the vicinity of the old readings. So I’m good for now.

Hello fellas! Got some news here, don't know whether it's cooked up or official. The S-Cross is discontinued from the MSIL lineup to make way for the YFG.

This is the link. Once again, it could be a rumour, it could be official, so it is recommended to take this with a pinch of salt. Thank You.

Has anyone recently upgraded the software in the Scross? How did you do it?
What are the changes in the upgrade?

Yesterday, 12th June, took the car for 120K service. Did not want to get the EGR cleaned, so was billed for 110K PMS, instead of 120K PMS. Changed the all the filters and switched to semi synth oil, as I was not prepared with oil from my side. My plan is to change the oil again at 125K.

Front rotors needed replacement, deferred to 125K service, since the rotors was not in stock at the service station, and it being a sunday, they were not able to procure it.

I was carrying monroe rear shocks and those went in. The older shocks were shot. After it came out, it was just in the compressed position and did not expand. You can also see some scoring on the shocks, one of the shocks looked like it was a little bent, not sure. Short drive home, felt that car was noticeably quieter over the expansion joints on the flyover.

The parking sensor was faulty. I tried all the DIY methods to figure out which one was faulty, and was unable. So I had asked them to scan the car for me to find out the faulty sensor and here are the results. So maybe all of them except for right outer is gone? Anyways will start with centre right and go from there.

Total cost aroung 10400 including the semi synth oil from the service station.

Yeah me too. The gear knob coating in my car has peeled of in areas and looks ugly. How can i use the Ciaz's knob? I have a 1.6 too.

I too have a 2016 S-Cross 1.6 Alpha and the gear knob's acrylic / plastic sides have peeled off like an egg-shell. I have a BHPian Friend who is also the owner/GM of a major Maruti Dealer Service center in Kolkata who also happens to own a S-Cross 1.6. He was able to source the original gear knob after almost 2 weeks of wait but the cost is unjustified in our opinion. It costed me around Rs 5000 + taxes.

However, the feel of the worn gear lever was irritating for the speed king that the S-Cross 1.6 is.

I guess you didn't pay notice to Dr. Naren's S-Cross thread. You could have saved around 4500/- !

^^And to add to that sometimes the supplier of Bodomo delivers the S-Cross 1.6 gear knob instead of the Ciaz one mentioned in above post. So practically I and several other 1.6 owners got a 1.6 knob for about 500 Rs.

Hello All,
I thought I’ll share the mileage I have been getting with my S-Cross 1.3.
My car is now around 5 years old with an odo reading of about 23K. I used to see a mileage of 18 kmpl on the MID for a mixed use of highway and city driving.

I have driven about 1000 kms on single tank full of diesel , so I am sure highway mileage is well above 21 kmpl. So the 18 kmpl reading on the MID looked acceptable.

I always wondered what the mileage would be while driving in Bangalore’s hectic traffic. On a recent service , not sure why, but the service guys reset the mileage numbers (not the odo reading). Don’t know why they did it. After that I have been using the car to drop and pick up my kid from school. This is approx 12 kms , 2 ways, with a total of 20 mins of extremely slow moving traffic. During this time my MID showed a mileage of 14.2 kmpl. I found this to be interesting and thought I will share with this group.
Summarising
Highways = > 21 kmpl
City (regular traffic) = approx 17 kmpl (calculate after diesel fill ups)
City (Heavy traffic) = approx 14.1 kmpl

Thanks
Note : I have asked the service folks why they reset the numbers they told they will come back.
