Mine is V CVT 2017. I guess yours is the one which has full led vertical bars too.

Re: Honda Jazz : Official Review

Hi folks. Recently I bought my first car- a pre-worshipped 2017 Honda Jazz VX Petrol MT with 23000kms odo. Here's how this happened:
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/what-...ml#post5363940 (Which pre-worshipped model as a safe & reliable, first car?)

I am completely new to cars. I appreciate your guidance, folks.
I bought a Zero depreciation insurance with Engine cover from Chola MS.

1. I am looking to purchase a Child seat (Graco DLX 4ever), Dashcam (70mai M500 Pro+), TPMS, floor mat. Is there any other accessory which is necessary?

2. The car is out of warranty. Honda quotes Rs.9500 for 5th year extended warranty. The terms of the warranty is that I should get the car serviced every 6 months as per schedule. My annual use is going to be around 5000kms only.
If not for the extended warranty clause, is it recommended to get service every 12 months instead of 6 months? Is extended warranty recommended for me?
(No extended warranty, 1 service a year- Rs.7000.
Extended warranty+ 2 services a year= Rs.9500+7000+7000).

3. The previous owner didn't provide GPS card for navigation in infotainment system. The touch screen infotainment system has Radio, Bluetooth connectivity which is good enough for me. The only thing I miss is Google maps navigation which can be solved by adding Rs.500 mobile holder. Or is it better to go for a new infotainment system in markets for Rs.8000-10000?

4. Unlike other variants, 2017 VX comes with only one power socket. The USB charger I bought has two ports. I don't plan to hardwire the dashcam and need one socket exclusively for Dashcam. How do you manage with just one power socket?

5. Any known issues in this particular batch of cars? Mine is September 2017 manufactured VX MT. Any recalls or known issues that I should look out for?

Thank you folks.

That’s a nice car you got. I believe you got the Magic seats a feature many in this forum like and it’s Honda’s brilliance in display.

5 year old and 23K kms seems to be a decently used car. Don’t worry about the extended warranty, these pieces are known to be decently built and they age well.

The head unit in VX versions are not that great when compared to the V version and the rear camera display is also not good. Would suggest an after market version like Sony or Pioneer. Check their compatibility with the controls on the steering. Most of them are capable of handling it.

Happy miles ahead and congrats.

Congrats on your new car! The Honda Jazz is a reliable and spacious family car and good you have gotten yourself one that hasn't been used too much either.

Hope you have a lot of great memories with it!

Thank you very much.

Yes. I had to choose between 2019 VX and 2017 VX, both with around 25000 odo. 2019 VX costed 1 lakh more. But 2017 VX has Rear adjustable head rests, 60:40 split seats, Magic seats, but misses out on Android auto. Weighing the pros and cons, I chose 2017 VX.

Just got the BS6 Jazz CVT last month. I will almost never use it on the highway but on my office runs on the Delhi-Gurgaon Highway and DND at 80kmph it was around 2200rpm and around 27/2800rpm at 100kmph. Maybe as the engine runs in, it will settle down a little but not too sure.

Honestly, the engine feels pretty relaxed and stress free if you accelerate gradually and not in mad max mode all the time.

Mr.Mahajan's BS4 Jazz CVT ran at 1500 RPM at 85 kmph according to this update. His car hadn't yet gone for its first service as of this update - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-...ml#post3858379 (My 2015 Honda Jazz V CVT (Automatic))

One more update by another member places the RPMs at 1500, at 80 Kmph - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post4055663 (Honda Jazz : Official Review)

This page is chock-full of Jazz CVT (and MT) RPMs at different speeds. It seems to be 1850 RPM at 100 Kmph for the BS4 Jazz CVT - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...eview-192.html (Honda Jazz : Official Review)

Would it be any different for the BS6?

Thanks RohanDheman & locusjag for your answers. Interesting to note that the BS4 and BS6, have slightly different CVT ratios, given my assumption that both RohanDheman's and Mr.Mahajan's Jazz's were before their first service and I hope Drive mode is used instead of sport.

Unless we have a direct comparison between a run-in BS4 and BS6 CVT, I guess it is hard to tell the difference in ratios. Anyway I am glad to know that at 80-100kmph, the rpm hovers around 1500rpm~2500rpm which is pretty silent IMO. So wind and tire noise only at highway speeds

Yes, the car has been on drive mode only so far. First service is tomorrow so i will update you once that is done on the rpm.

Also on highways, its tire noise mainly. The wind noise is surprisingly well contained. The tire noise too can be well managed with a change of tires. I am sticking to the stock Goodyear because this is on office lease so I am not too keen to spend anything from my pocket.

I am also looking to buy a safe, reliable city warrior hatchback and Jazz is a strong contender. However, the lack of rear headrests is a very big oversight in my view. I feel it is a critical safety feature in the city and highways. Even a small accident or sudden brake can cause the head to snap back and front causing a whiplash. A proper headrest is critical to prevent/mitigate injury in such cases.

How safe are the Jazz's current rear seats in light of the above?

Has anyone added enhanced/adjustable head rests?
Is there any way to add safer after-market head supports?

Took the car out for a spin today in the morning to check it again post the first service (ODO is 500km). With cruise control set, 80 was at 17/1800 rpm and 100 was at 2200rpm. With music playing, barely any noise apart from the Goodyear tires.

Re: Honda Jazz : Official Review

Need to replace the tires
Questions:

- any need to upsize to 195/60/15? This is is mostly a city car with about 20% drives to Madras
- any leads on where I can get Michelin Primacy in Bangalore?
- some one is suggesting Continental UC6 (@₹6400 per tire before WB&WA). Any reviews? ( I think the price is high)

- what about Yoko BlueEarth AE51 (195/60/15) (₹ 6816)

PS: are the prices reasonable? How much would I expect to pay for, say, Goodyear 175/65/15?

Please do let me know. Thanks

Re: Honda Jazz : Official Review

As per ETAuto, Jazz, 4th Gen. City and WRV are reportedly going to be discontinued.

I wonder what the future holds for Honda Cars India Ltd or if there is a future after many exits from its management.

Maybe the parent company is looking at a complete overhaul in India?
