My first post here, great to be a part of the community. Time to get the sticker on the car. Have read extensively about "The Hippo" and after the extensive test drive, I've fallen in love with the 1.6 thrilling beauty. Hoping that parental advisory approves of the decision.

Welcome buddy. Besides the Hippo thread, there are some awesome review from Mi10, ajay, etc that I referred to when making my buying decision.

Few things that people will tell you to do is get the rubber changed. The current ones are like chappals (noisy). Get some good shoes. The 1.6 demands it!

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Need some advice.I got my car inspected for black smoke issue.the black smoke have completely gone but since then I think engine is roaring bit loudly when I press my right pedal. Also after crossing 50-60 kmh I find it completely normal.told my SA about this when I test drived my car.he called Nexa Specialist ( yes they have one person who have more knowledge about Nexa cars) and he told me it's completely normal.he even checked under portion of the car and no issues .being BMW M perfoance fan I am liking this Roaring ( yes I can differentiate between exhaust and engine roar) anything to worry? 2nd service is still 1400km away .

Dear Sahil

You mean its roaring from 0 ~ 50 kph only?
Just check around bumper and wheel well area for clips and clamps.
There is lot of plastic for the underbody/ bumper area with many press clips. Check if they haven't missed any of them which is causing wind noise.

One suggestion - Please don't allow the workshop fellas to play around too much with your car. The workmanship in our country isn't great. More time your car spends at the workshop, more problems can surface in future.

Glad your black smoke issue was resolved but I'm not convinced the way it was done with no proper explanation about root cause.
Also keep in mind, dismantling many critical parts and re-assembling them back would also disturb the factory setting (torque etc) of the parts.

Looks really good! Please do post a few more pics.

Dude, you bought only one? I was kinda hoping you would buy an entire box of them and re-sell to the folks here who are desperately looking to ditch the chrome grille.

Completely agreed with it .that's why I am holding myself back from sending it again.I visited the service centre like 5 times in 12 hours (next to my home)to see what are they exactly doing as I am worried that they touched the engine area to soon.but to rectify the issue I have to give the permission.last time they just got underneath and checked the car to see if everything OK with underbody cladding.all the time I was there.also I showed them All the Team Bhp stickers on my car and gave the idea that many forum members are eagerly interested to see what's causing the black smoke( to keep the pressure on them).

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

After inspecting my car they came to conclusion that Vaccum Actuator pipe had some blaockage and leakage. They fixed it along with ECR check and problem resolved.to access the pipes they have to open the engine cover. Everything else is untouched.I would have ignored it but black smoke was causing some performance loss so have to get it done soon.

Mods please merge this posts .thank you

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I am facing a peculiar problem in my 1.3 Zeta purchased in Sep 15. Alongwith the car, I had purchased a Nexa kit which had some goodies like a car refrigerator, Seat Covers, Floor mats, etc.

In mid January, I started getting this error on my screen whenever I switched off the ignition after driving the car for a few km. It won’t come if I just start the car and move it around in the parking lot.

Took the car to Nexa Lucknow and they could not decipher the issue even after keeping the car with them for 3 days. I had to escalate the issue to Maruti Head Office through a friend and finally on day 4 I was told that the refrigerator was the culprit. There was some short circuiting because of that.

I got the car to Delhi and gave it for my 3rd service 10 days back (@9980 km). They could not resolve the issue that day. Called for the vehicle again this week, kept it for 24 hours and told me the problem is now rectified. After 20 mins of drive I came to know that the problem is as it is.

Any of you has any idea about the problem?

If it is a refrigerator issue and since it is a Maruti Accessory purchased from Nexa, would Maruti change and provide a new one?

Yup, have checked his review too. Crazy reviews of his. And what he's done with his current S-Cross also. Sweet mods done. Going to pick the same rims I think

Yes, it is in Australian market. It is an issue related to seat cover interfering with airbags deployment. Since we don't get side airbags in India, No worries

@Sree73: The quoted links discussed the problem occurring at the time of starting the vehicle. In my case the problem occurs at the time of Shutting off the engine and that too after having driven the vehicle for a while.
If you have any other info, pls share
