Hello Friends,
I have a Honda Jazz 2016 model. I used to service in Magnum Honda and i am not satisfied with the service. I am due for service and would like to hear from the other jazz owners in Bangalore for any other reliable service center where the quality of service would be better. Pointers please.

Please contact Amith Kumar at Whitefield Honda (+91-99801.41528). He will guide you thru well.

I have installed the basic noise-making reverse sensor. Didn't want any display to go along with the sensor noise,so selected an option costing 1200 Rs. A lady like voice blurts out the distance.
What would the purpose of integrating these sensors be?
The Reverse Camera is showing you the display, whereas the sensors, from their own speakers, are blurting out the distance.

The Honda showroom guy quoted Rs 5000+ for reverse parking sensor. You mentioned you got it for Rs 1200. Where did you get it from?

I got it installed from the Auto accessory market in Sion, Mumbai. It is of a Chinese make, with no internal display or additional mirror or anything else, other than a small flat speaker like device glued near the front driver side seatbelt base and 4 sensors on the hind side, blurting out the distance.

Has anyone experienced black smoke for idtec? I know that diesels emit soot when subjected to sudden acceleration due to rich fuel air mixture, but wanted to clarify if anyone has seen it otherwise.
I also get a foul smell from exhaust after a run through traffic. This I get outside the car obviously. I have run close to 40,000km in around 2 years with no other complains. There is no other observation in terms of mileage/power/torque if that helps.

I am facing a strange problem with my key fob since today morning.

I am unable to lock the car with press of key on fob, but car unlock works absolutely prefect with fob. I can lock the car as of now using key and unlock it using fob.

Had this been battery dying out issue, it should have caused failure of lock/unlock both. But this is really strange behaviour, all was fine till last night. What could be possible cause of this?

Jazz 1.2 VX MT 2016

Root cause was traced to rear left door not being shut properly and I must have overlooked the door ajar sign as well. This led to car not being locked by fob.

Key fob works like a charm as before.

Has anyone had any problems with brake noise? I've had a constant squeaking noise from the brakes pretty much since the purchase. I've been to the ASC for this many times and each time they clean the brakes and say its sorted but it starts back up within 500-1000 kms. I've done about 14000 kms so far.

During the last service at 12000 kms I told the SA that the noise is still there and he said they did a comprehensive check and cleaned it again. He said there was nothing wrong with the pads or the rotor. He just said that there were some heat marks on the rotors which can happen due to excessive braking at high speeds. I don't buy that argument because the car is only used inside town and is only driven by me. Apart from the fact that I am a sober driver the 1.2 engine mated to the CVT is not made to race. Its best driven sedately and I just do that.

I have had this problem on a 2016 Diesel VX purchased from Deccan Honda since day one. I went to their Pimpri ASC at least 5 times for getting it fixed in the first few months, in addition to the reminders during the service. During the first month of purchase, they changed the disc and pads to fix the issue. But the issue came back within a few hundred kms. After that, every time I visited, they used to spend hours in checking the issue but were never able to fix it. I think they are incompetent. After wasting so many hours and days following up, I gave up because it was a waste of time. The problem never went away and I have learnt to live with it.

And Honda's customer support "works like a postman" (these are the exact same words that the Deccan Honda Service Manager used), just forwards complaints back to the ASC! I did not know this before going for a Honda, else would have never even considered it. My purchase experience with Deccan Honda was not good either. That story is a long one.

Anyway, I have decided that I will never ever buy a Honda and will neither advise anyone to. There are much better options in the market.

I own a 2016 Honda Jazz V (petrol), which has clocked 17K kms. I too have been facing the annoying brake squealing issue right from the beginning. Every time, the noise reappeared after 50-100 kms after service.

The latest advise I received from Dakshin Honda,Hosur Road,Bangalore was to accept the problem as it is , as this is an "inherent" problem with Honda Jazz cars. Which I believe is not true,as I had a bitter experience earlier with this dealer, when there was a problem with A/C. Even when I showed them how the back seat passengers were suffering due to inadequate cooling, they did nothing but kept repeating that it was an "inherent" problem with Jazz. Later, I got it rectified from an AC expert( it was found that the hot air blower was continuously working irrespective of the temperature outside).

Moreover, you should consult the Meteorological dept before giving your car for service at Dakshin Honda, as their shop floor gets flooded during rains!:Shockked: Had Honda had any criteria for dealership infrastructure, they would have disqualified this dealer for the same reason.

As correctly told, Honda customer care is just like a post man - can't expect more from them as they have become complacent( Usually,I receive a half-hearted feedback call after a month of getting the car serviced, with zero intentions for any action) Even a Viagra shot will serve no good for them. Never in my life will I opt for a Honda.

...

Not with the brakes, but I have been facing problems while shifting in the first and second gear. The gear handle just gets stucks and its takes effort to move it, especially in traffic. Every time after service it goes well for a day or two and the problem starts all over again. And the Honda service center people have no clue as to what to do about it!!

I have a question to Jazz owners. How do you manage the low GC? Is it a real big issue on Indian roads? Somehow I am getting attracted to Jazz as our next car. :D
Everything seems fine since I want to buy it for my wife. It will be driven gently, mainly in city and at average city speeds. I see no concerns after reading these reviews here. Only worry is the GC, may be I am worried for no reasons but the figure of 165mm on papers for car of this size is making me nervous.

GC is adequate for most speed breakers in Bangalore on full load. But, sometimes you have to be careful with manholes jutting out on narrow roads and steep banking angles. But if you encounter them slowly, shouldn't be a problem.

From my personal experience, GC is adequate even on big speed breakers when it's Driver + 1 Passenger.

With 4 passengers and fully loaded trunk, it still does fine in highways and streets but can't handle big speed breakers without scraping or putting in extra care to navigate them.

The 165 mm GC is quite adequate for a hatch. Will definitely not scrape speed breakers except for the extremely unscientifically built ones. Have a look at this picture from BHPian NoHonking’s ownership thread:

Also quoting BHPian NoHonking:

Quote:

165 mm of ground clearance was one of the critical deciding factors, as anything below wouldn't have been accepted. The car was bought but later it made me worry as the combination of 165 mm ground clearance and large 2530 mm wheelbase could fairly let the underbody to scrap. One slackness and my Honda City ZX(Length=~4.4m; GC=160mm; WB=2450mm) is sure to touch. With those figures, the picture below(clicked while parked unladen) may scare everyone, yet till date my Jazz(Length=~4m) hasn't suffered even a single belly touch.
PS: Not a Jazz owner.

Facelifted Honda Jazz won’t be launched in India – Report

A person in the know of the development has told the business publication that the company has decided against introducing any new version of the Honda Jazz in India.

Quote:

“Honda has internally decided not to bring the new version or variant of Jazz in India since the product never managed to do well in the market,” the source said.
Quote:

It will focus on the second-best-selling model Honda WR-V and the next-gen Honda Amaze that will go on sale soon.
Well, Honda have to blame themselves for this. They priced it higher then the previous gen Jazz. Feature list was Inferior compared to competition. Only Good CVT was the reason it was doing well. Also, Honda wasn't interested in selling it. The WR-V was being promoted instead.
