Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

After 36 hours technicians have successfully diagnosed the black smoke issue. Turned out to be issue with vaccum pipe associated with turbo.now black smoke have completely disappeared and there is some minor improvement in pickup also there is noticeable difference in traffic driving.

I don't think so.the petrol pump from where we usually fill the fuel is quite reputed and old one.also I was facing this issue from last month. It just got worse 2 3 days back so got it checked immediately.

Is it possible to remove only this switches part from door panel? Or i have to open entire door panel for this? I want to wrap it in glossy carbon fiber to increase overall ambience.

Good to know the issue is sorted. What was the culprit? I suspect a leak due to minor crack. Did they change vaccum hose under warranty?

They haven't replaced anything.just cleaned and tightened the vaccum actuator pipe.actually they should have solved it much earlier but according to them Nexa specialist was on day off at time I submitted my car.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Nexa Service guys replaced the entire front roof light unit, after accepting their mistake. They did it all on location and thankfully did not ask me to drop the car again at the service center.

What I liked about this unit is that it's a proper plug-n-play unit. No wiring, no screws and no major technically complicated procedure.

All said and done, this kind of poor handling is not expected from Nexa and Maruti. Hope they monitor their service bays better in the future.

I received my car yesterday and I just noticed fog lights are not working. May be they have forgot to plug the fog lights again should I try to plug it to on own or visit them again? Anyone can guide me to plug it successfully ? Damn they should have been more careful with this .

Got the third free service done last Saturday at around 10250kms. The car feels smoother and revving up to higher rpms without much effort.

They brushed the front bumper while driving it to the wash area. It was good that I was there whole time and noticed it as the car was being dried after the wash.

On highlighting the chipped paint the first reaction was denial. However, when I insisted, they suggested that we review the CCTV footage.

Going through the footage was a patient job but paid of as it showed the car being backed up and the driver getting out of the car and checking both cars (the one he brushed and mine).

Since it was late in the evening they suggested I get it done next Saturday. Sunday DP is closed. Will go this Saturday to get it fixed now.

When I accelerate fast in second or third gear (between 2250 and 3k rpm) there is a sudden uncontrollable surge of power which is still kind of scary and at the same time two things happen. One, it seems that the car is being pulled towards the ground and second I experience a significant pull on the steering usually to the left side.

Just wanted to know if this is normal.

Completed my 10K service last week and after that did a Bangalore - Thrissur trip and back. Not much of a difference in any parameters, but engine noise has reduced to a good extend and runs smooth. Got fuel economy of ~22 KM/L with AC.

Started from Bangalore @ 4:45AM. Had breakfast at Salem Sharavana Bhavan @ 8AM. Reached home (Thrissur - 505KM door to door) at 12:45 PM - 8 Hours including 30 mins break.

Thrissur - Bangalore journey took an hour more. Started at 8:30AM and was at Whitefield at 6PM. Now the Odometer is 11.1K KMs

Surge in power perfectly fine as it is the turbo effect. But, pull on steering to the left side needs more investigation. Just get in touch the Service Advisor.

Regarding the 'car being pulled towards the ground', it will be just a feeling because of the sudden thrust. It may not be any physical happening.

While inspecting my car for black smoke they had removed the front bumper.

Mileage of 22 is really awesome. Max I have ever managed out of my 1.3 alpha is 21. Did u cruise during this trip and what is your basic style of using cruise on Indian roads?

The left pull happens while overtaking maybe because the steering is not straight. But even on a straight stretch the steering kind of tightens up.

The car goes completely junglee between 2.2k and 3k rpm. Learning to control it in that range. After service touching 3k rpm is kind of buttery smooth. No noise. No strain. Just that wild pull.

Have they done anything or just opened the bumper and looked at it?

My guesses are they would have:

1. Checking the turbo plumbing and tightened if needed;

2. If they are enthusiastic they may have checked the intercooler and cleaned it

3. EGR check.

Why I am not getting a mileage of more than 16 to 16.3? I did Gurgaon - Ajmer return trip and the max that I got on the highway was 16.4. I admit, going at more than 90-100 with 3 three adults and 2 kids....so guys guide me, should I expect more performance out of my S cross 1.3 or I need to get it checked at the next service interval?

THanks
