Any idea, Is there any major difference between the Hungary built and India built ones?

More airbags and few extra features. Weight difference is minimal between Indian and Europe version. So I believe Maruti has not compromised on body shell .

I do not think the boot light is a direct connection from the battery. I keep the boot light switch on and I see that it is connected to the door switch. You open any door and the boot light comes up if the switch is on. If you turn the switch off, the light never comes up.

Yes. You are right. The boot lamp is connected through the door switches. An additional switch is for controlling when the door is open.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Has anyone driven a remapped 1.3 with comparable bhp / torque figures to the stock 1.6? Would love to know how does a remapped version fare against the 1.6L .

BHPian Sandygordon has remapped his 1.3. I think that is the only 1.3 getting remapped in our forum. He may be able to shed more light on the improvements as well as comparison wrt 1.6

Quick question:
What is the purpose of the RFID tag on the windscreen? Can it be linked to fastag account?

Is it ok to put a sunfilm on this tag?

I have remapped 1.3 SX4 diesel. Weight of SX4 and S-Cross 1.3 are also similar. 0-100 of stock 1.3 SX4/S-Cross : 13.X.

A remapped 1.3 can produce same power as stock 1.6, but cannot match that 320 NM torque. My SX4 is doing around 118 BHP / 255 NM. Post remap, 1.3 is marginally faster than stock 1.6 in 0-100 timing. But after 120 KMPH, 1.6 feels more agile than even remapped 1.3. No replacement for displacement and that humongous torque .

These are the best timings which we got from V - Box.

S-Cross 1.6 ( Stock) : 11.3

SX4 1.3 ( Stock) : 13.8

SX4 1.3 ( Post TOT remap) : 10.8

Not to forget, even my 1.6 S-Cross is remapped by TuneOTronics and does 0-100 in just 9 seconds .

Remapped 1.3 can hit 100 in 11.5-12 s (118bhp claimed with 240nm of torque)
But it still feels relaxed, you will not get that locmotive pulling prowess of the 1.6 especially after 90-100 kmph. Second and third gears are where the action lies for the code 6 map on 1.3. Post 3k rpm the pull is much better than in the 1.3 stock. Turbolag also reduces by 50%.

It does not hold a candle to my figo TCDi's 9.6 s 0-100
Leave alone the 1.6s tyre shredding peformance

sudeepg will have his comments as well. (He was the first bhpian to remap a 1.3 s cross)

Yes, I too feel the same in my remapped 1.3 SX4. Stock map has no juice post 3000 RPM and post remap there is enough grunt even after 3K RPM. 11.5 to 12 sec post remap for 1.3 S-Cross sounds little less because my remapped SX4 does it in 10.8 seconds. Not to forget, SX4 is 20 kgs heavier and also 0.5 seconds slower than stock 1.3 S-Cross. I would expect remapped S-Cross to do it in 10.5 seconds .

Try hitting 100 in 4 th gear . I have observed that the car was faster if upshited to 4 th at around 85 KMPH. SX4 and S-Cross have similar gear ratios. But S-Cross has way lesser lag than SX4.

My SX4 1.3 has run 1.2 lakh KM and doing 0-100 in 10.8 seconds on V Box is very special. I have not found any car with 1.3 Multijet doing 0-100 faster than my car ( documented online, I mean).
