I just returned from Mahindra Showroom (Shireesh Auto in Bangalore) after test driving a XUV500 W10. I specifically asked them about the wiper issue and they told me that the newer models have fixed this issue completely.

Unfortunately thats not the case, Wiper issue is still very much present, It only works properly for a few days once the car visits the service centre, As they do some sort of setting which does not even last a week, The heck for me the wipers were not cleaning the windshied when i took the car out of the showroom.

In the recent heavy rains here, I was forced to use the wipers almost all day, and there were no major issues with cleaning.

The only issue I noted was that the wipers were leaving some lines on the windshield just as though some foreign object were trapped under the edge. I am going to wipe down the blade edges and see what happens.

Yes that's the issue with me as well, The wiper leaves lines and several lines for me which actually makes it more difficult to see, It only reduces if you use the water spray and wipers continuously for sometime.

Been a fortnight now driving the cheetah. No wiper issues to report as of now. I am a liberal user of window washing / wiping. Read that mahindra has a windscreen cleaning concentration liquid. Does any one use it and if so how good is it. I use glass cleaner concentration with water for the wiper fluid.
The navigation system resets to full volume and the male voice each time.Has anyone got around this. The volume / voice settings are not saved by default.

I am using VW'S washer fluid which I buy when I give either the Polo or Vento for service.

Like vinitbhavi, I am a liberal washer/wiper, cleaning when there is any dirt or mark on the windshield, so this streaking is not really an issue for me.

I actually think it might be a defect in the wiper edges rather than in their positioning.

In my previous experience, this usually starts to happen when the blades are somewhat into their normal service life, and have seen a few months of heavy use.

In fact I completely went off those high end Bosch Aero Twin wiper blades because they streaking heavily just one or two months after I started using them.

Hii totally agree with you there the behavior begins during the beginning of normal running life of the blades. IMHO rather than blade quality it is predominantly depending on the wiper blade setting / angle.
It never happened on the SX4 but kept happening in the Grand i10. The simplest solution was to get the right blade angle adjustment setting. Same blades never troubled after that on the Grand.

Wiper's are fine, Since after adjusting them properly by the service centre guy's the same works fine for a week or so before it starts leaving lines on the windshield.

Do you park it in open space? Looks to me like the problem of dust / debris getting stuck to the wiper blade and leaving streaks while wiping.

Have you changed the blades any time?

Yeah the parking is open to an extent, But i have checked several times there are no debris or anything stuck or near the wiper blades, This issue has been since my previous XUV too, And only happens in XUV and never happened in any of my other car.

Blades were changed everytime the service centre asked me to, Has not been changed for the New age XUV since the first monsoon for the car is just coming up and have the wipers were used occasionally for cleaning the windshield.

I've a covered parking both at my office and my apartment, and yet I faced this problem twice. The Mahindra blokes replaced it the 1st time(which was circa 4 months after the purchase) and I now see it again. The best part is they asked me to pay for the wipers as it doesn't fall under warranty - I expressed my angst and they waived it off. Hope I won't have to purchase the wipers the second time now.

Guys discussing on the wiper issue, why no go the aftermarket route target than struggling with the OEM ones?

Are they difficult to procure or too costly?

Did read somewhere that the after-market wipers doesn't appear to be as 'aligned' as the OEM, albeit it does a great job- it's been mentioned somewhere on this thread.

Hii guys I remember having opted for the extended warranty while booking the cheetah. However I still haven't received any documents / letter regarding same. What exactly is the procedure / documents to record the extended warranty.
Thanks in advance.
