Also I have received a quote from the local NEXA dealer (Sai Service) and the quote shows price of extended warranty for 1.3 Zeta (the model I'm interested in) as something like INR 14k. On checking the NEXA website, it shows the price of extended warranty as INR 12587. When I enquired with the dealer, he says that the extended warranty indicated on the quote is the one offered by the dealer (and not the NEXA extended warranty) and the stipulation is 4 yrs/unlimited kms as opposed to the NEXA extended warranty of 4 yrs/80000 kms. Do you think that it is wiser to go for the NEXA extended warranty or the dealer supplied extended warranty?
The NEXA dealer in Goa has got lots of Baleno and S-Cross vehicles in stock. Did you ask them about the availability of 2016 manufactured vehicles? How much did they wrote for 1.3 Zeta?

Even after the price correction, scross sells just 2K in january. Can't see any import data for 1600cc diesel engine after december.

Is local assembly started?
Or no demand for ddis 320?
Or, are the prospective scross customers waiting for brezza?
Or, is there a deliberate attempt by maruti to create waiting period for scross? People who booked, please confirm?

My RM had mentioned over a casual conversation that the 1.6 is going to be locally assembled and hence the huge price cut for DDiS 320 variants. But I took it with a pinch of salt as he said this when I asked for additional discount for my 1.6 Alpha. He said I am getting an imported engine + gearbox combo but the 2016 models will have locally assembled ones. Naturally I thought he told so as he did not want to give me too much discount compared to 2016 model.

Side-note: He also told me that 2016 models will be manufactured from Feb and dispatches will start only from March.

Very possible. Not many non-enthusiasts will go for this engine variant. I mean, how many will be ready to shell 1.5 lakhs more just for an engine? Not many are like me

I am sure dealers still have the 2015 inventory with them. With Nexa touching 100, each showroom is selling only around 20 S-Crosses per month and only 3-4 of them are the 1.6 variants.

ALL the NEXA dealers in Bangalore I interacted with (happened mid to end of January) had more than 15 S-Cross DDiS320s. Going by this, I am sure it will take them at least 1-2 months to clear off the 2015 stocks. It does not make sense for Maruti to keep pushing more of them and later force the dealers to sell them at a discount.

Also, pushing new S-Cross will ensure that the 2015 models will remain stagnant with the dealers. Most dealers I interacted with were ready to sell the 2015 models only at a small discount compared to the 2016 prices (citing that they got the S-Cross at a much higher price compared to 2016 model). So, once the 2016 models are free flowing, 99% buyers will go for that only.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

Hi All,

I recently completed 1700Kms Rajasthan trip covering Jodhpur, Udaipur and Ranakpur. I must say rajasthan highway are just amazing with very less traffic density.
Travel was like this:
  • Delhi-Jodhpur (Amazing highway although after crossing Ajmer, i had to left butter smooth udaipur highway and turn to single road Jodhpur. Although higway quality was very good till Jodhpur)
  • Jodhpur-Udaipur (initial 80 kms was ultra smooth. Then you will have mountains, roads between villages etc which was quite fun)
  • Udaipur-Ranakpur-New Delhi (Udaipur NewDelhi is super but for ranakpur, i had to take different route which contain narrow but beatiful sceneric road)

Highest Mileage : 24.5
lowest Mileage: 14.5
Average Mileage: 18.5
Longest Drive in single day: 800Kms

Please enjoy pictures below. hope you people will like them.

They don't have any stock of S-Cross from 2015. They have ordered new vehicles with 2016 date of manufacture.

On interactions with reliable sources at dealership here is the take on 1.6 engine/ S-Cross.
1. At current 100 Nexa dealerships, S- Cross monthly sells at an average of 20/dealerships, with 90% sales are for the DDiS200 variant.
DDiS200 currently being sold is of 2016 manufactured lot ( no inventory of 2015).
2. The DDiS320 will be localized and debut in 2017.
3. The bigger Vitara will get this engine and most likely an AT variant - 2017
4. Will retail through Nexa.
5. Further S-Cross will have this engine too.
6. S Cross will be coming soon in Petrol variant ( likely the 1.4 l Ciaz engine)
7. Petrol variant is speculated to launch in May 2016.
8. Vitara Brezza too is likely to get this same engine in its petrol variant after S-Cross.

DDiS200 currently being sold is of 2016 manufactured lot ( no inventory of 2015).
On that basis, Maruti should be having inventory of approx 1500 units of 1.6 DDIS engine.
Worth 345 Million INR.
Someone in Maruti would be making a recovery plan.

Overall, its not a good statistics for DDIS320 owners.

Do you see any RPM fluctuations? Should not happen, with or without A/C. When A/C is running, the RPM rises by 100 odd but that should be constant once reached.

Could you let us know what's your idle RPM and what's the variations you see? If the engine is warm, the fan might kick in at idle; are you feeling that? Guess it also could happen with the A/C compressor kicking in / off. But these should have no effect on the RPM.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

I am consistently feeling light to mild vibration (in all conditions - with or without AC, warm or cold engine, idle, in all gears) on the steering wheel of my 1.3 Delta S-Cross. Apparently there are no vibrations on the foot pedals and gear handle. I got this checked at the service station and they said this is normal. Vibration kicks off as soon as the engine is started (idle around 800 rpm, no fluctuations). And it becomes more evident as the vehicle gains speed. Is it normal?

Hey Sandy, I don't think this is normal at all. The steering wheel has to be sturdy and stable at all times.

Please escalate this to someone in Maruti if your service team does not respond appropriately.

I checked this in my car today. No vibrations at all on steering wheel or pedals at idle around 750 rpm! Please check with another service station if you have multiple in vicinity.

Well this inventory will go to upcoming Ciaz in April and will sell like hot cakes if priced Correctly. Seriously things keep getting messed up with 1.3 and 1.6 saga.
